    Glad you sorted it out, just subscribed as I have been watching your great vids on the TV and couldn't sign in on the box. Keep the cracking work up. So nice to see every day cars being worked on and kept alive. Your Dad's trike is interesting. Look forward to seeing more on that as it progresses.

    I really like these videos. I've never owned a Vauxhall, never want to own a Vauxhall, not my cuppa tea at all. But, the dedication to what the majority of people see as "just a Corsa" is quite something, and it gets a big thumbs up from Me. Enjoy the content, great to chill out to. Hope your channel grows even bigger dude.

    Whenever I do a gasket like that, I always put a (very thin) coat of instant gasket on both sides of the gasket. I find it just helps with sealing. Great video - thanks and keep it up!

    the part u was pointing to for the coolant leak was the egr valve housing but on some 1.2 engines the egr wasn't installed but the housing is that but so to find the gasket you'll prob need to search egr valve gasket

Renault say too use a special tool to install the seal is Vauxhall the same?? Love the channel thanks so much for all the stuff you do I can well imagine its not easy to film and do the work.

    Hey James, funny how things work out, but thought I would share, but I know this car is probably scrap now, but if the reason was, even after replacing the the rear main seal was still leaking after replacement, there is also a 3rd place it leaks from, which again is an engine out job. But it can leak from the gear box side on the 'alloy cradle' aka crank base plate (which holds crank. So if you to do the engine in order of layers working down it goes cylinder head } head gasket }engine block } sealant } CRANK BASE PLATE } sealant } lastly sump. It leaks on the sealant in top of the base plate, exactly on that corner which would have been easy to see once the gearbox is seperated. You may have known this but I literally found this out a few days ago from a guy who restorers Vauxhall Corsa C and D for a retirement living. Just thought I would share if it was.something that had your head scratching. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

  • @luke123918
    @luke123918 5 років тому

    If you can slacken the subframe bolts of do so, but leave the drivers rear corner bolt in, allows the subframe to dropped enough to move the gearbox out and then you can removed the gearbox mount of and move it further into the passenger wheel well, Not sure if you have one, the clutch alignment tools you can get of ebay for under a tenner are not bad for tight spaces (The ones made of plastic)

    The thing to note about the new seal was it was brown, usually indicative of it being a VITON seal, viton is such a vastly superior material and you can get viton sizes in most seal sizes, which like bearings are sized inner-outer-width.
    Allseals in Norwich is your friend, good video though

  • @fqcraigus
    @fqcraigus 5 років тому

    You should get yourself some red hilomar. The practice of sealer gasket sealer is well used in the industry, I use this method sometimes but try avoid using silicon sealer, it oozes where you don’t want it and after time goes hard, cracks them leaks where as the hilomar never actually sets, it’s oil resistant so not affected and not bothered by heat

  • @Ian-ic3kf

    Excellent work on the oil leak. Can you tell me what the coolant problem turned out to be? I have a corsa C with a similar problem and had the gasket changed by the egr mount like you suggested but didn't fix the problem. Could it be the egr valve mount itself?
