Yeah... I really didn't mean for this video to take so long to come out. Initially I only wanted to take a few weeks off but of course those few weeks turned into a few months. I might make a video talking about that XD. I'm just glad this one is done, and now I can get to work on the next one.

An uncle of mine had a centipede once. One of his favorite stories is how one day the centipede managed to escape and after a couple of hours he found it... eating a friggin tarantula it just killed. 20 years later my uncle still wishes he had seen the battle between those two.

It’s probably because JaidenAnimations started her UA-cam channel 2 years before Yong did. JaidenAnimations also animated small shorts for popular UA-camrs (back when her channel was very small and when she rarely uploaded her own videos), which helped her channel quickly gain traction.
iHasCupquake (a popular Minecraft UA-camr) asked chose Jaiden to animate several clips from videos she’d created, and eventually those small animations were noticed by more than just Cupquake fans.
She also has birds, two conures that most of her viewers love to see or hear about. In contrast, more people are afraid of bugs than they are birds, since parrots are seen as “cute and funny” while bugs are often seen as “creepy or gross.”
But I’d say the biggest spike in Jaiden’s channel occurred when she create the first ever Animated Pokémon Nuzlocke. Many nuzlockers reacted to her video and several PokéTubers complimented her time, effort, attempt, and overall work (both as a trainer and animator).

Black widows are super easy to care for and they're really cheap online compared to tarantulas which are a 20 year commitment. Get a red widow if you can find one, they're really docile, not inclined to bite, and their venom isn't as potent as some of the more common guys you find. Check out Arachnoboards classifieds and Facebook groups dedicated to raising them.

I use to have a ball python that lived in a pretty big tank. The top of the tank had pretty firm grasps that made it a pain to pull off, but I thought it was good enough to keep the snake from getting out, including the heat lamp that was weighing the top down with a couple of old dictionary books.
But one day, while I was just chilling out on the couch and watching tv, my cat was looking super freaked out by the tv. I was confused and assumed it was looking at some ghosts or shit, like normal cats do. I got up to check behind the coffee table, and sure enough, I saw that little snake just mosey along across the living room right in front of the tv.
No idea how he got out, but I rushed him right back into his enclosure. All I know is, snakes are tricksy bastards.

Since I started keeping snakes and lizards I always heard that there'll come a time where AT LEAST one escapes, and I was like "Yep. Dreading that day." Since life needs to keep beating me down last month I discovered that one of my desert dwarf geckos somehow escaped her enclosure and has been missing since. #irresponsibleowner, F for Wawa, she'll be remembered. Stupid story of mine short: i lost an animal without legs or eyes... the longer version of the story: i keep beetle larvaes since half a year, and the temperatures are sinking since its winter, and i wanted to heat their terrarium. but it was way too hot, and one of them somehow opened the terrarium, climbed two centimeters high( without legs!!! ), crawled away from the heat mat, jumped of the shelf, got exhausted and stopped. im so happy he did this, because otherwise i had never noticed that it was too hot and whould have killed all of them. The little heroe is doing great since then and is almost ready to pupate. but he made all of this without legs... i wonder what he will do if he gets his legs and wings.

Seriously doubt the centiped has strayed too far from your home Young Yong Tales. Odds are good that it's still near your home. It likely has made the area near your home its territory. Hunting insects at will and keeping out of sight most of the time which isn't that tough considering how quickly they can scurry around with those one hundred feet. One sure way to tell if it is still hanging around your home outside or even inside is paying attention at the insect population. If you notice that it's no longer increasing but instead stable or decreasing gradually then the centiped is obviously hunting regularly and efficiently. As for the species as a pet I'd suggest a common house centiped instead. Way less dangerous and easier to obtain. But if you want another one of the same species then good luck keeping it a second time around. New subscriber btw. Like the Jurassic Park references in your video.

I had a lot of centipedes, they can climb very high and must have a lock. They are flexible and can squeeze through tight spaces. Centipedes, when burrowing, might not ever come out again. You can leave prey in/in front of the burrow. If it refuses, then it might be melting or dead.

Eyyyyyy I’m a centipede keeper to. Your thoughts on the substrate where right btw, there isn’t much moisture in the desert. If you give a polymorpha moist substrate it will probably get a condition called mycosis. What I do for my desert centipedes is I use sand mixed with clay and only add humidity to one far end of the enclosure. Plus a water dish. If you want good info I recommend a UA-camr called ThePureLife, I know kinda pretentious name but he knows his stuff. Also polymorpha are pretty harmless, even things like scolopendra hero’s bites might not be that bad depending on how you react, I mean it will hurt but like you’ll be fine in the end. Also for a species like that you should use cross ventilation, i just have mine in one of those tall dog food containers, so I can drill holes… cuz it’s plastic.

    • @realbrooklyn2093

This does sound probable, the dead smell would attract the beetles to eat it, and that would be easier if the centipede was already moist. Small, broken up bits of dead bug like skin and legs can be easily unnoticed while sifting through substrate unless you look very closely. Though I also believe it would be easy for the centipede to escape as well. If there was any fine dust from the dirt substrate built up along the walls of the enclosure, its little legs can cling to that and walk right up. A tiny little push of the lid and its out. Either way, Im sorry it was lost.

That's very likely, considering those beetles are scavengers in nature. They could've found it mid molt and went to town. If the pede is hungry, it'll eat them within the first 5 minutes usually or until something brushes up on their feelers.

Giant tropical centipedes share their territories with tarantulas. Despite it's impressive length, it's a nimble navigator, and some can be highly venomous. As quick as lightning, just like the tarantula it's killing, the centipede has two curved hollow fangs which inject paralyzing venom. Even tarantulas aren't immune from an ambush. Any video planned for Nezuko? I'd argue vinegaroons are some of the best arachnids you can own. Don't bite or pinch (despite their clear strength to do both, they seem hard wired to instead only defend themselves with their extremely effective acid that is pretty much harmless to humans), fairly active (be sure to provide a lot of hiding space to keep them from just wandering around constantly), long-lived by invertebrate standards, incredibly fierce looking and willing to eat pretty much anything they can overpower, etc. Very easy to care for as well provided you avoid a couple potential pit falls. I have a couple myself (not housed together mind you, that way lies slaughter) and it'd be neat to see how you'd animate your own beyond the glimpse we got here.
I've long admired centipedes, but their usually inactive and reclusive natures and the apparent difficulty of balancing the right amount of ventilation and humidity turned me off of keeping any.

Theory: Grievous called Batman to come rescue him with a flashlight that accidentally fell in the enclosure. Batman arrived and took Grievous to a nearby hotel. He lives there to this day with his wife and kids and they are all one happy family.

No ya the centipede getting out the small opening in the lock is the easiest way for it to get out. I keep reptiles and all my front door enclosures have slots at the top for wires for heat rocks and those have locks but for the longes time the crickets were getting out until I actually closed the lock so the crickets would stop getting out. Also I have the centipedes that you cept in the areas around my house and it herts so much when you get bit by them I will never pick up rocks again with out checking under it and thankfully I did not crush the centipede when I droped the rock.

So, in Australia we have Freshwater Crayfish called Yabbies, theyre sold as easy to take care of pets for fishtanks, and are pretty fun to have (Mine was called Dr. Zoidberg and he gathered all the coloured pebbles in his tank and put them in a small pile).
One night I woke up at 2 am, went to the Kitchen and he was just chilling there.
He had managed to climb up to the top of the fishtank, get into the lid, push the lid open, climb out, fell all the way off his cabinet onto the floor, made his way across my room, squeezed UNDER the door, walked across the entire house, and I found him just strolling across the kitchen floor.
This aquatic bulky bug managed to ninja his way to the kitchen for snax, and was angry at ME for picking him up off the floor, waving his little claws at me like I was being an asshole.

I've only had one escapee and I know it was entirely my fault. I cleaned my snake's enclosure, moistened everything and thought I'd closed the cage. However, there was still an opening, maybe half a centimeter wide. In the morning I noticed my mistake and got nervous. Not that nervous. The enclosure is gigantic for him and he has a lot of places to hide. Chances were he was just hiding. We looked around the room just in case and lo and behold he was hiding beneath a cupboard. He must have gotten past a dog and two cats unnoticed.
