16. The hard work begins - how not to clean the hull of a narrowboat - blacking begins in earnest

Welcome back to Buzzy's Boaty. It's the following day and we are straight back to Hesford marine to start the painting. But first, I need to remove the hard, dry green stuff from the bottom of our boat. A hard brush, many buckets of water later and 3 hours under my belt and she's all clean. Time to start applying the fresh blacking paint.
Karon starts the painting in the bedroom, only surfacing to supervise/offer some careful words of guidence. A great day. Slow going but you have to start somewhere.

Hesford Marine is a Do It Yourself boatyard. By renting hard standing on the boat yard you can carry out repairs and maintenance, either by yourself of by choosing a tradesman of your own choice.
