- So...I've had a chance to sleep on it, and decide where I go with this project. Am I going to park it up, will I tackle it myself? Shall I stick it on eBay, or could I pay someone to sort it. Ould it just be easier to scrap it, or should I part it out to fund other projects?
Tune in and find out. What would you do? Am I doing the right thing? Comment and tell me.

Love the old fords ,the temperature issue you be a lazy or stuck thermostat
They’re brilliant aren’t they. Must admit…a mk2 would be 🤩 but the mk4 is pretty cool.
Fingers crossed for a quick fix for the cooling issue, I’ve not dug into it yet! Whatever it is, I don’t think it’s super dramatic as it took ages to get to operating temp when it was sat in my drive. Might even be an air lock somewhere. 🤷
Pull the radio, the previous owner may have wrote the code on the back of the unit, the heater direction control could be just a stuck rod/cable maybe no harm to remove it when the radio is out could be a easy fix 👍👍
Yeah, I wondered if there might even be a factory label on the radio, these OEM ones were never targeted by thieves. Unless you lived in Gipton like I did, in which case everything got robbed. 🤣 😂 Fingers crossed re the heater control. I do like an easy fix… 🤞
If you google free ford radio codes, try some of the sites there, did it years ago for a colleagues ST150 but dont remember which site exactly. It worked though
Mega - thanks for the tip!
I lived in the gipton 😜😜
LS8 crew for life. 🤜🤛
I've got a P reg mk4 LX like yours and mine was rotten to bits on the sills and behind the rear wheel arches too (although pristine underneath). Obviously some parts needed welding, but all the bits I treated with Jenolite and painted have stayed solid for years now. Absolutely worth doing, they're beautiful little cars. When's the MOT booked in for?
Brilliant! The exciting news is the welding is done…but I’ve now only got 10 days until #Rustival so MOT middle of next week…it’s going to take a bit of graft to get it ready!! I’d say wish me luck, maybe pray for me would be a better plan. 🤷 😂
@@Cherishedcars I'll do both! May the impossible become possible for you and your lovely Fiesta 😀 let me know how it goes!
Thanks Matt! More content to follow for sure!
Unless you are going to tackle the work yourself and use it as a learning experience. It makes for sense to scrap and find a better project or even buy another one that's good underneath/ mechanically, but rubbish body and swap the panels over.
You might be onto something. The welder wants to chat this afternoon… And I don’t think it’s to ask when I’m picking it up! 😭 😭 😭 I want to learn to weld properly, so that if it’s becoming silly then I’ll bring it back and sit on it. But I’d love to get it up and running quickly, and start using it!
Apologies for the terrible audio. Next couple of videos will be voiceover while I sort decent mics. Good case of “buy nice, or buy twice!”
that rust easy fix
I really hope so! Thanks for watching.
Oh another lie me
🤔
