I watched this excellent movie several times, and each time I say; the title should be "A Cup Of Coffee". That single cup of coffee David bought for Henry was the reason the whole family was saved....

I went through the same situation the George family went through. I lost everything, but with my faith in The Lord, I survived. Now I am doing my best to give back. Going through that scary situation has helped me appreciate all that I have...right now even the smallest things.

I almost skip this movie but thank God that I didn't. My family has been facing the same situation after my husband lost his business and his kids up until now. I got the message from this movie that there is always hope and God hears my prayers.

I have seen this movie several times, I really enjoy it...a good story with lots of life lessons...the little girl narrating the story, really makes the story...she's a sweetheart..small but mighty. ☺

In many towns the water quality & it tastes bad, and will corrode coffee pots & appliances. I paid for pure clean water in gallon jugs b/c even a Brita water filter could not fix the nasty water. Some small country towns have water problems!
✍ Hello... What a wonderful movie. My husband and I went through a similar situation about 35 years ago,so I was able to understand what this family went through. But I honestly believe God Had His Hands on our lives guiding us for what He felt we needed not wanted. Thank you for sharing this movie with us. I truly hope if there is someone or a family watching this movie that it will help them to see how God can change lives and the situations they're in.

What a great movie I believe in miracles they are around we just seem to miss them when they happen but they do happen. If you try and do a good deed you will be rewarded my mother was that sort of person and I am just like her I am blessed I had her in my life she loved making people happy whenever she could that's me now.

Sorry, but the simple life? Umm, this guy had loads of money!!! You’ve got to be kidding. Ask any real farmer, if it’s the simple life. This is a lovely sentiment, but it’s a pipe dream, a fairy tale. I have a very simple life right now, as do many older people on Social Security - it’s not sitting around looking at the sunset, especially in a city. There are many people with hardly any money, who are definitely not able to lead “the simple life”.
Life is not in any way fair.
Have a good one everybody - and enjoy what you do have. It’s worth every minute. 🌺🌲🕯️✨

He sat huddled up and was breathless from fright. All at once, he felt so happy: his hands and feet suddenly stopped aching and grew as warm as if he were on a stove. He shivered all over, then startled - he must have been asleep. How nice it was to sleep here! 'I’ll sit here for a little while and then go look at the dolls again,' said the boy, smiling at the thought of them. 'It's as though they were alive!' And suddenly, he heard his mother singing over him. 'Mammy, I'm asleep; how nice it is to sleep here!'
'Come to my Christmas tree, little one,' a soft voice whispered suddenly over his head.
He thought it was still his mother, but no, it wasn't. Whoever was calling him, he couldn't see, but someone bent over him, and... all at once - oh, what a bright light! Oh, what a Christmas tree! Yet, it wasn't a fir tree; he had never seen a tree like that. Where was he now? Everything was bright and shining, and around him were dolls, or no, they were not dolls, they were little boys and girls - only so bright and shining. They all flew around him, kissed him, took him, and carried him along with them. He was flying himself, and he saw his mother looking at him and laughing joyfully. 'Mammy, Mammy, oh, how nice it is here, Mammy!' Once more, he kissed the children and wanted to tell them right away about those dolls in the shop windows.
'Who are you, boys? Who are you, girls?' he asked, laughing and admiring them.
'This is Christ's Christmas tree,' they replied. 'Christ always has a Christmas tree on this day for the children who have no tree of their own.'
He discovered that all these little boys and girls were children just like himself. Some had frozen in baskets where they were left on the doorsteps of well-to-do people in Petersburg. Others had been taken in by Finnish women from the Foundling and had suffocated. Some had died at their starving mothers' breasts during the Samara famine. Others had died in third-class railway carriages due to foul air. Yet, they were all here, resembling angels during Christmas. He was in their midst; he held out His hands, blessed them, and even their sinful mothers. The mothers of these children stood on one side, weeping. Each recognized her own child, and the children flew to them, kissing them, wiping their tears away with little hands, and urging them not to weep because they were so happy.
And down below in the morning, the porter found the lifeless body of the frozen child on the woodstack. They found the mother too - she had died before him. They reunited before the Lord God in heaven.

My American buddies invited me over and told me that they could offer me a rent-free place to stay in a suburb of San Diego, California, and in downtown Austin, Texas ...
Being on a tight budget, I would be able to visit only one of those states ...
Which of them do you think I should choose and why?
My main interests are practicing my American English with native speakers, visiting natural wonders and meeting single women searching for a life partner.
(I sure hope that American women are as nice and caring as they are portrayed in all those Hallmark movies).
Also, my friends suggested that I learn to use some US slang or I won’t be able to communicate with the local residents on a proper level but I’m not sure if it’s worth the effort …
Won’t Americans be trying to express their thoughts in plain English seeing that they are dealing with a foreigner?

💓🌲First of all what this movie isn't: High budget, high-profile actors, and magical or surreal Christmas storylines. Now what this movie IS! It's real life. A family lost in chasing the great American dream-- "whoever dies with the most toys, wins." When your passions are for things that are temporal, you are teetering on great loss. This is a movie with a Message. A real Christmas message. A message of real hope, when all seems lost. With all that we face in this world today, if ever we needed a change of focus, a dose of reality of what matters most, and what we've got to loose, this is it.
