If your injectors have a return to tank hose, that is actually what a polishing system does... The term polishing describes that process... For the injectors to return to tank, first the fuel has to go through your existing engine filters... Best bet is to stop the bug from starting... Drain off the water trap in the tank every month, and dose the diesel with a conditioner every fill up... issue solved...
They have an additive for the micro biological stuff... otherwise... install a fuel polishing system... Anyone with a diesel or has had one on a boat has had to deal with this devilish problem. Kinda like the Gremlin movie..hahaha
Hi Robert - thanks mate - yeah I looked into those polishing systems - but they are expensive and I don't really have the space in my engine bay. I'm tipping in a little additive now and then these days. But it was so bad in that Genny tank I just had a new one made!
Polishing systems don't need to be expensive, made mine with an off the shelf filter and housing a cheap 12v pump and a length of fuel hose.@@SailingSVRio
You should spray lanolin on your outside of the tank and wipe it with a rag will stop the oxidation and protects it ..enjoy 👍🍻
Awesome video, how good is the surf, ballsey staying through the cyclone season but you guys nailed it. Well done.

I met a boatie the other day that said ethanol kills that diesel bug (he's a master of ships and started as a chemist in the Navy)
The NZ Navy has to fork out 10 million dollars to fix their 4 year old flagship after diesel contamination..
