I dislike The Visit as well, but calling it "a movie made by a moron for morons" to describe a creative and fans of the work is a really tactless/pathetic thing to say. If M Night and his fans enjoy his brand of cinema, so be it. Someone's affinity to a specific artistic creation is not a measurement of their intellect. That was a very moronic thing to say.
Sounds like the same old Shyamalan: he knows how to sell an interesting premise, but just can't stick the landing, and give us a satisfying payoff, which is what you absolutely have to do in a thriller.
Just saw the movie.... it wasn't great but wasn't bad either. Felt like 2020 though and a movie I think people shouldn't watch at the theater cause it's not a feel good movie. It's amazing this movie exists cause it was probably made during the pandemic and who wants to experience this again after what took place in 2020. People should pass on this one.
I know what you mean. Earlier when I heard about that massive earthquake in the middle east, all I could think was "A part of humanity has been judged." It kind of freaks you out a little bit.
Thanks James. 🙏☮️No matter how hard he tries, he will never match ‘the magic’ of The Sixth Sense. With one of AFI’s top 100 movie quotes, I see Dead people (American Film Institute)
Here's why you keep going to see these -- there are vanishingly few filmmakers who are, themselves, the brand and franchise. And he's one of them, deserved or not.
I liked the movie, so I was curious to know why you didn't. I'd be down if you did a spoiler talk on why you thought the ending was dumb, and the logic of the movie was incoherent. I felt like it followed through on its premise. I admit that the themes weren't handled with subtlety, they were more or less spoon fed to the audience. Also the acting was a bit melodramatic. That said it didn't sour the experience for me.
Do you like any of his movie? Not the biggest fan.. I liked the aesthetics of The Village and the premise was cool but don't think to hard about it. I didn't hate Lady in the Water though I don't remember it so well. And I enjoyed Signs. Unbreakable and Split but thought Glass was a bit of a let down. I found the others I'd seen pretty stupid and he's yet to make a great movie. Maybe someone else should write him a good script and see what we can do just as a director?
yeah i think most of his films are good; a few stinkers like avatar but for the most part they are above average. i loved the village, unbreakable, signs, 6th sense
You're a masochist James. I thought it was alright. It did begin to lose water towards the end. The only saving grace is the couple and their kid. I was rooting for them throughout.
I’ve never see this happen at a movie theater but everyone could be seen gathering their things eager to leave a good 10 minutes before the movie finished. Definitely not a crowd pleasure. It was moronic.
He got lucky wit sixth sense. He has been on the decline for some time now. But for whatever reason people keep giving him money so he can direct another piece of shit. Mayb he shud employ good writers to actually write the script, and he can concentrate on directing the visuals.
Too bad Paul Tremblay's first adaptation seems to be a failure, at least in Jame's eyes. Although I haven't read "Cabin At THe End of the World", the novel on which this is based, I've read several other Tremblay novels and he's very good. This movie seems to be 'split' as far as opinions go (sorry) so I'll decide for myself. Seeing it tomorrow.
It stunk. Needless insert of the director in an infomercial just before a pivotal setup instantly throwing away any built tension, horrendous "TV" editing and a terrible third act ultimately ending with a gay guy being the new Jesus. Talk about preachy...

he has good movies, lots actually. the village, 6th sense, unbreakable, lady in the water, signs

I love how scorched earth (yet fair & valid) this review was on M. Kight's latest flick and career in general.

Film was great.. check the movie out yourself.

Off the topic, what did you think of Babylon?

Don't worry James, I'll listen to the spoilers. TBH, it sounds like another Shamalama Ding Dong hit!
If the ending is bad is that Shaymalan's fault or Tremblay's fault? Do they stick to the original story?
No
Oh no!
You should review Hair-Trigger!
That's too bad. Thnx. James.

Thanks for the review James💚🇬🇧🌱 slim pickings indeed...👍

The Ark looks promising? 💚🇬🇧🌱
Love the CoC shirt. Deep cut
The book is better. More ambiguous (until the end).
Talking of rubbish movies, I got to see Black panther 2 last night... WOW 😳
I don't know I haven't seen it but I said it was frontrunner for movie of the year. Neck and neck with Oppenheimer.
Nolan and M night aren’t even in the same universe man. M night has been a hack since the village, Nolan is still firing on all cylinders.
@@L33Reacts Yeah I know...was making fun of James calling out Oppenheimer as frontrunner for movie of the year even though he hasn't even seen it.
lol
