I love that each of the musicians supports the song perfectly and in an exceptionally minimum way. There isn't anything that detracts from the singer's performance. That is true on all of their songs. That is the beauty of LSD.
Rachael Price is one of the best vocalist that you have never heard about unless you are a Lake Street Dive fan. This group was formed when they all studied music an the New England Conservatory of Music. They are all very talented trained musicians. Rachael is also a very talented jazz singer but her gig with LSD singing pop music pays the bills.
Yes and I’m not sure if you know where their band name comes from, but it is a street that bisects Minneapolis east and west called Lake Street and yes there are quite a few dives along that path, there guitarist is from Minnie my home town and my friend plays drums in LSD’s keyboardist’s band small world right?
The circularity of it being Bonnie Raitt mentioning them as a band she listened to in an interview around 2015 makes me happy. I went searching for them on here when I read that and from that day put them at number one on my list of bands to see in person. No matter where in U.K they play I'm travelling to see them.
Bravo. Elegant. Completely true to Bonnie Raitt’s masterpiece. And yet distinctive in its own right. Brave of any vocalist to take things up where Bonnie left off. I mean that is one hell of a (powerful) voice (and guitarist, and songwriter). But I suspect Bonnie herself would be proud of what Rachel Price has done with her song.
I love Rachel Price's voice; for anyone with any taste she's about the best vocalist working popular music these days. She's also gorgeous to look at. Sigh.
Second best version of this song (nobody can beat the original). And sounding like a 1970s band in 2022? Really ? Kudos to Lake Street Dive for doing great running against the current (yes, they're walking, actually running, on water on this one).
Where's the audience? Cool looking stage and as usual LSD (great acronym) killed it. Great song and sound. I agree that 🥰the bass could be higher in the mix.🎸🎶👍
@@trentonkhull You are not wrong. I don't know for sure but it could be a Left/Right mix right off the live sound board. Which would explain the over hyped reverb/ lack of bass. Because its mixed for the PA with big subs and not for a recording.
Where's the bass? Mixed really really low here, for me anyway. Would have been nice to actually hear that Hofner (or copy thereof). Nice rendition (anything by these guys is fantastic), but I much prefer the one in the bathroom with just guitar as accompaniment (same guy) - the natural reverb really pulls everything together, especially the backing vocals, which are a little thin here. And yeah, is this guy the new guitar player? I'll miss McDuck's trumpet if so, but new guy seems quite accomplished. I might have backed off a bit on the chorus effect on this one though...
Yeah. Really odd because it's a really nice mix. Whoever did it knew what they were doing, yet somehow didn't notice that they forgot to bring up the bass fader! As a bass player, this has happened to me more times than I like to think about.
Just ordered the vinyl. I don't own a turntable. I just want the hardcopy of anything you guys do as LSD or other individual projects. Where can I find Promises Promises?
Great rendition, and the singer is great! But as someone else mentioned, where's the bass? That is the defining sound and heartbeat of this song. I am a bass player and have played this for years. I just feel it was looked over and was not giving any credit in this version.
This sounds like a board mix (mostly vocals with some guitar and very little drums. The bass is almost non-existent. Too bad because Bridgett rocks whether she's playing upright or electric bass gtr.
I could NOT hear any bass guitar in the mix. I've always heard bass when Bridget plays the UPRIGHT BASS, but never hear the Hofner electric. LOVE her bass playing!!
What's the deal with all the covers lately? You all are more than talented enough to write your own. Don't get me wrong. You're doing the songs brilliantly but I miss YOUR work.
they just post the cover now, because two of us cover is from halloween 2020 and they posted it because valentine day , Thank you for being a friend cover is from lounge sound variety hour in november 2020 they posted it because betty white passed away, nick of time cover in a bathroom is for get down hometown peformance one month ago, and they filmed it actually around september 2021, and this peformance is from hardly strictly bluegrass concert around october 2021, and last you make my dream come true cover is annual things for Halloween 2021. and they release album obviously just last year so its pretty brand new
LSD has always done covers, and I think they do them better than just about any other band. I’ve always said that the best songwriters also do the best covers; they understand how to interpret a song rather than merely replicating it.
I could listen to this woman sing the phone book. Damn, she's just amazing.
One area code at a time.

@@jamesgallagher7687 Yes, great connections! (And compared to the dives on Franklin, Lake Street's are divine :))
You make it sound like she is only in that band for money
This band is way more than just a “pop” band
True Superstars the world needs more of this.....

I was lucky enough to see them in the UK pre pandemic, they were all amazing ……..but Brigit…..oh Brigit !!
I'm so in love with Rachael. Her voice is what I imagine the Angels sound like when they sing in heavens choir!!

This Girl! This Band!
I heard them for the first time in Colorado Springs last year and OMG, they are my new favorite band. I would love to see them again.👍
Rachael is now wearing a wedding ring...BUMMER.
A true talent feels the song and adds her own soul thank you
"I've been too long at the fair" would be another good one for them!
I can't listen to this song without tearing up it's so perfect
Thanks for sending up a so sublime faithful rendition of Bonnie's timeless song.
I saw them at radio City I wish they had did this song it never gets old it's such an amazing version
This is incredible. Her voice is from another world
This just made me love the song more
Please release this on spotify as an acoustic rendition of the song!
This is magic.
They are an excellent group! Rachael is so amazing!
I got tickets...i cant friggin wait!!!!
They really are unlike anyone else in bringing so much out of the og song in a cover. Lake street 4e
Best version of this song!
This girl is ON FIRE!
Sublime - Bonnie would be proud!
Thank you for this
thanks for this.

Gorgeous rendition
The sound is great and LSD par excellence as usual.
Great voice and beautiful !!

I love this song and love LSD! Please come to Japan !
Rachel, oh man 😍🔥

Every bit as good as the original!
Wow
😎
OH! MY!
Highest quality sound ever on UA-cam.
Reduction in perfection - this is jawdropping. Which sound source is this? Thanks for uploading!
good lord
Listen to some of the "Stars" sing, then listen to the best: Rachael Price.

Somebody .help me. I can't get connected and I'm super frustrated. Thanks!
did she say Bonnie Ray?
Do they have a new guitarist?
Yes...apparently McDuck left the band.
Yes, McDuck left the band last year. James Cornelison is the new guitarist.
Scrooge mcduck tried to dive into his pool of gold coins again and broke his hands and legs so he left the band
LSD: the new cool.

I agree, the mix isn't great
new ( O)===:::ist - cool
Great cover. But as everyone else noted, the bass is unfortunately buried in the mix.
Where is all the Bass guitar?
Turning down Bridget Kearney in the mix is not only a mistake, it should be a crime.
Get Bridget a Precision bass.
Saw your bathroom version first. lol
A bit more polish on this one.
No bass.
