This is how I do it:
I record a total of 4 takes in Logic and shooting videos from different angles. Then I end up using the best two takes for the audio and use all 4 camera angles.
    Makes sense?

Yep they get a bad rap because many of their amps are inexpensive but their not cheap. And they last. Right on Peavy. Lots of great and famous musicians have and do use them. I love their stuff.

This is an amazing little amp for very little money. I have played live with it, run it direct out the headphone jack in both studio and live situations and it always delivers. No it doesnt sound like a $5000 tube head, but its better then any Line 6 or other modeling amp out there. This is one of my favorite amps I have ever owned.
This amp SLAYS EVERYTHING in its price range.

    • @cheloronaldo
      @cheloronaldo 10 років тому +14

Jackson Sullivan It is still nothing that ''fancy/expensive''. The microphone is a shure sm57 of $90 or $100 bucks. You can use it with any audio interface (m-audio) even with the ones of $80,$90 bucks with just 1 instrument input. and then panning left and right. But It is still something ''extra'' that you have to buy ir order to get this sound.

Vadim Taranov But you just can't do that, when you show an amp you can't tune it to sound like you do in your band, you need to show more sounds of the amp. I've seen like 7 or 8 videos of Ola about monster amps. If I were to buy a new amp, I wouldn't care about which to choose, because to me they sounded all like the same...

I have the 30W model. Very good for the value, if you know how to set it up you're looking a one of the best modelling amps out there in the market. The clean channel is superb when I play with a modified strat with Lace Sensors. Distortion is what gets this amp a 9/10 overall in my opinion. Tubescream combined with JSX or XXX and you're rocking.

Anyways, what i'm getting at... this demo is a PERFECT example of how great this amp sounds. Mine sounds almost identical in recordings as this one does. It does a REALLY good job at emulating the the characteristics of a tube amplifier.

These amps are amazing. I own a Vypyr 30w and 120w 2x12 tube. Of course there is always room for evolving your tone. But, I found a tone I'm happy with on the Vypyr. I don't even want an Axe-Fx anymore either because of how good of a tone you can get out of these amps. It also can "djent" very well. Hopefully, they do an adaptation in the future, making the Vypyr a cheaper multi-effects processor version of the Axe-Fx.

I have this amp the key with the high gain amps is. More mids, pull out some of the highs n blend in the lows with less gain. It does sound good at low volume a know issue is rattles at higher volumes so if u can aim for volumes between 1-3 n add a nosie gate to clean up unwanted buzzing . Even a modern amp will have issues an if it's under 200 there could b a list of 'issues'. If u can find one local buy it an remember how you EQ one amp Sim might not work for the next one u try. Just try what I said . More metal!🎸

Those of you that are complaining obviously know very little about gear, and how much difference a $1500 verses a $500 guitar really are. There ARE differences but they arent as drastic as you may think they are. If you think Buying a Solar 7 and a Randall Statan are the answer to your tonal woes then you are mistaken. Listen to EVERYTHING Ola has done, it all sounds very similar. This is because 95% of your tone is in your hands. I have a Vypr 15 and I LOVE it. I use it in my studio as well :)

It really sounds awesome till I got "defanged" it and got rid of all these disturbing resonances. I have to say I love this amp for what it is and couldn't, even nowadays, imagine any better amp in the practice range, except a boss Katana - but this would be more expensive. for me: i dont care how the amp "naturally" sounds. I will hear what is POSSIBLE with it, and Ola yust show you examples of possibilitys of the amps. And i think Ola is awesom in recording, he knows exactly what to do to make it sound like this. Sure, he uses sure sm57 which changes the "naturally" sound a little bit, than he uses EQ and also adding a 2nd track for more powerful sound. I love this and this is what i want to hear, i want to hear what you can do with this amps

It shouldn't, the distortions analog. Try downloading the patch update from the Peavey website.

Someone mentioned a "scooped" or "bedroom" mix as a bad thing. Are you saying I should get rid of my bedroom and sleep in my living room? Another thing, i do like loads of drugs and grew by hair and beard, and I still suck. I practice like 1-2 hours a month. What gives?

I can get some awesome tones out of mine, also. I have the 15 and 30 and am very happy with what I get from them. I can get tones that sound as good as what you're getting on this demo, so I know this is no B.S. Now if i could just play as well as you do.

it has analog distortion, I have one, I noticed that it's the same analog distortion for each channel, it's just that they play with an internal EQ I would say to make it sound like other popular amps

I know exactly what you mean with that, I have the 15w version but now I'm starting to play in a band and finally I have an excuse to buy a new amp :)

This is actually the most brutal sounding of all the cheap, SS amps you've done. It's pretty damn good.
