The one thing that stands out is his balance and his ability to absorb contact and stay on his feet, it’s something I’ve never seen from a man with his size and power
The problem with CC is that he makes the breaks but never finishes them off and he tends to run away from his support he's also suspect in defence hopefully he can improve on these things.
The blessing and curse of superior genetics. He has never had problems running through, over and around everyone, so his ability to make a line break, draw the defenders and put someone else away is not where it needs to be. He should have easily out Tupea away
Ball in hand he's incredible, one of the most devestating runners in the game right now, his decision making and defence are actually pretty below the standard of a top class international winger in my opinion.
I don’t get your point - you could say that about every player. I once saw BOD miss a tackle live with my own eyes, but he’s still the best 13 of all time…
@@ryanredversmusic Your point does make a lot of sense. I think it’s just in recent memory he hasn’t been great defensively(maybe the last 3 months). Not saying that he’s bad defensively. It’s just a couple games in a row he hasn’t been up to his usual form.
@@dhufishhunter6455 no fair enough! I just think that it sounded a bit harsh, given that he’s young but with huge potential. There’s no need to call for a video with 10 minutes of bad decisions or mistakes because you could do the same with any player…
He’s a terrible defender and yes you could make a video of players over the span of their careers but this guy hasn’t shown signs of improving his defence. Also I would argue he is terrible at linking with other players, once he makes a break there are players in support but he runs lines that put them out of supporting lines. Hope to see him improve in those areas.
Sometimes I see his father at the time with the Blues ! I remember a match in France against Brive in 1997 omg 😱 (I’m French and I have Mister Clarke father poster it in my Room 👍💪) my second best player after Big Jonah LOMU 11 😢…….
As great as he has been for the ABs this year, reckon he isn't in his best form yet coz of his most recent injury. Excited to see him prepped n at his devestating best come RWC but hope he uses the northern tour to grow much further into his role.
How to play Rugby. An excitement machine. What the fans want to see..busting tackles, great runs. So early in his All Black career. If he can reproduce that form over and over and over again he can be an All Black great.
He created even more problems for NZ. He simply can defend. They would at this stage be better without him. Hey but that is how you develop players. You let them play.
@@Allan-mf1he how can you judge the way you judging yet you can’t even spell properly! And also, you clearly know nothing about rugby or Caleb Clarke if you think any team will be better off without him.
Honestly, not to diss the guy because he clearly has insane talent, but I don't consider him a good player. look at 2:06 because thats just one of many examples of where a truly good player would make a pass to create a try but he is a bit too consumed with just how talented and fast and powerful he is. He is gifted for sure but the merit of a good player isnt how strong or skilful they are, but rather how they can contribute to the team, and while the huge m he makes contribute, he isn't contributing what he is truly capable of adding to whatever team he is playing in. (also not the best defender) awesome video nonetheless
He is an amazing player and I'm a big fan of CC but his defense is not on par at the international level but if he fix his defense and his awareness on defense then he will be a world class winger.
10 minutes of highlights included only one tackle, one pass and one offload. If Forrest Gump was gene spliced with a one trick pony, Caleb Clarke would be the result.
He could become one of the best wingers in the world if only he works on his defences. The game against the springboks just shows that. Too much linebreak at his side.
Yeah hopefully a bit more international experience will get him there. There he can learn from teams that base their playstyle on defense. Not sure if any team in NZ or even in superrugby really does it. They tend to be more offensive. But tbf it's more fun to watch that way :D
The one thing that stands out is his balance and his ability to absorb contact and stay on his feet, it’s something I’ve never seen from a man with his size and power
I also like how he spots and accelerates through gaps.
Lomu jr
0:06 It's pretty amazing that Nic White is the guy who brings Clarke down, considering he was also the first guy clarke brushes aside for this run
He has the potential to be one of the jost devastating players on the planet! Let’s hope he reaches it 💪
yeah that aged well
The problem with CC is that he makes the breaks but never finishes them off and he tends to run away from his support he's also suspect in defence hopefully he can improve on these things.
Agreed, well said.
The blessing and curse of superior genetics. He has never had problems running through, over and around everyone, so his ability to make a line break, draw the defenders and put someone else away is not where it needs to be. He should have easily out Tupea away
He seems to be doing far better this season. I reckon he will be one of the greats. He still has a lot of time to improve
Ball in hand he's incredible, one of the most devestating runners in the game right now, his decision making and defence are actually pretty below the standard of a top class international winger in my opinion.
I agree
Yup if he works on that, he will be one of the greats for sure.
So true
One reason why and I hate to say it but I prefer sevu Reece. He's a player who uses 100% of his energy and pace of defence as well as attack
@@calebmills1446 his attack on his girlfriend was incredible!
Great player offensively but you could equally make a 10 minutes of Caleb Clarke being bad at rugby compilation of all his defensive blunders.
I don’t get your point - you could say that about every player. I once saw BOD miss a tackle live with my own eyes, but he’s still the best 13 of all time…

You don't get my point that rugby players should be able to defend as well as attack? Lol

4:18 That pass though.
Good job you found all 10 minutes... Quite the task.😛
Who do you support? Because you clearly just have something against New Zealand. Probably because you sour of loosing to them all the time 😉
Unreal player. Can't wait to see what's in store for him
Leaks a tonne of tries though but man he's got massive potential
Yup 100%, he's still young so a year or two of defensive training and he'll be one of the all time greats no doubt
Agreed.
Solid stuff Caleb Powerhouse man !!!
A really good player.
Would love a video on a Tier 2 player like Santiago Arata or Rodrigo Fernandez.
Lest we forget. Possibly the next Ma'a Nonu @12

Could you do a "great players being bad at rugby" ?
Great idea👌🏽
This gus is a beast
Incredible player 👍
The man reminds me of Akuma from street fighter with how he wear his hair!
Here for the boomfa!!
Incredible going forward. Questionable on the backfoot. Commentators want to relax
Very questionable in defence
If only he could pass and defend 😢😂
He caused huge problems for both the Boks and Wallabies this year. He is certainly another Allblack great in the making. From SA
He created even more problems for NZ. He simply can defend. They would at this stage be better without him. Hey but that is how you develop players. You let them play.

If only his defence was solid, he’d be up there, but great player otherwise.🔥

In that way he's like a lot of awesome wingers like Teddy Thomas. But there is room for improvement.
@@McDJNomi yeah that’s the trend in NZ. Maybe the reason why they mostly score more tries than any other team
@@paulbismuth10 definitely
Agree. Definitely can get there though. Rieko’s defense couple years ago was abysmal but so far this year he has been fantastic
He’s playing in this World Cup right?
Maybe attacking rugby, I don't know about his defense.. as with zammit they definitely need to improve when the other team has ball...
Casanova Murley next?
*Cadan
Do Rieko Ioane
Now show 10 mins of him trying to defend 🤦🏽♂️🤣🤣
Jonah Lomu 2
Most of these plays he’s either set up by his mates or he goes on his own. He’s not really a team player.
un gran jugador! fantastico
He plays better with short hair.. sort that all should come right..
First
Needs to learn how to pass the ball
