    Unless that switch was dripping excessively like a drip a second it would not cause a dangerous loss in pressure

      When you drive and it's hot like over here in Andulucia you loose your oil quick enough. I know because I have a faulty oil pressure switch and I didn't notice it at first. Thought it came from a different place. I going to buy a new one to fix it.

      I have a dripping one, with the pressure light for 2 seconds but no cutting out or nothing, think I’m lucky but bought a new one anyways

    Hi there. Was wondering if all models would have the green rubber band seal? My cords is leaking oil from this area however when I flicked it open, it actually didn’t have the green seal.
    My corsa is a Vauxhall 1.2 2009 model.

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  6 років тому

      If oil is around the connector the switch needs replacing, the green seal is to keep water out of the plug👍🏻👍🏻

    I bought my daughter a 2008 Corsa Breeze and shortly after getting it had to replace the Oil Pressure switch (oil everywhere in the engine compartment). All seemed fine but now (started today) the Oil Pressure light has come back on...surely cant be another pressure switch....only been 3 months since the last one...oil levels etc are all correct....any thoughts appreciated.

      it is possible, but a common one is the oil filter cartridges collapse, pop it out and have a look Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    Could this cause the engine shudder when stationary?
    I’ve had an intermittent oil light and rough idle. Took my Corsa to the garage and they replaced the Spark Plugs and Ignition Coil but this did nothing to fix the problem. Thinking it had been fixed I took the car out and next thing I know there is oil all over my engine and inside of the bonnet and puffs of black smoke coming out the exhaust.

      The pressure switch might be leaking unlikely to cause misfire, thanks for the comments 👍🏻👍🏻

    I have a Vauxhall Corsa D 2008 model and frequently when I start up the car the oil pressure warning light comes on and then goes off after I pull away; I’ve also noticed some oil on my driveway. After checking the oil level I’m about half full. Is this something that would just require a simple top up and switch change? Any help would be greatly appreciated 👍🏻

    • @aaanton11

      Try unplugging the the oil switch, if there is oil dripping from the switch it will need replacing, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    Would this cause the engine to be extra loud I’ve had the switch change before it’s leaking again but very little oil is still full but the engine is very loud and shaky even when idle

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  Рік тому

      If the engine is loud ie knocking you might have engine damage due to lack of oil or pressure, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    I've overfilled my Corsa C with oil and I need to drain it. I know there's a bolt on sump on the bottom from your other cracking video, but if I can't get at it, will the excess oil drain out through the pressure switch if I loosen the bolt all the way off? Not bothered if it makes the engine a bit oily. CHeers

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  5 років тому +1

      Not a good idea to remove the oil pressure switch as when you crank or rotate the engine there will be no oil pressure, and it could damage your bearings you would be much better off to just crack off the sump bung and let the required amount out and then put in the bung back in again, if you do it on a high curb it will save you Jacking the car up👍🏻👍🏻Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻

    • @aaanton11

      aaanton11 so would it be worth changing the switch over first, seeing if that resolves it first? Or would it be worth skipping that stage and going straight to a garage?

    Wondering if you could help. I've just bought a 07 corsa club 1.2 from a dealership and literally have had it for less than a week and noticed when I use the clutch and brake together, the oil pressure comes on for a minute. Even smelt a burning smell yesterday. As I've only used it back and forth work, the journey is a lot of stop and start so this isn't good. The car got serviced before I picked it up so not lack of oil and a family member checked it and couldn't see an oil leak. Any idea what could be causing the light to come on?

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  6 років тому

      Sounds more a electrical fault, if the light only comes on when the brakes pressed, you might have a chafed wire above the pedal, or a bad earth, the switches are prone to fail, so change that first and see if the fault is still there 👍🏻👍🏻

      aaanton11 . I've read somewhere that the latest Corsa c (2006) has a better switch better timing chain tensioners too. Not 100 percent sure on this though. The good thing about Corsa is the parts are very cheap and easy to find.toyota parts are hard to find and expensive
