Hooray the Warmaster is back! Yes it's a weird but welcome update for all Marine armies, but why couldn't the 2 wounds for chaos also be updated like this?
Because GW want it in the bank to ensure people buy the CSM codex! But yeah the fact that it wasn't an early dataslate is inexcusable and terrible. Anyway thank you :)
heavy intercessors are also T5 with three wounds, and i said ap1 and ap 2, as they dont have a 2+ save, custodes also have a 4++, better weapons and so on so i think it isnt as bad as i thought it was.
Hooray your back. So with this, and the iron warriors leak that's been seen, Iron warriors get immunity from AP -2 now then and only affected from AP -3 onwards? And T Sons are gna become a pain now lol
As you said power creep in 9th is bollocks. Gw just keep throwing rules on top of rules hoping it balances things, pathetic really the sorry state the game is in. I'm just gonna wait for 10th at this point.
The fact that custodes don't get this makes allarus terminators automatically drastically inferior to space marine ones. Especially death guard inflicting t4 on custodes... How come all power armor gets it but the best? Wth?
They are still WS/BS 2+ S5 T5 with 4 wounds and attacks plus 4+ invuln so I don't think that's true. Likely Custodes were not included as it was intended to bolster Marine armies which are not doing so hot, where as Custodes are still one of the stronger codexes around and don't need buffs. In fact I'm pretty sure their jetbike things got nerfed by losing Ob Sec or something like that because they are doing too good as is.
I think it's an awful rule. It makes Necrons and Orks fairly unplayable, and it turns the meta into spamming mortal wounds. And for the record: No faction benefits more from this than sisters.
Not only that it also totally kills diversity in weapon choices too, also nerfing plasma weapons vs heavy infantry (aka terminators) with that. Personally me and my friends play without armor of contempt as the games we had with it were not that fun...
@@warsmithzeke8168 1) It makes Orks (and partly Necrons) very hard to play with, as most of their weapons are AP -1 or Ap-2. Orks in particular are nerfed hard by this, as their main Anti tank weapon, the rokkit, is Ap-2. Essentially Orks will not be able to deal with AoC Terminators in cover. 2) The AoC buff- does not only benefit weak armies like Imperial Fists or Ultramarines, it also buffs strong armies like Grey Knights, Sisters, Dark Angels, Death Guard and Thousand Sons. 3) Mortal wound spam used to have a natural counter in the low ppm screens that were abundant in eighth. Building an army around mortal wound spam was risky when every second army brought 50+ 4 point models. But thats not true anymore. 4) The AoC special rule is a bandaid, and it will lead to more band-aids, when armies like Necrons and Orks needs to be re-buffed. Orks used to have a special rule, that armour saves we always capped at 4+ against them. It would be very much like GW to bring something like that back in the game. But it would also be a bad fix to a self-created problem. I don't see a clean way out of this mess. Regards
As for necrons, all your troop choices and a good ammount (though not all) of the other units got the 0 to -2 ap range on their weapons, which you usually have to pay for alongside their good durability (which still persists). So for example getting a group of Heavy intercessors off a objective while in cover with a necron warrior, veil of darkness deepstrike with gauss reapers is now very unlikely. Though in general id say necrons are less affected by it than Orks as they got some powerfull melee and ranged options but also good access to some reliable MWs without the psyker risk.
@@warsmithzeke8168 think about it this way: Sisters of battle can now field 11 point models that has a de facto 1+ save in cover. As a troop choice. Don't you think that this is a little bit crazy?

@@warsmithzeke8168 Yes you´re completely right.
Good to see you back. I agree totally, the current rules has made me abandon 9th and just gone to 30k for my night lords
As bad as 9th is becoming, going back to 7th wouldn't be any better for me! It had some stuff going for it I suppose, anyway thank you :)
Glad to have you back lol. Looking forward to more content 💪🏻
You're back!
The CSM Warpsmith is looking solid now with his 2+ armour save.
It works on vehicles too?
TRULY NOW IS THE TIME OF THE LANDRAIDER!
"Khorne berserkers being punched to death by sisters of battle" lol
glad you're back. you're allright, zeke. You know, for a heretic.
heavy intercessors are basicaly as tough as a custodian guard against ap 1 and ap 2
Aren't Custodes 2+ save with T5 and 3 wounds? I've never played or faced them yet so I'm not sure
Naaaa

Love the enthusiasm, welcome back!

Yeah it's really interesting, we'll just have to wait and see. I think I had the wrong idea in the video, might actually be crazy good

Ive seen so many broken rules in new codex so even with this buff SM will not be able to compete
It certainly will, Nids have very clear weaknesses that new marines can exploit (and I intend to as well as a dark eldar player)
Great vid 🙂

How does it make Orks and Necrons unplayable? And since when was spamming mortal wounds not preferable?
