I work at the water park there and sometimes the main park. Its good to hear that you had a good time. if you ever make it up here again i really hope i don't miss you again.
I love small little parks like this. They're so charming.
I literally live one town over from quassy. It’s great, especially it’s a quick hop to lake compounce, and not too far from Six Flags New England
Went there like 30 years ago with my little brother and Mom when I lived in Hartford. Still looks the same. Beautiful.
Great video Taylor!
Also, I have some news on Hangtime at Knott's, as all the track pieces have been placed, and it is expected to test run in February and open in March.
I grew up in CT, and our family would occasionally picnic at Quassy, which back then we called Lake Qussapaug Amusement Park. I only remember having a lot of fun there. It’s definitely worth a visit in if you’re in the area.
Yes sir, it is a great little park! I practically grew up in that park. I remember when Wooden Warrior first opened- I got to ride on the very first run. Fun times. Would recommend it if you're in the area.
I worked here for a week before health problems complicated things. Best company I've ever worked for. Thumbs up for the great staff!
It's so crazy to see the updates they've done to this park. I went here every Labor Day and 4th of July as a kid, and I remember the Mad Mouse being there right behind where the new entryway/ticket booth is now. They must've taken it down to put up the new water park attractions. I haven't been there recently yet to try the Wooden Warrior, but now I'm excited to get back there to try it. The train was always something I rode at least once when we went, and all that land you were talking about is actually part of an area that they rent out for events like picnics. The fields were always fun to run around in and pelt my cousins with water balloons in, and fly kites around, and play toss games and boccie. Man, this video really brought back awesome memories. I can't wait until things are safe enough to go outside again, I really want to get back to this cute little lakeside park.
amazing vid as always ty again for your time to make high quality videos like this
This place looks so cool, I’ll add it to my list of US parks to visit, thank you 👍🏽
2:48 its called a helter skelter Taylor haha
Coasters, Gaming and Stuff Yep, hence the name of the Beatles song.
StamfordBridge and the goal of Charles Manson’s cult
@@StamfordBridge it’s actually how Paul McCartney came up with Helter skelter a slide at a amusement park.
@@abatedrougehateaccount5095 ?
@@StamfordBridge you said Helter was the name of a Beatles song I explained how macca wrote it
Great place! I planned my daughter birthday party here last year and her being two at the time fell in love with the staff who treated her so nice. Planning her 3rd party soon great first experience
I find it insane that this park only has a 35 foot height limit. Kinda crazy thinking that Wooden Warrior, a coaster thats packed with airtime and is overall just a super fun ride is shorter than an average station heigh.
Great review I love old classic amusement parks like that
I absolutely agree with your review. Quads you reminded me of Knoebels in a sense where it was a nice relaxing setting with a mixture of classic and modern rides. I like the staff here, having causal conversations between Wooden Warrior rides was something I really appreciated.
Go to lake Winnie! It’s very similar to this, but has 3 coasters. It’s very nice too, and has paddle boats!.
Pet Paradise he really does need to go there. I love Lake Winnie so much
Pet Paradise i'll look into it and see what I can do!
Coaster Studios thanks! I live 15-20 minutes away from it! Not my home park. Mine is Dollywood or sfog.
These are the kinds of parks that I love. Would love to visit it someday.
Love your park reviews really good videos.
This park is so underappreciated, but the Wooden Warrior was my first coaster ever.
I was a ride attendant at Quassy- i drove the red train 🚂 you were talking about!! I loved working there!! I worked there when they still had the mad mouse 🐁 best rollercoaster 🎢 ever!!
Hey Taylor. I was at Quassy yesterday. Actually did the same duel park idea you mentioned, hitting up Lake Compounce first (needed to add Phobia to my count). The day before I actually did Coney Island, Playland Park, and SFNE (needed to add Joker & Wicked Cyclone). I loved Quassy and Wooden Warrior. I left the park wishing there were more small parks like this in our region DC/VA/MD.
I did reach 300 coasters for my count on my little excursion. Ended up hitting it with Wicked Cyclone too.
Good stuff man. Always like your videos. You're someone who clearly has a good time at the parks. Sure, there are bad rides and even bad park experiences, but you still help promote the good and fun of our hobby. Maybe one day I'll find you at one of the parks around here. I'm from the Baltimore region and am always looking to hit up a park. I need to get out to the Midwest and west coast to push myself up to the 400 count. Lol.
Agreed in full. Went today. Loved it. Wooden Warrior is fantastic. Rode it 20 times!!!
i went there ALL THE TIME when i was six. it was so fun!! i'm planning on going there on saturday
I’m going to Connecticut and I’m looking at all of the amusement parks there and this is definitely a contender
I was a ride operator there in the summer of 1987. It's a nice place!
We used to live in the town next to Quassy and went here all the time
Great video
That’s an amazing park, at least it looks like to be amazing, I will make sure I visit it next time I go to USA
Frantic 1 looks too intense for me..
Mewleon Kun Spiral slide 1 looks too intense for me
Really.
Florida coasters yep
I was talking too the other person .
Wooden Roller Coaster 1 looks too intense for me
Great park review Taylor!
Great video! Seems like a great park!
thanks for the video u did a great job.. I love quassy I've been going there since I was a lil girl now I take my kids there.. it is allot of fun and my kids and I always have a blast on Fridays is 50cent or 75cent day which means sodas hand burgers and hot dogs etc are only 50cent or 75cent and on Saturday after 5pm it's car pull night which means 10 people can ride in a car and u only pay for parking and 50$ and everyone gets a bracelet and u can ride all the rides.. which I live going on Saturday.. on fourth of July its nice to go out there they do 3D fire works they also have a beach part of the lake where u can also swim at.. it's a great place to go with the family I'm sure looking forward in going next Saturday once again thank u for this video
I’m 64 & still remember riding the carousel at quassy. As I got older, I went on the bigger rides. I could be wrong, but I remember a coaster named the Wild Mouse there. It was the first roller coaster I rode.
yep, they removed it before i could go on it though.
I went there last summer, it was so fun!
I haven't seen this park since the early 80s wow. its a cool place to watch fire works on the 4th of july.
I've been here before! I came here like a few days ago with my family!
This reminds me of my home park, Lake Winnepesaukah (lake winnie) for short, its in the chattanooga area so when you're on your way from Dollywood to SFOG, or the other way around, this is right between those two. I think you should stop there to check it out!
Quassy has been around a long time. I was there for a 8th grade class trip in 1972 !
I go there at summer camp and I LOVE it
Thank for reviewing my home park
Quassy use to have a roller coaster called mad mouse. And the carts would barley hold on to the rails. I remember it be so terrifying.
I rode a clone of frantic at The Kalahari in the Wisconsin Dells, it’s really cool because The was indoors
i love the quassy staff
Great review!
Just came for the coaster lol nice
Next time you are in the New England area make the drive up to Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH. It's a decently sized park, we have a woodie that is 88 years old, an Arrow Corkscrew, and a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter.
Hey Taylor, I’m going to be riding WWGL Coaster this April. I’ll tell you how it is.
Looks good
They have helter skelter from RCT! I'd go the park just for that as I've yet to actually encounter one.
I've never been to Quazzy, but I'm wanting to visit now!
if you go make sure to hit up the water park, i am a bit biased as I mostly work in the water park, but its by far the best area in the park.
Ive been there a lot. Those empty fields are usually used for football/soccer fields.
You ever notice how a lot of these small parks get Gravity Group woodies, it's quite an interesting pattern (Switchback, Mine Blower, Wacky Taxi, this, and probably more down the line)
You forgot Roarosaurus, Zippin Pippin, Boardwalk Bullet, Ravine Flyer II, and Hades 360. Those are all at smaller parks too.
Next up to get a Gravity Group woodie: Canobie Lake Park
When I was there I went on the Wooden warrior It was cool. The line was long. The basketball court is ok there. I didn't go on the water park and I live in Newjersey Lol and I went to sixflages New England as well
Also quassy amusement park was actually amazing, i actually was here for the amusement park but then i just bought my swimming trunks along just in case thank god i did the water park was amazing too
Waldameer staff is pretty nice on Ravine Flyer II
Do a review on Lake Compounce I love that place!
I went to Qazzy yesterday and I just visited it on Google Earth and I saw an ad for Qazzy before I watched this video
frantic and wooden warrior are my favorite rides
People comparing this to other parks - Canobie, Oaks, Knoebels, Lake Winnie - may not get just how tiny this place is. You could circumnavigate the whole park in a matter of minutes. To get the idea, think less amusement park and more local permanent carnival. Except it’s a carnival that happens to have one tiny but absolutely fabulous wooden coaster.
A nice little place Taylor. The Wooden Warrior however looks like its running slower than it was when Theme Park Review went there.
Matt Glumac :The Autistic Golfer: I don’t know if it’s faster or slower than it was, but I rode it this last summer and it was just awesome. It’s so tiny yet there’s great airtime for each drop.
We don’t go here that often. Even though I live like a half an hour away. I go to SFNE most of the time. Still though you cannot Beat the charm that Quassy has.
The CT/Western MA area is a very underrated hotspot for coasters, there aren't too many places in the country where you have such world class rides like Wooden Warrior, Boulder Dash, Superman, and Wicked Cyclone all in about a 90min drive
You can’t seriously put the Wooden Warrior in the same category as throes other coasters, can you?
I like small parks like Quassy!!
Wait, so RCT didn't make up those spiral slides? I've never seen one in real life before. Neat.
Taylor, do you think its worth visiting Indiana Beach? Im thinking of going there this summer after Holiday World and heading to Strickers Grove and Kings Island and i want to stop there to get the credits.
Memories as a kid
You used to be able to ride paddle boats at Great Adventure in the lake over by the log flume, but I'm not sure if they still do that?
“They have this cute little train*
Shows wooden warrior
Thewarf321 ikr I was like “wait, what?”
I like the train, but wooden warrior is better
The train passes under the wooden warrior and can be seen in a few different shots.
I know I’m saying this a little bit later because I never noticed this video but I love classy music and Mark Park oh my gosh I can’t spell today because it just brings back memories and my cousin Jamie actually works in our system in 2020
Yo what is that wooden warrior review coming?
Canobie Lake is the nicest of the New England parks! Highly recommend it next time you're around.
Don Dambra what about six flags New England
Hahahahhahahahaha no. SFNE is great and has the best coaster line up, but its not the best.
SFNE is our flagship park, but if you want New England charm, go to one of the smaller parks
I won’t be able to go this year on a school field trip because of too many absences. ☹️
All of my friends are going tomorrow.
Nice
I went there over the summer
a lot like Oaks Amusement park in Portland OR, can you review/visit their some time Taylor? they are getting a hydrus clone this coming spring
I went in this trip 3 times
I have a video suggestion... Do ride predictions for knoebels
Those slide towers are called Helter Skelters.
Isn't there like a small beach/lake that you can hang out? I see that you mentioned the paddle boats but not the beach area
*Waiting for Elitch Gardens review*
Knoebels of Connecticut I guess?
Midwest Thrills More like one tiny corner of Knoebels that broke off and drifted into New England.
Im a town away from it! Iv been there too
I am going with my mom and my siblings I went before it's so fun
So Frantic is basically a mini version of Cyclos @ Kentucky Kingdom?
yes
Kinda, but not really.
Spiral Slide Towers! They do exist!
Wooden Warrior looks like a cute little gravity group woodie.
Soul Seal Saul That’s kind of what it’s like, except that it’s so tiny and scrunched up that each drop felt to me like leaping off a boulder.
Thats me in the reverse time pic!
New England Coaster News What do you mean by reverse time pic?
the photo of the reverse time attraction
Random Fact: My dad lost his phone riding wooden warrior.
Not so random! I did an educational tour for teachers at this park and they have to do regular cell phone pick-ups under the coast each day! Not a huge coaster, but it is fast!
kinda reminds me of a smaller version of holiday world and with a lake in the middle lol
or a bit like if holiday world and knobles had a baby
THE WARRIOR IS FASTER THAN U THINK😂 it gets full around 5 pm, little dipper, IS FAST!
Soooo, the kenobles of CT?
Out of all of the parks that you went to that were new, Witch one was the best?
Coaster Box *which
SQUADDD
Giga coaster for quassy in 2019❓❓❓
Benito and PeZ no way that's gonna happen.
It would 100% improve the park
guess what nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo put it at great adventure instead
Lol a giga. Would improve any park.
You paying for it lmao?
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Review please
What is your favorite New England park
I've always had a better experience at small parks, my home park is tiny (Castles n Coasters) and I am always treated well there.
Are you going to review silverwood
Most pointless Top tens yes, eventually
Coaster Parodies
Mohawk day camp goes there :)
