  • This is the Fiido M1 Electric Bike that’s foldable, has fat tires and a full electric mode.. and goes 30 kilometers per hour! I think the M1 is a great all round, folding, electric bike and has some proper off-road aspirations. Got it from: bit.ly/Fiido-M1
    Fiido D2s Bike review: • Fiido D2s Foldable E-B...
    More information: bit.ly/Fiido-D2s
I was afraid for the extra weight, but the motor has enough power to cope with it. The Fiido M1 Electric E-bike is not exactly made for extreme off-road, nor normal commuting, so it’s kinda in for everything and nothing. At least it has the super awesome looks.
So, for who is this bike? I think it’s for someone that want’s a cool looking E-bike that wants to use for multiple reasons. Whether that’s commuting during the weekdays, Touring during the weekend and occasionally maybe going off road in the mountain.
And what do I think? Well, this bike looks first all awesome, is comfortable to ride and lastly, I believe this bike is a bit of everything.
    - Built quality is more than fine.
    - There’s no rattling and everything seems to be well put together.
    - Once unlocked the Mountain E-bike goes faster
    - The folding mechanism works good.
    - The display is bright and looks good.
    - The tires are thick and the bike is heavy, but the battery is much bigger than normal and the range is therefore very acceptable considering the weight.
The only downside are.. The cadence sensor, which is kinda annoying.. I would love to see a torque sensor, A rear light and some mudguards?
And last but not least.. who or what is Fiido? Fiido is based in Shenzhen, China and is a relatively new name in electric bikes world. From its range of seven bikes, the M1 is the only full-suspension model aimed at off-road riding.

My partner bought me one of these a few weeks ago and I love it! Great for nipping around the city, but also been having a lot of fun off-road, through forests, on trails, gravel, shallow sand, tarmac, dirt, mud, it does well on them all. Not so great when the sand gets deep and loose, as it'll dig in unless you take the sand trap at speed. The main issues I've had are the battery handle, which snapped almost immediately, plus the battery port cover, which got caught against the body when I was removing it and tore off (little rubber bung) - the battery is a little loose in the frame, too, so I put felt pads on each end to remove the vibration.
Have done some small jumps, hill climbs with loose footing (pine needles and cones on forest dunes) and some pretty tight trails at speed and it's eaten them all up. On forest dunes we reduced the pressure in our tyres to 10psi which helped grip through corners and helped us get over some of the looser sand where it hit the beach. One thing I would say is the tyres aren't very puncture resistant - filled our tubes with slime and have had both a thorn and a long nail go through, but slime sorted it both times. Tubes are hard to get hold of for these wheels and expensive, so make sure you source a supplier before and run with Slime in (you won't notice it in this bike, due to the weight).
Using mostly throttle on setting 3, I get about 15 miles of largely off-road driving, with a PSI of 20-25 in the tyres. When not using throttle, except to assist, and running on setting 2 most of the day on mixed trails and road, I get back after ~20 miles with about 1/3 to half battery. Remember that if you unlock the full speed of 30kph, the battery will run out faster. Also, the 30kph is only available on throttle - the pedal assist gives up at 24kph on setting 3.
Really enjoying it, so far! Absolutely perfect for city riding, trails and general fun and wow, it's so frikkin nice not to have to strain my bad knee up hills any more! :-)

@@pennywatson8710 The battery charging port cover I've not replaced yet but should be easy enough to find something as it's a standard size jack. The handle on the battery might be more ticky but I'm just using tape which does the job ok - the manufacturer might be able to send spares but I'm a DIY person so tend to make do with home-made fixes. The new tubes I ordered from Germany I think - they're probably the least common tube type at present, hence recommend Slime in them to re-seal punctures on the go.

I get 80km with the lowest assist mixed riding on city and suburb hills. When I go up hills (12 to 15% gradient), I use full electric, on flats and small gradients, I pedal. It's 20km per 1 bar of battery for me.

  • @StillWanderer
    @StillWanderer 3 роки тому +3

Just arrived days ago! Living in quite steep hills, I must say it can cope with them rather nicely, of course, helping with pedaling a bit.
Extreme hills are avoidable at all costs though... but it's understandable given the power-range of the M1.
Anyway, does anybody know if by removing the speed limit, the engine gains some Watts / Power or it's just the speed ?
I still can't figure it out; the feeling seems a little differents

We tried it on Fiido m3 & got E2 flash up but then full auto mode was unlocked, were prior it only had a rolling start auto then you needed to pedal assist to keep going.
    Now it’s on full auto
Only Downside is turning off reset the controller & you have to do trick again or every time your turning it on.
Be perfect if it would unlock & stay unlocked, I’m sure there’s be a way in the programming of doing this.
As I know with bigger bikes like the BBSHD 1000watt, I can unlock an off-road mode and it will stay in at off-road mode even if I turn the bike off charge the bike turn the bike back on at station that off-road mode until you program back to street legal. I think others like stealth bombers & B52’s can remain in this off road full auto mode too, until there manually changed back to normal or standard modes.
This is the Fiido M3 pro too I forget to mention & it’s an au version so the E2 we’re getting is probably different than M1 🤷🏻‍♂️ but it did unlock a full auto mode we never had before. 🙏👍
Fiido M3 is identical to this M1 it’s full suspension 250/500w purchased from jb hifi

The only issue I am having Is how high I should have the saddle (when the new one arrives) I am 5’6 so I need the saddle low which is fine when I don’t want to peddle but when I do I feel like I need the saddle higher to get the leg extension. Hi, I am 5’3 female , will the bike be too heavy for me to drive if I don’t want to use the electric mode occasionally , i.e if I just drive in cycle mode , because of its fat tyres ?

    • @UToober17

It’s gonna be heavy! But to be honestly most vintage style bikes designer for women are around the 20kg weight… so it’s not gonna be a huge difference! But it’s not light at all…. With the battery it’s 25kg and without its 22kg
