    Shane I love this build and have the same MG myself (also w/some BAAK parts) which I'm in the middle of tearing down and rebuilding. I did some work about 2 years ago (exhaust, grips, mirrors, brake and clutch levers....smaller stuff) but now am in the midst of tearing down most everything except the motor and suspension. One area I have a question on is your tank and how did you get the brushed look on the sides? Sandpaper, scotch brite pads, steel wool, something else and did you clear coat when you were done? I have a different area of the tank in mind to do this with but can't find anything online about the best way to accomplish this look and LOVE the end result you have. Any assistance would be welcome and would be happy to share photos of my rebuild journey as I progress. Thanks!

      Hey Devin! glad to hear you are doing a similar build to mine! And as far as the brushing, I brushed the sides and the fuel cap of the tank. I also brushed the engine headers to give them more of a distinctive look. To get the brushing I actually used a light grit dish cleaning cloth. Heres a link for the one I used on Walmart, but you can get these anywhere. www.walmart.com/ip/Unique-Bargains-Kitchen-Cleaning-Scrubber-Sponge-Scouring-Pads-Non-Scratch-Dish-Cleaning-Green-20pcs/815399451
      And yes, send me updates with photos! I'd to see how your progression comes along. Let me know if I can send you detailed photos of my Guzzi to help you along the way.

    Nice looking bike..! Is the “1.5” person seat a standard thing from Baak or is it something you had custom made…?

    • @motoifybyshane
      @motoifybyshane  Місяць тому

      I wanted the 1 person seat, but at the time BAAK only had the 1.5 person. I am not sure if they changed this look now, but you can always find different styles outside of BAAK. I personally just liked the look more from them versus others I saw online. Hope this helps!

    Hey Shane!
    I just bought the same bike and couldn’t be more excited. I changed the mirrors and was on the fence about making any other changes, until I saw what you’ve done. I found some of the items on the BAAK website, but I’m struggling with the fender elimination. Any chance you could point me in the right direction? Beautiful work, sir. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    • @motoifybyshane
      @motoifybyshane  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Kelsey! I'm glad to hear that you're apart of the Guzzi community now! So with the fender, I purchased it from BAAK as listed from the V7 Racer modification list. However, it still took out further than I envisioned it as I wanted my look to end right at the seat to fully expose the rear tire. So I actually measured the appropriate length of the new fender and sawed off and brushed the fender to fit as I wanted. But looking back it now, you don't really need BAAK's metal rear fender, you can still keep the original plastic one the bike comes with and cut off the excess length that is not wanted. I hope this helps, let me know if you need anymore answers good sir!

    Hi, I'm working on a similar project and I need a clutch cable just like yours, with an almost right-angled metal tube bend in the front that leads the cable vertically down past the lamp head (clearly visible at 2:48 in the video). Is it a custom made clutch cable, or did it come from some other Guzzi model? Thanks for your answer in advance.

    • @motoifybyshane
      @motoifybyshane  Рік тому +1

      Hey man this is actually the original clutch cable setup when I first purchased the V7. The only thing I did was shorten the cable a bit to make it look a little neater, but other than that, the cable and parts are stock. If you really need that curve, you can look here for a custom one: www.motionpro.com/c/custom-cables
      But I do believe the OEM Guzzi cable comes with the curve and you can add a clutch cable housing to it. You can heat it up and shape it to the curve so it fits and gives it more protection. Hope this helps man.

    • @ZoltanosBanditos
      @ZoltanosBanditos Рік тому

      @@motoifybyshane Hi! Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, meanwhile I found that all the V7 models have that curved clutch cable till 2015, but I have an series II, ABS model from 2016 and it has a different, almost straight cable and it collides directly into the headlamp, if I positioned the handlebars lower. So, I think I have to get a stock cable from an older Racer. Thanks, bye!

    Fantastic build, great looks & sound. The most beautiful v7 racer on earth 😉👍 Which bar-end mirrors have you placed. Foldable CRG's ? Is the exhaust louder then the originals ?

    • @motoifybyshane
      @motoifybyshane  3 роки тому

      Thank you so much! Had a great time building it! The bar end mirrors aren't anything special, they are just a carbon fiber look from Ebay. And yes, my levers are gold foldable CRG's. These exhausts from BAAK is significantly louder than the stock pipes. However, in terms of the Mistrals I used to have, they seem to be the same level of sound. I would have to say that the BAAK pipes have a deeper "growl" to them compared to the Mistrals and I do like that better. However, the Mistrals pop and crackle more than the BAAK pipes, so it is mainly up to your preference. Hope this helps.

    Why all those custom motorcycle builders start with removing the rear stock mudguard? I guess I have never seen a custom bike WITH the rear mudguard. Kinda funny..

    • @motoifybyshane
      @motoifybyshane  10 місяців тому

      You don't have to, really just a personal preference. I removed mine since I wanted to achieve a certain look. I don't like the rear mudguard since it sticks out far and looks "clunky." Removing the guard allowed for more of the exposure of the rear tire and makes the bike look lighter/simpler

    It is beautifully built, really, but it is way WAY too loud. Only Harley riders always have to be loud but Guzzi- and BMW riders rarely. The majority of the American people don't like it. What is the meaning of the noise?

    • @motoifybyshane
      @motoifybyshane  10 місяців тому +1

      We can agree to disagree. I like the note my bike makes and I do not think it is all too loud compared to some harleys. At idle, I can still talk with someone nearby. However, I gone on rides with Harley riders and I cannot hear anything but their bike at idle. I wanted to give my bike the proper look and allow the engine to sing properly
