So the locks haven’t been upgraded, you have to buy extra lock packs. Absolute joke from Ford

Totally agree it’s a 4👑 joke in 2024 you’re selling a van that will have tools and equipment in otherwise why are you buying a van!?! but btw the locks are a chargeable. Pi$$ take. Ford would sell air in the tires as a chargeable upgrade, if they could!!! Great video though 👍
Does this have a wet belt? We have 3 transits and all 3 have failed! 2 catastrophic engine failures and Ford offer 25% towards repair. Avoid like the plague
Yes I’ve heard about these wet belts being terrible 1200 quid to replace one too
I think we need some basic vans that are affordable. The price of new vans are crazy.
You’re right, I was looking at Volkswagen transporters ridiculous money, like £30’000 plus vat, personally I don’t need all the technology in new vans.
What about the van's security! Will we have to spend money on improving the van's security?? Which Ford should be doing!!! How many tradesmen and women has lost tools due to the crap locks and security! I guess you don't give a crap about that as its not your money!!
Why would you put a touch screen interface in a work van? Can you imagine how grubby the screen will become on certain work vans. Touch screens are fragile and dust is the enemy. Also with touch screens if they go down you literally cannot drive the van. If you are lucky you will only have to sit there for twenty minutes while it reboots itself. The most common problems with these new fords will be software issues.
Before you buy one hire one for a week and you will soon realise you dodged a bullet.

Exactly I don’t want all that technology, I’ve got a Vauxhall vivaro it hasn’t even got electric windows.
So we spend 10s of thousands of pounds for a van and you still cant put a basic security lock on it as standard, to at least show willing that you are trying to help us protect our tools? My 2020 custom got done in 8 seconds, from drilling the door to grabbing my tools. Why cant you help fight that without it costing more??
The quotes I’ve had for this van are unreal 8k up front they want 👀

Wouldn't buy a new van to get broken into why haven't they upgraded the locks ,should come with no sliding doors one less to break into
I call this BS .. It will be broken into easily,it will need fixing within the first year , the build quality is lower than an MPs trust level,it will have crxp in it that no one has asked for.

No.
Also , the windscreen washers freezing up. Mainly due to the design of the washer jet. The jet itself is counter sunk into the plastic and a small pool of water freezes up. Rendering the jet useless at 0 degrees Celsius

new vans have so much tech which is driving the price up beyond a lot of peoples means 🙁
I inquired about rough prices limited high roof previous gen about 38k this at least 48K 😒, I don't think I could physically increase my wages by 10 k a year in a blink of an aye.

Locks are not upgraded this is of major importance to a tradesman also the engine still as the shitty wet belt system, looks dont matter we need reliability and security as a primary reason for buying, get on to Ford and get them to fit a decent engine and locks then I may think about buying one
Plug in hybrud has 237 ps not 275 and the ev has 136 and 217
Looks a lot smaller than the existing transit custom. The cab particularly looks very tight and that gear stick base looks very restrictive on the leg room. I chose the Custom over the VW Transporter or Toyota Proace because of the extra cab space and I'm sad to see that the new link-up with VW has meant the Ford van has got smaller rather than VW bigger. Very dissapointing.

Hope the panels weight is much less than its predecessor that is incredibly heavy. Park it at a 1 degree angle and its a struggle even then to fully open the side doors they're so heavy.
Nice, love the umbrella. The 2.5 petrol sounds like a great option, I can see you getting some VW customers coming over to you soon when they realise Ford is building the new Transporter for VW.

The standard headlights are like candles and in 2023 should be led as standard on all models not an extra! Its safety at the end of the day

Not for the main beam. LED is for stand by only on lower end.
They should of included the steering wheel in every model. A table to eat lunch covers every type of user🤷♂️

I like the fact that the rear styling hints at the Mk1 Transit. What is disappointing is that Ford thinks that van owners require all the tech in the van when it's not needed. All owners want is a reliable, secure and comfortable vehicle to use. Far too many things to go wrong on this, which means down time, loss of earnings additional owner costs etc. Sad that the customers have been ignored by Ford. The ethos of what the Transit was, has been lost. They are pandering to the ST market. Bring back simplicity and security with style and then it will fly out the showrooms!

Anyway what about payloads on the different versions and are there minibus/Tourneo versions with all the engine options?
Having just spent £1,600, on a wet belt change , plus £1,100 on a add bluefault , on a 2020 model, may well leave Ford alone

Nice looking van, not a fan of the pedal placement in them. I’m in a bog standard transit atm for work, no cruise control which doesn’t help meaning I hardly get to rest my right foot. the way the pedals are positioned (too high) aches my leg and strains my foot. Would be interesting to hear if anyone else has the same problem.
yes definetly do , my wife said this the first time she drove my van and i understand the issue for her it was the brake pedal being to high, for myself i have no problem.

There tiny and 3 people in the cab is cramped to f..., the previous custom is much bigger, just buy a new vivaro its exactly the same except ford interior is a little better, vivaro uses a different engine without wetbelt and its much cheaper , ill stick with our old vr46 tourneo
Do the cargo lights turn off automatically
show technology, like line keep assistant how to work, what lights are there etc.

The same 170hp diesel as in this new one of mine blew its guts all over the road and blew up last night. Less than 40k on the clock. Do not get the diesel with a wet belt people!
electric handbrake is BAD news.
i dont care about any feature, most trades man who work in london are concerned about the safety and how secure the van is, van are being broken in to on daily basis. why can't a van be factory fitted with metal plates, deadlocks and anti force open
Good video! Are the rear lights really LED? Thought that was on the Sport as an option and the EV. Also, don’t forget the virtual interior mirror you can spec - that’s a game changer. Can’t wait for my new custom to arrive 🎉

I'm confident the rear tail lights are LED on this model and believe they are standard on all 'Limited' models and as you say are on the E-Transit Custom too and also the Trail. I've just double checked this on the main Ford website too. They honestly look great in person, a huge upgrade in my opinion. What colour and spec Transit Custom have you opted for? - Macaulay
They are bulbs, you can see that from looking at the cluster design

@@foray-motor-group I have a 73 plate Ford Transit Limited for work and do around 35000 miles a year in the van so have good experience of them. Had a couple of customs before it, one I did near on 170000 miles in!
Hopefully the front headlights last longer than the model before, i have a 68 reg & the led lights have turned a horrible yellow colour now plus the light up in the dark isnt that great either

What about the terrible seat cloth! My 67 plate Transit had excellent seats but my 22 plate is abysmal!
So with no lock out rear doors, in high winds rear doors with fly open into cars, great one Ford!
Tail lights not head lights. Biggest feature missed - think I saw a low access step into the side of the van….
I just bought one today for the new year same colour took it for a test drive loved it, like a car to drive very comfortable very silent really cool interior roll on 2024

I’m considering this van and never had a Ford before, but I’ve noticed a great deal of what appears to be valid questions about engineering integrity and security that you don’t reply to Matthew, I think you should. Customers spend their hard earned money on these vans and rely on them and you for improvements. Totally ignoring them is not good customer care. I’d like to see some response as I’m sure those bothering to ask you would. G

Doubt it, made in Europe so chicken tax. Also you get a smaller Transit van in the US, low roof, the rest of the world transit roof starts at medium height.
