As someone who has studied Shakespeare, I completely agree with you. He is a genius wordsmith. I think his songs can be read along with the sonnets anyday.

@@coomingmantis[this is a lot of unprompted information, but maybe it will help haha] Lost my dad to drunk driving at 9 (thankfully I wasn’t in the car), and I’m 30 now. Losing someone at a young age is a curse. I developed an unhealthy amount of subconscious rage towards my father for not being there, and I blamed him for dying without realizing it. My life suffered because of the way I allowed these feelings to affect my treatment of others and myself. It wasn’t until I started (therapy and) listening to Em again for the first time in like 10+ years that I could finally relate to my dad on some level and begin forgiving him. Life is tough… Not everyone handles it well.
The level of courage you must have to be so vulnerable with total strangers is one of the most inspiring things I’ve seen. And im someone who values courage more than any other attribute. It’s truly refreshing.
I’m literally crying right along with you 😭😭😭😭😭😭 omg I’m so glad I’m not the only one who gets this emotional with his songs.

One thing i notice eventhough he and Kim didn't have the happiest relationship he didn't deny how Kim really made an effort to be the best mom she could be.
What make shit do special is look at her in these bidets & she was jus wit him all these years later when he was inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame afew weeks ago ....I literally teared up..the pics of them waking in & him singing to her were so special/dope if you know & lived his story & life wit him as I did living in Detroit & rockin wit him since his battle rap days (we same age) the man a walkin miracle honestly🐐
This is one of my favorite Em songs because he is the most honest in it. Most of his song are him doing something crazy and amazing but this one really hits different. I really like it because it one of the few where he doesn't trash Kim (don't get wrong "Kim" is maybe my favorite song) and even in interviews Kim talks about how he's a REALLY good dad and says he's always been that way.
