I was there yesterday (5/15/24). When I was on the xcelerator, I noticed that they were starting to rebuild the second train for it. I it can't wait to see the red one back in action
11:06 Actually given from what I've heard, I hope Zamperla gets their hands on Xcelerator. But I also hope by then they'd figure out how to avoid whatever problems the trains on TTD2 have so it doesn't happen again 😂
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Oh idk. I just hear that even though the launch isn't as punchy as it used to be, the launches on TTD2 are still pretty solid and going up the spike is actually a lot of fun. Given that Xcelerator is a lot shorter and way more compact than TTD, a swing launch on it would obviously not feel the same as it does on TTD2, but if the tradeoff is better reliability and a slightly longer, equally fun (yet slightly less intense) experience, I'd say it's worth it. They could even make the backwards spike twisted just to make things a little more interesting.
RIP the Flank Steak Sandwich at Firemans BBQ...that thing was awesome and we got it just about every single time we went as one of our meals on the plan...
It's been off for a good 20 years or more. Sadly, I don't think it'll ever come back. There's also a former waterfall just after the tunnel before the lift back to the station.
Good coverage, and great video. Very clear. Thank you. Sometimes when a theme park redoes a land within their park, you can't tell that they did anything. Tony Baxter mentioned something similar when they redid Fantasyland around 84 or so, all the guests said "It always looked like this" which can be both an insult and a compliment. Anyhow, I can actually see a big difference here. This is kind of impressive.

They already made noticeable changes 10 years ago when they renovated Camp Snoopy for its 30th anniversary. This feels like a long awaited phase 2. They are fixing everything they didn't last time. Sadly, it looks like the stage and some other things are being cancelled or delayed. Not sure what's going on. And the park is very quiet about everything. I wish there was more transparency.
I can’t wait until we at least get the waterfalls turned back on in camp snoopy. If we ain’t gettin the new meet and greet spot yet at least make that area noice again!!! Lol
Theatre has been delayed indefinitely. Also Airmail has been removed from the closed rides lists outside the front gate and on the website. Wonder what happened with the theatre as that was well on its way and just stopped, Deja vu with Montezooma’s progress.
This video made me realize what a missed opportunity this space is if they keep Flying Ace right where it is. The space on the left seems too big for Woodstock's Airmail and the space on the right looks too small for a large permanent theater space? The awkward placement and wrap-around walls at Flying Ace really stick out now. 🤔
That's so crazy! I can't imagine why they would halt construction on the theater. It was moving along at such a good rate too. Now Camp Snoopy is left without a theater for the summernseason. And there's a giant stretch of wall as you enter the the land. They had no issue building the new Calico Stage back in 2016 or whenever that was. I wonder what's going on with Knott's these days. The hotel room forever to get "finished." And I say "finished" because it still doesn't have a sign on the building. It's been more than a year since they started!
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Typical Knott's fashion they are radio silence. Compared to Cedar Point in the same company they immediately put out a post regarding their new ride having issues. Good or bad i think many would like to know whats happening. Even the Log Ride sat idle for months two years in a row. THey could easily put a post out say the log ride is 50 years and each off season we plan on doing major refurbishment so this ride could be enjoyed for generations to come. Other parks due construction updates on projects too. Knott's silence at all times.
The stage in Camp Snoopy isn’t even slated to be open in summer at all now. Maybe fall???? Not sure what the hang up is. Guess what looks simple to me, wasn’t simple at all. 🤷🏻♂️ I do wish Knott’s was more timely on their construction projects though. Maybe they need to start earlier and pad the completion date on their projects. No one will be mad if they open earlier! But late over and over on things is a problem.
Chris, I have a question for you! Where the rocks and restaurant is in Camp Snoopy, wasn't there a candy store in that location? I remember my sister and I had gotten candy there and it was my 60 th birthday now I'm turning 67 it is in October. So if you find out thanks and keep safe and have a great summer. Maybe I'll get down there in next year to see you.❤
No idea. It's strange for sure! They also took forever to complete the work on the hoel. Which still doesn't have signs at the top of the building. Montezooma's Revenge is a special case and out of their hands. But I can't understand why everything else is taking so much time. Part of it is that they don't have as many workers as they'd need for an area that expansive. They are kicking butt at the coaster site and new restrooms. And finally with Off-road Rally. But everything else is crickets.

The rapids suck now. I rarely get wet riding it now a days. Back when it was big foot rapids I'd be drenched every time..

Regular food reviews for the most part on various channels is just.. Sad! Looks like low grade cafeteria offerings. Cedar Fair needs to step it up.
Knott's has some of the best theme park food I've had. This was just a bit of a letdown. Even though it tasted good.
