    ### WARNING WARNING YOUR BALL VALVE WILL FAIL IN COLD WEATHEas a past farmer in Tasmania you will need TWO ball valves in line BECAUSE WHEN YOU CLOSE YOUR ONE VALVE you have isolated water within the ball and when it frezzes it will explode the ball THE ONLY WAY is to close the ball valve close to the tank then open the last valve and let the water in that ball valve flow out. Then close that valve which now only has air within the valve and the open the valve close to the tank so that water when it freezes can easily move back up the pipe thus not damaging the valve tap. As you can understand water when freezes it has to EXPAND Cheers Rolnd from Australia

Ball valves are the only way to have stable taps in freezing conditions as all normal taps still have water surrounding the seal but a ball valve with air in the ball area is a guarantee the no freezing water can do any damage cheers Roland

You know, every time I see someone messing with tanks, it makes me even more happy that we don’t have them. We’re going to be starting a remodel on our cargo very soon. I’m pretty excited about it. I have found spray glue in hot summertime melts & becomes very unstuck & just makes a mess. Originally used it on some vinyl in camper build to cover some wood & plastic panels. Found out to my cost all spray glues does this. Found best glue to use is old fashioned Evo stick in metal tub. Like videos says glue & let get tacky then fold or press down material. I insulated my tank with same material but used silver insulation tape, then wrapped in tarpaulin & installed. Had to remove insulation once as drain valve fitting snapped. Never had any issues removing & reinstalling insulation & reinstalling. Tarpaulin was held on with gaffa tape. Again gaffa tape became unstuck with heat. But reapplied. Tank was basically wrapped like a parcel & could be easily removed in two parts.

    Lovely job wrapping your tank.
Unfortunately that foil bubble wrap is pretty poor as an insulator fine for reflecting radiant heat in or out but rather poor at insulating.
It has a thermal conductivity value of 0.67 W/mk (watts per meter of thickness per degree kelvin)
By way of contrast recycled pop bottle insulation has a conductivity value of 0.04 W/mk and Celotex has a conductivity value of 0.022 W/mk but clearly they are both impractical for wrapping your tanks
I won’t bore you with the science of thermal conductivity but if you do go anywhere and find that your water is still freezing even with bubble wrap, you may want to consider using Armaflex sheet as it has a thermal conductivity value of 0.033 W/m2k (The lower the number the better the performance)
All that said I bet the Chrissy presents you wrap look really neat

    • @stevendavies8070

That bubble wrap is useless, might of well used old carpet, me personally I would of used lagging in bags, like the ones on cistern tanks, glued it all on then used the foil wrap and glue to hold it all together, I would of then bought a bycycle inner tube and gut it into strips and spray glued it to the uni strut or whatever you are using to hold the tank in place, to stop the brackets rubbing the insulation away, due to van transmission/ vibration, and flexing.
