I love the monster designs sooo much! Every one of them looks menacing but also friendly at the same time, so they can double as companions for the player at some point in the game. This looks like a game that will do great on Switch!!
A Switch port would be awesome!

Hey just coming from the "How NOT to make an indie game" video, it looks like you did manage to keep a lot of the ideas from the original game after all, capturing patches, planting gardens etc. I thought this was just a straight up bullet hell game now, glad to see a lot of stuff stayed. Btw I'm just curious, are you working on the game full time or is this a side project you work on outside of a day job?

Been around since almost the start, it's insane how far you have gotten. I have wanted to play the game a few times but it's not my type of game so I never actually went out of my way to play it. Good luck in finishing the game, I may try it one day :)

Hey, this sounds really cool!
One thing that I wasn't sure on was the metroidvania part, it doesn't seem to have the typical metroidvania mechanics? Or at least out of what you explained I didn't fully see it. The core mechanic of metroidvanias (as I see it) is finding abilities that unlock new paths that were previously blocked, and it seemed like most of the abilities were general upgrades rather than unlocking paths?
Is this planned later or are you inspired from other parts of metroidvanias?
There is something about mounting another creature that speaks to me on a substantial level.
Can't wait to see what you do with the NPCs from old versions x)

Ideas:
Angry monster trait: makes it not tameable
Original bosses (bosses that aren’t beeg versions of enemies)
Floof: a new monster. It is slightly easier to catch then others.
It’s appearance is similar to an eevee, but not exactly a direct clone.
You can make minor edits to these ideas, if you want.

It's created using the trail module inside of Unity's Shuriken particle system. This module renders the path that each particle travels through.

Saw the Game Talk you gave and this is a great project. Tho I think the original concept is cool. One thing however is the game demographics. The art makes it more kid friendly so maybe switch and tablet release would be more successful than steam (you should do them all, at seperate times) maybe add intresting animal facts too.
I don’t mean to sound like a jerk but I have a handful of criticism aimed at this trailer (the first minute of this video). Please use this Criticism (or don’t) to your advantage and improve on future projects. :)
Background music: Clearly a Feudal Japanese vibe especially with the “yoooo” sound effect, the instrument were most definitely Japanese. The game just doesn’t go well with this kind of music. Instead I would recommend a happy Rodeo/Cowboy era music since this game features heavily the lassoing feature.
Text: “Dungeons...” is such a boring text to put in a trailer. At least phrase it something similar to: “Explore Dungeons... (scene cuts to traps and moving fire blocks)”, “ Obtain Treasures, (a face paced montage of some unique treasures)”
Not to mention the sound design is a bit lacking too, what happened to the animal sounds, breathing sounds, rolling sounds (the armadillo). A lot of indie games don’t make it because of their character’s lack of personality
The title screen at the end looks brilliant though. It’s a beautifully crafted logo and the pace at which it’s shown is quite suitable. Well done.
Take my Criticisms as you will. I am no game designer/trailer designer but I can tell one that could use some work. Your trailer has potential, keep it up!

They're too large, but you can mount their children (which will be the same species)
If you can I think you should try and get it listed on GOG and the Epic Games store as well as I know they have fairer revenue splits than Steam and also that's more people who may check out your game, if you can't I understand but I believe it would be helpful for you if you're able.

I love the concept and execution but your trailer from the beginning needs to remove the weird voice clips it's jaring and ruins the feeling you get from the music you picked
