You know what the best part of the Jaiden cameo is? That in the end of the Platinum Nuzlocke, Jaiden's character goes through a heavy introspection wondering if she deserved the victory after losing in the 'other timeline'. This video and Yong's journey are saying that her victory WAS valid and that it inspired this young bug trainer to do the same. Really nice touch, having it be the Platinum Nuzlocke and not the Ruby one.
Having Jaiden animations hinted as the first animated Nuzlockers was such an awesome hint. The animation was amazing, and the story telling was well done. Here's to hoping that Jaiden watches this and that you two get a chance to battle or even do a collabe.

I just really love how you did the Jaiden vs Cynthia match and Jaiden at the end it really reminds me of the mini episodes Pokemon puts out of each generation, where you don't see the trainer's face, and that just makes it so, SO epic. And this even if unintentional, is a nice callback to that. Also OH MY GOD you named Escavaliar after Gaia the Fierce Knight from YGO love to see it.

Butterfree is weak. Yes it has good boosting moves, yes he can poison, but he can be one shot by many things and except for bug buzz it doesn't do a lot of damage. So in competitive scenario he can shine, in a nuzlocke is just a question of "when will he die?"
Same! I had a Butterfree in my FireRed nuzlocke that lasted the whole run and even played a big role in the fight against the Elite 4. And then proceeded to snatch the win when my HeartGold Nuzlocke team faced off against my FireRed team on Mt Silver.

So if Sinnoh Jaiden is canon.... that means that the Ani'mon Universe has at least two timelines, maybe three? The "Origin" and the "Distorted" timeline. Basically the Origin is the one where Jaiden had a journey in Hoenn and maybe later continued a new journey in Sinnoh. However in the Origin timeline we know that Jaiden didn't become Champion due to losing in the Elite Four and that would imply that Young Yong wasn't inspired to go on his own journey in Galar. However in the Distorted Timeline, Jaiden did become Champion which led to Young Yon's own journey. Just a food for thought.

Almost a year later, and this video still gives me motivation to do my own buglocke! Still love the idea of Jaiden defeating Cynthia lighting a fire under almost everyone, and motivating them to take on their champions

As far as whether or not this counts as a nuzlocke, of course it does. It's a self-imposed challenge to make a children's game more difficult and fun for us not-children. Your decision to be a Champion Bug Catcher is just a cool spin on the usual rules. It's really no different than the long list of rules other people like to run. Elite Four's Aaron would be proud of you.

I really got emotional at the end with Jerry's determined stare, the power and friendship and all, what an epic moment 🥲 Your animations are amazing and your story telling really catchy, it felt like, 5 min. This was so cool to watch!!
I got ecstatic and a bit teary eyed at the end when Jerry tanked that hit. Immediately reminded me of a romhack I nuzlocked ages ago (Pokemon Unbound) where my only way to win that final bossfight was Crustle living Hoopa Unbound's Attack with Sturdy and OHKO'ing it in return. Nuzlocking gave me so many moments to appreciate non-conventional pokemon and I loved seeing the same thing in your run!
I'm a year late but boy was this fun to watch! I can totally see the inspiration of Jaiden and I love it! The art for the pokemon was absolutely beautiful!
You know. I think Yong got massively lucky when he found Grievous. Sizzlipedes have a 1% chance of spawning on Route 3. So he got insane luck in this run, considering the fact the dude even made it to the end of the run
Well, when he explained the rules of his Buglocke, he said that he can catch whatever Bug Types he wants, so it’s possible he just ignored any other encounters to search for Sizzlipede Plus, SwSh and Scarlet and Violet allowed players to see what wild Pokemon are in their surroundings and choose their encounters, whereas in previous games it’s just walk around in the tall grass and hope luck is on your side
This was pretty good, you essentially did a monotype nuzlocke. That being said. This was an entertaining video. And if you are interested in doing more, I'd suggest looking into different rulesets such as hardcore nuzlockes but only do that if you want more of a challenge. Ultimately nuzlockes are meant to be fun so really just use the most fun ruleset for you.
This took me on such an emotional journey. Let’s go, Jerry! I really hope you make more of these in the future - the effort pays off for a wonderful project.
Oh my Lord! Wonderful animation! Nuzlocks give a special light in Pokémon games. Favorite parts: Bodybuilder Nom-Nom, Jerry's comeback, evil Chairman along with "Oh, COME ON! This animation is long enough!" And the ladybug one taking care of little Nom-Nom with a psych sphere. OBS: It would be so cool if the nuzlock animators come with a tournament.
He kept making fun of Crustle and as a Unova fan I kept thinking “Don’t underestimate Crustle.” Then the finale happened and I just said “Told you so.”
Not really… keep in mind that he wasn’t doing the 1 encounter per area of a traditional nuzlocke and was only catching bug types. He mentioned that he found it after asking around, which means it wasn’t a chance encounter. It probably took a while, but it isn’t lucky if he can keep trying encounters
That’s true, but also you’d have to be searching for a while probably at the least of 15 minutes. but that (I think) is the only bug in that route (that he hadn’t caught yet)

Honestly turning a nuzlocke run into an animated story is absolutely some of my favorite Pokemon content ever! Also the music you used in this video was sick! Did you compose it yourself?

The ending actually gave me goosebumps for a potential collab between you guys. Like fighting throughout a nuzlocke attempt, kinda like an occasional rival battle.
Sorta like a Rivallock. Where after every gym badge they fight for a reward such as "swap a pokemon of your choice' and such.
Almost a year later, and this video still gives me motivation to do my own buglocke! Still love the idea of Jaiden defeating Cynthia lighting a fire under almost everyone, and motivating them to take on their champions

As far as whether or not this counts as a nuzlocke, of course it does. It's a self-imposed challenge to make a children's game more difficult and fun for us not-children. Your decision to be a Champion Bug Catcher is just a cool spin on the usual rules. It's really no different than the long list of rules other people like to run. Elite Four's Aaron would be proud of you.

It’s more like a typelocke than a Nuzlocke. Using only one type of Pokémon like that which is probably smarter for a game like sword and shield. I should try one with ghosts

I really got emotional at the end with Jerry's determined stare, the power and friendship and all, what an epic moment 🥲 Your animations are amazing and your story telling really catchy, it felt like, 5 min. This was so cool to watch!!
I got ecstatic and a bit teary eyed at the end when Jerry tanked that hit. Immediately reminded me of a romhack I nuzlocked ages ago (Pokemon Unbound) where my only way to win that final bossfight was Crustle living Hoopa Unbound's Attack with Sturdy and OHKO'ing it in return.
Nuzlocking gave me so many moments to appreciate non-conventional pokemon and I loved seeing the same thing in your run!
It's so Inspiring to see that Jaiden is inspiring other people to do the same, it's just so wholesome :w;

You know. I think Yong got massively lucky when he found Grievous. Sizzlipedes have a 1% chance of spawning on Route 3. So he got insane luck in this run, considering the fact the dude even made it to the end of the run

He didn't do the first encounter rule, so it's less impressive.
Well, when he explained the rules of his Buglocke, he said that he can catch whatever Bug Types he wants, so it’s possible he just ignored any other encounters to search for Sizzlipede
Plus, SwSh and Scarlet and Violet allowed players to see what wild Pokemon are in their surroundings and choose their encounters, whereas in previous games it’s just walk around in the tall grass and hope luck is on your side

This was pretty good, you essentially did a monotype nuzlocke. That being said. This was an entertaining video. And if you are interested in doing more, I'd suggest looking into different rulesets such as hardcore nuzlockes but only do that if you want more of a challenge. Ultimately nuzlockes are meant to be fun so really just use the most fun ruleset for you.

Favorite parts: Bodybuilder Nom-Nom, Jerry's comeback, evil Chairman along with "Oh, COME ON! This animation is long enough!" And the ladybug one taking care of little Nom-Nom with a psych sphere.
OBS: It would be so cool if the nuzlock animators come with a tournament.

I want you to know that sizzlepede has a 1% encounter rate in route three so that means you got REAL lucky to get grievous :)
Not really… keep in mind that he wasn’t doing the 1 encounter per area of a traditional nuzlocke and was only catching bug types. He mentioned that he found it after asking around, which means it wasn’t a chance encounter. It probably took a while, but it isn’t lucky if he can keep trying encounters
That’s true, but also you’d have to be searching for a while probably at the least of 15 minutes. but that (I think) is the only bug in that route (that he hadn’t caught yet)
uhhh guys there is a sizzlepede in the gym challange for the 3rd gym
@@rachelmcdermott2179 that’s also true, but lots of people (including me 😢) missed that and that’s the only other way to get a sizzlepede (except for in the crown tundra)
I been looking a year for a sizzalpede and still I have not got one (I look in every bush 100 times please help I’m still doin it)
