Hello there, the Chaos Codex in the vid was to allow players to personalise there armies. You could add traits such as veteran skills, deamonic abilities, specialities for each Chaos Pantheon. The previous Codex to this one was a little plain, not too much in the cupboard to interest things. Now the 5th Edition Chaos Codex, you could only buy a heavy weapon if you had squads of 10 Chaos Marines! You couldn't use Chaos Cultists at the start of 5th Ed! Or the Lost & Damned. Even later Chaos Codexes suffered with prison like squad sizes! Where is the flexibility?

The Empire was basically basic Pike and Shotte era human faction with a little bit of magic thrown in. It was the most basic and realistic one of them all. 6th edition was when a lot of the factions got their grim elements emphasized. Some people didn't like that. I prefer to think of this as their society evolving with each edition. Because in fantasy, the world actually changed and the story progressed over time.

I used to sit at the back with minimum units of fully upgraded skeletons and summon them up to stupid sizes.

I won't touch 40K now and stick with my almost complete Heresy force. Monopose, crap rules, rules updated too often, FOMO, lame designs, and the purple hair brigade newcomers who post on Twitter and TikTok.

My favorite codex ever was 3rd edition CSM. Get a lord with 40 man retinue of chosen, give em all mark of khorne, banner of rage, and 2 hounds of khorne. Profit from over 1500 attacks in a round of combat!

I hated he end times, and Age of Sigmar.I do not like the round bases. I do not like the storm cast. I do like the snake girls.I do not like the way the Skaven are. I was building a bretonnia army till the end times.

Do a review on dark elves, wood elves, high elves, Skaven. Can you make a ghost army? I’m not a zombie fan. There are zombie, movies,tv shows, video games, etc. they are not the scariest monsters.

What a terrible codex it was. We had rules for each of the nine legions. There were reams of daemonic gifts and special items that allowed no two chaos lords to be alike. There was the ability to create lists to suit just about any style of play. There were special characters for the legions. Each of the four gods had their own daemons that were all special in their own way. Truly, we were blessed when GW released the replacement codex in 2007 that allowed for absolutely none of the above and made sure that all Chaos armies were bereft of character....

I have about 6000 pts of Brits plus 5000 pts empire, and 4000 pt worth of mercs and I have never played the game because I don't know anyone who plays. Heavy sigh.

Great vid, I respect your perspective. Keep them coming. I think Murderous perfect is a sleeper. "Chage a dice to a 6" remember 6s explode. T1, you have a small back field CSM unit with a laz hidden out of sight. They move t1 making the laz 4+ to hit. He misses of course, boom it is a 6 for 1 cp. 2 laz shots now hit. Same with the dred you brought up. Boom that hammer just missed with its to hit... boom nope now it went from a miss to 2 hit. A unit of 10 tzeench csm that have icon and just bolters would be where you would use hatered eternal for shooting. Those ap-1 bolters might be used to clear screens for the black mace bikers that seem to be the bees knees. You could also pop a cp to give them 6 extra inch and a second ap. Ap -2 with 40 shots is not bad. 1k sons show what it can do.

The best codex to date, almost to flexible lol

The exact moment I started to fall out with 40k was when grenades started being auto included rather than a thing you could buy. Such fond memories of people who wouldn't buy frag grenades and would then complain when they got beaten to death by enemies in cover as if it was anyone's fault but theirs.
