    Thank you. My switch was pissing oil all over the engine. I changed this myself in five minutes. Sprayed the engine with degreaser. Nice and clean now. All for less than a tenner. Vauxhall wanted over £100. Independent wanted £60. Changing it even stopped that annoying 'inspection' flashing on the dashboard. Good vid, thank you.

    Wish I'd seen this video back in January. Had an oil leak then and my mechanic replaced the switch - £60. Same thing happened last month - £60 again. After watching this I went to a car parts shop, bought an oil pressure switch for the sum of £4.99 for next time it happens! Thanks for uploading this - all other tips welcome. I refuse to be a victim of car mechanics ever again - and save myself a small fortune in the process.

    The little green rubber bit - should that always stay on the cable end? When removing mine, the green bit stays int he sensor (engine side). I can get it out though.
    It seems to come loose when driving which then gives oil light at idle.

    Great video! I've replaced the oil switch on my Corsa. When I plug the cap back onto the switch the green plug is missing so the connection is secure but not oil tight. I've been all over to get a replacement but no luck and Vauxhall say it is not a part they supply! In this situation what would you do? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Looks like the same engine found in 1.4 Astra h Z14XEP. Is this a corsa c or a d?

    • @bluudysgarage
      @bluudysgarage  10 років тому

      may look similar, but again this is a 1.2 from a Corsa C (proberly same engine in the older D's though)

  • @prabeta
    @prabeta 4 роки тому

    The engine (Astra H 1.4 MK5) low pressure light turns on intermittently (especially during low speed) then turning on/off like disco lights only to go out at high speed.
    Do you think its a sensor issue, please?

Say needs replacing some sort of capillary action and not advise to drive. In lay mans terms can anyone help on what this means. Thanks

    I've overfilled my Corsa C with oil and I need to drain it. I know there's a bolt on sump on the bottom from your other cracking video, but if I can't get at it, will the excess oil drain out through the pressure switch if I loosen the bolt all the way off? Not bothered if it makes the engine a bit oily. CHeers

    • @bluudysgarage
      @bluudysgarage  5 років тому

      Hi. I guess it depends how much you had filled it. Normally you wouldnt get much.

  • @taylorwalker6052

    Do you need to drain the oil before replacing the switch. Cheers

    • @bluudysgarage
      @bluudysgarage  4 роки тому

      Nope. As the switch it on the top of the engine. There will be a few drops from it that's about it.
