    • @JokersWild70
      @JokersWild70 Місяць тому +4

      @Daddy53751 He couldn't have quit at the end of the "Diary" tour, because he was under contract. His brother Kelle, and bassist/best friend Rudy Sarzo have both said that he had finally agreed to do the live album of Sabbath songs (which he had initially refused to play on because he hated those songs), plus he would've done one more studio record and tour in '82/'83, then he would've been free to leave the band. Former bassist Bob Daisley said that there were already plans for Ozzy, Randy, Bob, and drummer Tommy Aldridge to make a new studio record in summer or fall of '82. He tried leaving, believe me, but he was threatened with lawsuits

      Dude doesn’t really like the rock & roll life, and kinda just wants to go home, and he’s stuck in the loonie bin.

      I’m still bent after all these years, as I had my ticket for the Diary tour, and well you know what happened next.

      @Daddy53751 I'm sorry you missed it. I never got to see him live either, and that pisses me off. I feel robbed, but I was born in '70, so I was 11 when he was killed, plus I didn't discover Randy until '83, then I got both Blizzard and Diary. He was amazing!

    Can’t remember for sure but these may have started as special orders from The Music Zoo. They did a similar thing with Jackson and got them to make some tribute guitars to Randy’s Concorde. I have 2 of those, a white with black pinstripes and a Floyd, and the other I was told was a custom order after the run, it’s black with white polka dots and bow tie inlays on the fretboard. Need to pick up one of these LPs soon.

    I have a particular soft spot for white LPC's. My first 'proper' guitar was a white 1990 LPC & she's been my gigging guitar ever since. I've retired the old girl pretty much nowadays, as I don't really gig anymore but I'd never part with her. Of all my guitars, she's special.

    I managed to pick up a 74 custom for £3600 awhile ago. Almost nothings original, it’s been refretted but with tiny frets so no the best for bends but I do love it.

    I’m so glad I got to see Randy Rhodes when the Blizzard of Oz tour rolled through town. (Motörhead was the opening band). If you watch the documentary about Randy, it’s absolutely heartbreaking. His death was somebody else’s fault. He should still be with us today making great music.

      Saw Randy on that same tour in Boston. So sad, you could tell he was going to be one of the best.
      Motorhead had just released 'Ace of Spades'. A worthy support band. Needless to say my ears were still ringing the next day.

    There is a rattle can paint that is about 99% perfect to this aged white. Rustoleum (spelling) 2x Heirloom White. If you're a person who does kits, builds, or refinishes guitars and wants a nice, aged look, that paint is a good start.
