    There actually was a cartoon in the works, and an opening theme song clip was produced (I’ve seen it before). I wish it would have made it into full production!

    My grandma's brother Jim was a collector of star wars and aliens toys. My little brother inherited a lot of his kenner loose aliens. Some variants were wild looking..glow in the dark!

    This brings back memories. I remember buying the 18 inch 1979 kenner alien. Bought it for 5 dollars at toys r us. Played with it along side my star wars figures and Shogun Worries. Who knew the alien 79 would be worth alot. Yes I am kicking myself. Yes may I have another each time I think of having this great alien piece as a child. Thanks junkman for doing an alien vid.

      that thing sat at a flea market on the same table, displayed in the same spot up high. i stared at it every time we entered and left the flea market. i didnt know what it was. jump ahead to ten years and its still sitting there. i know what it is and im saving up my pennies for it. new driver me and my little bit of chores money got up early, invited friends to go along to get that Alien toy and whatever else we found.
      the old man that had the table died! i often wonder who ended up with that alien.

    I thought the Kenner Aliens toys were interesting. However, I didn't care much for the human figures in this line. The different various aliens (including the queen alien) were pretty awesome. I never bought them, but remember seeing them in the toy aisles. I think that the figures released from Retro Action a few years back were really cool from the first Aliens movie. Supposedly, they were made from molds originally made by Kenner back in 1979. However, the large Alien Kenner figure was so scary that it was pulled from shelves and they decided not do the 3-3/4 scale figures.

    I don't really remember this line but I do remember hanging out at the comic book store. It was always fun and I would always end up spending more money then I intended to. I had a job back then where I worked odd hours so I would hang out there at different times of day and different days of the week and I got to know most of the regular costumers. Good memories.

What’s sad is most people read this comment and think what an iddot there worth so much less. We’ll I promise you on your death bed your letting ur son open your alien toys will not be running threw your head and if it does it will be the joy of the moment that I promise u whatever money those toys would of got ya would give u! My son reached the age where he thought Aliens were cool (even though he isn't allowed to watch the movies) and I pulled them out of the boxes and he and I ripped open all of them. He's probably done playing with them already (this was a year or two ago) but the time he enjoyed playing with them was worth it to me.

    Me and my brother had most of these toys. They were awesome, and the comics were a cool bonus.
    My favorite was definitely the exploding Alien at 9:20. You pressed a button and it would explode, complete with gory red ribcage bursting out.
    The Aliens were much cooler than the humans in this set. And also, you could scare your parents or sister with that little rubber facehugger.

  • @machineman6498
    @machineman6498 3 роки тому +1

    Bought almost all of these with the intention of animating them. Kinda lost interest when the humans were so far off. Then Robot Chicken lowered the bar for stop motion and decided to shelve that idea. The Scorpion is pretty good film-wise.

    • @Pjoseph23
      @Pjoseph23 3 роки тому

      Love your user name! The stop motion idea sounds really fun, but I totally understand why you wouldn’t pursue it. I’ve played with doing photo comics by shooting action figures but don’t know if it’s worth the time involved in setting it up. It might actually be more labor intensive than drawing a comic.

    I remember a friend of mine got the Wild Boar alien figure as a gift at some Christmas party he went to. I thought it was so cool that I finally found one for myself. Then I met a new friend who had the Snake, Mantis and Rhino aliens. I thought the Wild Boar alien figure was cool, but damn when I saw that Snake and Mantis aliens I HAD to have them. I eventually talked him into trading me all three for something, but I can't remember what. Then I bought a random lot of Alien figures off ebay that had the Gorilla, Panther, Killer Crab and two big face hugger figures. And later on I bought the Bull Alien. Always really wanted the Queen, Scorpion and Night Cougar aliens as well as the orange Rhino alien variant but never got them, sadly.

    Really like the Kenner ALIENS line. Nice change of pace That Junkman, didn’t think you would discuss this line. Loved the vehicles, the Power Loader was cool, but the Stinger XT-37 and Evac Fighter look great. Definitely preferred the Xenomorphs and would love to get the Aliens from this line. One of the greatest Kenner toylines, surprised it lasted from 1992-1995 but that was one of Kenner’s strengths.

    You are so right about this being a big draw for adults. I was getting Batman Animated and Toy Biz Marvel, but these were a whole other level of cool. I had most of the Aliens. I’m fuzzy on if I had the gorilla Alien or not. I didn’t know Tony Harris’ work until Starman a year or 2 later. In fact, I don’t remember the comic books at all. Weird since I’ve always been a much bigger comic collector. I definitely had the Queen, Snake, Bull, and Scorpion. Like you, I didn’t really see the Alien movies until I was in my 20s. I had caught all of the original in the 80s, but completely out of order. Alien 3 was my first and I honestly loved it. It gets a lot of hate, but as my first one it was pretty awesome. Cool video JM!

    I don’t know how I missed this video. Anyway I was stationed in Germany in 1992 and I remember seeing these at the Army PX and this was probably one of the first toy lines that I started collecting as an adult. I just focused on the alien figures though and never owned any of the human characters.
    The Scorpion Alien was also my favorite because it was the closest to the xenomorphs in the movie. Oddly enough I only bought one, even though it seemed like a natural figure to army build.

    I had these figures and they were awesome. I remember going to Target with my mom and getting the Alien Queen, Bishop and the scorpion alien. The Scorpion alien was my favorite because it closely mirrored the movie version and how it would explode when you push the button. The comics were also quite well done and nicely illustrated and the packaging was awesome too. Anyway.
