    I was trying to decide between the Fiido M1 Pro and the Engwe Ep2-pro and in the end I went for this bike. My reasons were that 750W can often be a bit too powerful from an ebike. The higher torque often makes the acceleration feel a little more than you bargained for and the top speed is way more than you would actually want on a bicycle. The only pro of having that extra power is for climbing hills, but that's not too much of an issue for me as I don't mind also getting a little bit of exercise on a bike. Another real pro of the M1 Pro is that the handlebars are considerably wider. The handle bar on the Engwe is absurdly short which I imagine would make the handling very jerky. Full suspension is also a big plus for going off the beaten path and having a little bit more fun with the bike. Haven't received the bike yet but I'm very happy with my purchase.

    Wow, finally a Fiido with a removable battery! It was a large issue with more compact models.
    25 kgs, however... Thanks, I'll stick to 15 kg Qicycle.

    A bigger crank at the front makes hills harder to climb that's why mountain bikes have smaller ones. and I think you will find the rattle is the battery in the frame. I have the standard m1 love it.

    • @shifty277
      @shifty277 3 роки тому +3

      You are correct, however when the wheel diameter comes down to 20" you need the bigger crank to not spin out completely at 25mph with a 11tooth on the rear.
      The mountain bikes have 24", 26" and 27.5" all the way up to 29" wheels can maintain 25mph with a smaller crank.
      On a rear hub motor it can do say 15mph on 500watts regardless of front chain ring up say a constant 6% smooth gradient.
      Hope that helps.

    I just got an M21 Pro here in the UK. Looks almost identical, except it has a rear light and (flimsy) mudguards. The light switch has gone, along with the horn that has been replaced by a rather pathetically small thumb operated bell. Retails for around £1,100.

    Fiido bikes look great, BUT I wish reviewers would talk about long term durability, customer service support. To me customer service support is 50% of The whole experience. Anyone know about their customer service? I’ve heard of mixed reviews and this makes me nervous, versus going with an American well established company with great customer service such as Rad.

    • @honeybadger9425
      @honeybadger9425 3 роки тому +1

      I had a D4S for a year and had no issues and i just pre - ordered the M21 from them. Imo Fiido one the better company's especially if you live in the UK, laws like dumping tax of 62% make it difficult for most company's but Fiido have a UK warehouse so can maintain their lower prices. Their webstite is good full of spare parts batterys etc spoke with their customer sevice a few times they have always been helpful and friendly to me.

    • @honeybadger9425
      @honeybadger9425 3 роки тому +1

      @@seleneperez7322 If your in the US your lucky you have alot more options i would look around tbh. Trouble for us in UK is the gov made it very expensive to import ebikes over 250w. I assume Fiido caught on to the gap in the UK market and get around the this by importing the bikes in bits to their UK warehouse then build them in the UK and that keeps the prices sensible. Like i say our 62% dumping tax makes importing a fully built ebike very expensive for us, say a £700 ebike from China becomes something silly like £1600 just with all import fees. In the US you have none of that worry and you can get much more powerful ebikes for cheaper.

  • @aissalaribi7672
    @aissalaribi7672 3 роки тому +2

    The 2 main cons for me would be the weight and no mudguards. Then, about the range, buying a spare battery will make it.

    • @fender1000100
      @fender1000100 2 роки тому +3

      You can buy mudgaurds relatively cheap. And the weight of the bike is an advantage. It makes the bike get taken more seriously by others on the street. From pedestrians to even car drivers. I own an ADO A20F. And the respect I get on the road with that bike. I cannot tell you. Its built like a tank. I never got that respect when I had a road bike.
      The power and build of that bike. And the sound of it. Makes people take you seriously. I love it. I carry a spare battery in my cargo box. And take my rightful place on the road.

      I put SPEEDSTER HONEYCOMBS on mine. And the range increased by over 3 miles. I changed out that saddle to. For the most comfortable big saddle in the world with a backrest. I don't really get the point in this personally. A) I don't think cadence sensing lends itself to any sort of all mountain, trail riding b) the suspension is completely useless, I don't know why they bothered adding it. Would've been far better if they could've added some decent components on that front.
    I've got the d4s and at 6kg lighter and with my weight at 62kg I can tackle any hill and never feel lacking for power. Of course I can't take it off road but I could probably achieve better comfort levels with wider balloon tyres

    • @fraserp2377
      @fraserp2377 2 роки тому

      Agreed re off road riding, but I think this bike would make a lot of sense on road. Put some slicker road 4 inch tyres on and even with the cheap suspension this bike would be considerably more comfortable than the d4s.

      It's a solid built bike with awesome top speed and decent range. The only must change is the SADDLE. If you do long commutes of 20 plus miles a day like I do. I changed out the saddle for a thick one with a backrest.

      This rear suspension is nonsense. Just put a big universal saddle on it with a backrest. And you will feel like you are floating down the street. The saddle and the PSI in the tyres make more for a comfortable ride than any suspension. It's seriously overrated.
      When I got my M1 PRO. That saddle had to go straight away. 10 miles on it and my backside was on fire. With the giant universal. It's like you are sitting on a comfortable sofa. You can sit on it for hours and it's still comfortable.

    I have doughts if this frame around the battery will last long and be stable enough - If it does not, the battery will carry with and you can't remove it anymore...
    My bikes usually survive around 10.000 km, then the steel pipes brake in the middle...
    How thick is that frame and what material?!?

      If you are using a bike like this to commute to work and back mostly on roads. It will Last for years. If you think you are gonna rough up a bike jumping curbs. And rough off reading few bikes are gonna last long. When I buy a bike for sub £1000. If I get 18 months use out of it. I'm over the moon. And if I like the bike I will buy a new one or the latest model.
      Over that 18 months I will have saved alot of money in train and cab fares. So that's how I look at it. I spend £800 to £1000 on an ebike. It saves me at least £1000 over the next 18 months. And I get exercise too.

    Hi there. You mentioned that if one does not need a foldable bike they should get an E-bike that does not fold because it would be cheaper. Could you please shed some light in make and model of E-bike I could get a good one that also could get up to 40/50km/h? Would really appreciate any suggestion you might give! Thanks in advance!

      This looks better, I have the SAMEBIKE, a big disappointment, never got over 28 kph when unlocked, the motor actually burned out on the first ride even though I ran it in assisted mode with constant pedalling.
      The motor in the SAMEBIKE is too weak.

    can anyone say how fat tire affects resistance and effort you need to do to move? Love bicycles ,but never rode fat tire one , but tested a good bunch of tires , thin high pressure tires are so so easier to roll than same diameter offroad tires with those rubber cubes on it. There is so much rubber to move around so I was wondering.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  3 роки тому +3

      Doesn't seem that different a little more resistance yes and road noise of the tires but no much more. BUT running a low PSI for them to be a bit more giving it's then quite a bit harder without the motor.

    That rattling noise from the suspension is simply horrible. And for 1400 euros you could get a rad mini with a 14ah samsung battery , bafang motor and quality components.

And if I have to pop into a shop during my travels. I play music and have my lights flashing. Nobody in their right mind is going to try and steal a bike like that. They dont know where you are at.
