so they did change the ending of the book. I thought he would. the book ending is more tragic and ambiguous, but otherwise it sounds beat for beat from the book. makes it even more shady that they didn’t credit PAUL TREMBLAY the author anywhere, still excited to see the movie, just wish the author got credit.
@@XeaRae **book spoilers** leonard and andrew wrestle with the gun and andrew accidentally shoots wen and she dies. everyone is devastated by this and it’s just sabrina and leonard left alive atp along with andrew and eric. sabrina promises to help them and kills leonard even tho he’s apologizing repeatedly. they see on the tv that disasters are still happening and wen’s death didn’t help because it wasn’t a “willing sacrifice”. the three remaining escape in the car together but then sabrina kills herself and eric wants to sacrifice himself as well but andrew says they will face whatever comes together and that’s the end. it’s never really clear if the story about the apocalypse is truly real, it’s left open.
@@lifeofdevint hope I didn’t spoil it for you but yeah I figured they would change the ending cus the book ending feels pretty tragic and unsatisfying, but I personally liked it! still very excited for the movie, thanks so much for the great review!!
Glad you're giving it higher marks than most. 4/5 seems really deserved, and I'm glad to hear the insight about the camera movements on the weapons and such, that explains a lot. This movie seems like one of those other M.Night films that gets better on the 2nd viewing, so definitely a winner in my book.
I actually thought the Twist was gonna be the 4 strangers were Aliens and there was no apocalypse, they were just leering innocent people to a cabin to study them. Keep in mind, I didn’t read the book it was based on
No the biggest Mr Shyamalan fan, but glad you got to meet him and get some Q&A time; it would be better if you were able to talk to him after the movie instead. When they had the panel discussion, was there any audience question section? I was pretty satisfied with this movie. Glad there is no real gimmicky plot twist unlike his other bad movies. I did not connected the grasshoppers to them. Leonard did say not to spook them. But you did not mention in the rules, the death can’t be a suicide. They have to choose and execute one of the family members.
Thank you for watching my video! There was a few questions from the audience and Pete Davidson asked the rest! I got to talk to him 1 in 1 before though
@@lifeofdevint Simple sounds negative… haha…. It’s more direct - no gimmick plot twist. I hated his last few movies because they all hinged on the big gimmicky plot twist/reveal. I’m glad this is more straightforward drama/thriller as the story unfolds.
Didn’t make sense. They were letting the family choose to stop the apocalypse, but each plague/disaster had already happened before each intruder died. Like the tsunami had already happen four hours prior. I thought the death of the horseman is what was supposed to be what triggered it. And then another horseman would die, and then they would turn on the television, and the events that were being reported were obviously from much earlier
At this point Shyamalan is just ruining the plot of his movies on purpose. He had great source material for this adaptation, and the ONE THING that made the book so controversial and 'Sixth Sense plot twist a like' he decided to rewrite. Like what the hell. I was looking forward to this movie for months, and all I got was a simple movie which, beyond the first 20 minutes, felt like it didn't matter. I'm really annoyed by how they made this story feel so... casual...
I respect your opinion! Thanks for watching my video. I feel like this movie he made more focused on the characters and developing this story though them. There wasn’t a twist or anything but what happens in the book?
That’s really great that you had the opportunity to meet him. He seemed very down to earth and friendly. You did a good job. 👍 Saw the film yesterday. I really enjoyed it.
The ending should've been Leonard and Wen as the only survivors with Wen asking Leonard what will happen now? With Leonard responding that the unknown of the apocalypse is now prevented he promise's her that he will be her guardian angel.
@@lifeofdevint Hahaha… I went into the video because of “ending explained” But to make your video more viewer friendly, you might want to section your video into different parts - story recap, our rating/review, ending discussion with spoilers, obviously, and your meeting with Mr Shyamalan. Before seeing the movie, I had viewed another review and I was able to jump off after he gave his rating, but before he went on to some spoiler discussion. Just a tip on your future videos if you want to make changes…
The movie was super meh but I guess we all have to shower it with praise or else the thought police will come after us and cancel you for hate speech... That is the world we live in now
@@Dog4826aw I'm usually not on the hater camp of his movies, but this movie felt numb. He didn't do any justice to the great storytelling from the book at all. He could've told the exact same story by making it 20 minutes shorter. That's how much 'noise' is going on...
Just saw the movie … I liked it. I do wish they would have delved more into the characters backgrounds/lives ….we just get a few bits/pieces

I had the opposite feeling. I’m glad he did not do his usual stuff with the gimmicky plot twist/reveal. I love that it was a “casual” drama.
Did anybody else cry?
Are those actually people in front of the movie banner when you're interviewing the director? Good grief... looks so realistic.
Yes they are thanks for watching! They were hired to look like the actors i believe.
