Boulder Dash is on a whole different level at night. The laterals and airtime are absolutely insane. The only wooden coasters that top it in my list are Phoenix, Voyage, and El Toro. (Lightning Rod soon.)
The skyride was awesome. Its spirit lives on with Knoebel’s skyway. R.I.P.
The Knoebels sky ride is great, but the Compounce one was a little better.
Except lightning rod isn’t even wood anymore lol
@@Flopettes True lol
I am scared of rollercoasters that twist, drop, spin, and flip. Do you think the Boulder Dash is similar to that? Or is it more of a speedy ride with one long dip? Is it ok for beginners?
@@jackies35 it’s fast and kinda bumpy, but you’re always upright. There’s one big drop at the start that carries you through it. Pretty jarring, but also amazing
You deserve a million subs, hands down the best theme park /amusement channel 👍
Wow, thanks!
Same
he does deserve a million subs and he's my favorite too
Glazing
Thanks for the nostalgia! I probably haven’t been since 2013 or ‘14, but this place was such a big part of my childhood. And the new rides look exciting. Glad that the quaint New England park I knew and loved has glowed up a little!
I'm glad the owners keep investing in new additions.
I'm so glad I got to ride the sky ride before they took it out. Evac was always a problem--I recall they couldn't run it if it had rained recently, which was why it was down on my first visit.
Thunder Rapids is one of my favorite rapids rides. Will never forget the time they let us ride it straight through three times in succession.
Zoomerang is the only Boomerang I've ridden--having been warned about them by enthusiasts, I was somewhat surprised to find this ride not bad at all. I actually started to gray out on the loop. I guess I'm not surprised to hear that it's one of the best ones running.
The newer ones with Vekoma trains tend to run better.
i once had my arm stuck before the ride began but lucky for me i warned the staff before they gave it the all clear!
Oh, yeah, and you're right about the classic wave swinger being unusually intense, though I hadn't thought about it much before. I've always loved these rides for some reason.
This is one of the better ones.
That walk through looks awesome 🙂🙂🙂! Thumbs up my friend!
It looks like it will live on at Quassy.
Nice list! I’m going to Lake Compounce for the first time in 2022. Of course, I’m going because of Boulder Dash, but it looks like there are many other rides I need to ride. I didn’t even know they have a Screamin Swing, which is always one of my favorite flats.
Thunder n Lightning is a ton of fun.
Just added another theme park to my theme park bucket list!!! 😁Thanks for this video 🎢🙌💙
You're welcome!
Loved the video! I didn't know the park before so it was a lot of fun getting to know the attractions 😄
You're welcome!
Boulder Dash is my favorite roller coaster. Never did it at night though, gotta try that next time I go.
That's a must!
*Going there for my senior trip and I'm so excited!!*
Enjoy!
Thank you for showing me this because i want to see most of the rides before i go on my field trip
Enjoy!
Boulder Dash was one of my favourite rides to run when I worked there. That was a great job.
That crew is usually great!
This was my local park growing up….I still visit from time to time. Wildcat gets a bad rap, but for those who grew up riding it and remembering that it was built in 1927, it is a great ride. You just have to “know how to ride it”. Front seat is the smoothest….sit on the left side, ride with the seat belt fastened tight, and feet forward. Remember…coasters built in the 20’s were designed with the idea they wanted to kill you! Crystal Beach Cyclone?
Having a dull layout and a rough ride is a double whammy for me.
Thank you, sir. I just watched this with the children after having to stop another review video short due to profanity.
Well done, 5stars!
I keep the videos on this channel clean.
@@CanobieCoaster well, May God bless you for that, sir, in Jesus name. What’s your name btw, please?
Mike
Thanks I might go sometime here or there, and am excited to see what it offers
Boulder Dash is the main reason to visit.
We're going there in June on a field trip. Can't wait!
Enjoy!
Yes thank you for it that was fun
It's a good park.
This looks like such a fun park.
It is.
Imaging here for my 6th grade field trip soon and I'm very exited
Nice!
Wow, i never thought that anything could be scarier then that kiddie coaster, woah
Lol
I'm still bitter with the park for the removal of the Sky Ride. It was their most unique offering, a stand-out attraction to me, and something I made sure to ride every visit.
Same! The sky ride was truly something spectacular and relaxing. But at least I still get good views of the park from Down Time.
I'm sad it left too but their reasoning was understandable.
The swings is my personal favorite
It's a good version of that type of ride.
I’ll be going for the first time, is Boulder Dash really that good? I’ve heard people say it’s the best wooden roller coaster they’ve ever ridden. Currently El Toro takes the top spot for me. I’m curious if this will top it?
Ride it in front and I think it's better than El Toro.
Wildcat is my 4th favorite ride at Lake Compounce, and it didn't even make your top 15!!! Of course, with how crowded the park was, I only had enough time for 4 rides.
That's one way for it to make the top 5 lol
Saw Mill Plunge is an underrated log flume
It's solid.
I haven’t came here in 6 years. This was a great explanation for what is to come. Which one is the scariest?
Probably Sky Coaster.
Im suprised we didnt see Wildcat on this ranking. A real underrated ride tho. I 100% agree with this whole ranking tho
I find that ride too rough.
What happened to the cyclone that was and still in one of my favorite rides along with boarder dash and zoomarang
...For top ride in New England, I think I would rate Wicked Cyclone and Superman slightly above Boulder Dash, for overall ride experience. On the other hand, Boulder Dash's use of terrain and setting makes it unique in a way they are not.
(I haven't ridden Excalibur at Funtown Splashtown, which I suppose is the fourth potential contender for the elite.)
Boulder Dash front row beats Superman or Wicked Cyclone. But any row on Superman or Wicked Cyclone beats Boulder Dash in any row but the front.
I rly hope that phobia’s restraints won’t kill my thighs like tempesto did
I strongly recommend avoiding the back row in either car. In the other seats, you can tuck your feet back.
@@CanobieCoaster ok that might have been my problem cuz I sat back row on tempesto and the thigh pain was unbearable
Definitely sit in the middle or front and you shall be fine! With the back, you get hit with that high gravity rush and it might hurt a bit. The front or middle is best in my opinion when I ride it
Canobie when will you rank the Minnesota coasters you’ve ridden?
I'm not sure.
just visited the park boulder dash was definitely the best ride at night you couldn’t see the drops coming wich made it even crazier!! wildcat was def not my favorite at all bc of the restraints they bobbled and hit you so much! but downtime got me screaming at the noise but not at the actual drop!!
It's incredible at night.
Sky coaster was horrifying!! Don’t go on the ride unless you want to come really close to dying.
I love that ride.
My favorite ride is the Wave Swinger.
Different!
i also der recommend boulder dash back row you absolutely feel like your FLYING
I prefer the front.
My favorite ride there is Boulder Dash followed by Ghost Hunt, Saw Mill Plunge, Phobia, Riptide Racer, Mammoth Falls, Croc-O-Nile, Bayou Bay Wave Pool, Zoomer's Gas N' Go, Tunnel Twisters and Wildcat. I chose not to ride Zoomerang because I didn't want to waste time with a cloned coaster I rode at other parks, Thunder Rapids was closed on the day I visited (even the walkway to Thunder Rapids from the Carousel was closed off which sucked because it was a really hot day and Venus Vortex broke down while we were three quarters through the line and they only had less than an hour before Crocodile Cove closed so they weren't going to fix it in time.
I'm guessing you visited on a weekday if Thunder Rapids was closed? That's one of the first rides to close due to staffing due to its location. Even on days it operates, it opens late and closes early.
@@CanobieCoaster You're correct. I went on a Thursday.
Boulder dash is my all time favorite coaster
It's one of my favorites.
Nice list.
But how could you omit Wild Cat?
The oldest wooden coaster in the U.S!
It's one of the oldest coasters, but it's horrifically rough and not fun.
Im going to lake compounce as a field trip on the June 16th (todays the June 9th) and i keep watching the same video all my friends are screaming while watching this with me. I want to go on so many of them especially Thunder n Lightning, Bolder Dash, Zoomerang and best of all, Phobia Phear
Boulder Dash is my favorite. Wait extra for the front. It's worth it.
You Live in Southern CT. CMS. I know who you are and i will be coming for you
Is that sky coaster really more intense than the Zoomerang or Phobia?
Between the height and drop, I think so. The two coasters you mentioned have better positive Gs though.
I was just there for my camp field trip!
Nice!
Some people thinked that the retrack they did for Wildcat for the 2017 season, made the ride better or decent, and what do you think in 2018 and 2019?
The retrack made it go from bad to worse.
Wave Swinger looks crazy
It is.
Venus vortex is so fun!
Sure is.
What do you mean by “snapping” at 2:20 ? I’ve always been a fan of American flyers, and I didn’t know there was a strategy to riding… 😂
Look up snapping on the Knoebels Flyer. It's when the tub violently jars due to the cables snapping after getting slacked.
I have a question, When did you first ride Ghost Hunt at Lake Compounce?
In the early 2000s.
@@CanobieCoaster Ok, And do you prefer the outdoor mist version in 1999-2007 seasons or the current mirror version? As we see it today ever since the 2008 season.
I am going there for a school trip I hope it’s cool it reminds me of Adventureland so I will tell you the experience once I go there and I come back
I prefer this park to Adventureland.
@@CanobieCoaster UPDATE: I am going tmr yay
@@CanobieCoaster UPDATE 2: I went there it was so fun you are right I prefer this over adventure land
I like Zoomerang’s colors
It's better than the old green.
Anyone have any issues with weight or size restrictions?
Boulder Dash is very accommodating. Phobia can be a tight squeeze for some.
I have been to lake compounce every year Scene I was 3 I’m 10 now I love thunder n lightning and rev o lution
Nice!
I go to lake compounds twice a year because I Live near And trust me balderdash is so good!!
Nice!
Oh I mean bolder dash not balderdash😂😂
I'm tp scared to do the thunder and lighting and zoomerang I am going today so I will try it!!!! .... maybe lok
Give them a try. Worst case, you never have to do them again.
Down time is sooooo scary I past out when I was there but at was worth it
Nice!
bolder dash was one my friend seth and i loved a lot i would of done more but we lost our friend who kept wondering off
Boulder Dash is awesome.
1. Boulder dash 2. Wild cat 3. Wave swinger
You like Wildcat way more than me!
Lake All-Stars in Bristol, Connecticut, United States of America with or without Jimmy's Wave Swinger
Sorry, what are you referring to?
@@CanobieCoaster I'm referring for the truth about Jimmy's Wave Swinger at Lake All-Stars only in Bristol, Connecticut, United States of America.
Why did you not put Wildcat in this list? One of the most iconic attractions
It's painful.
thank god i live near here. i have a season pass also
Nice!
skyride was honestly most scary ride in the park
Understandable.
@@CanobieCoaster coming down felt so much better
Why didn't you say the The ride twister
It's not the easiest to spin.
Haunted Graveyard actually moved to Quassy. 👍
It's not as extreme, but I'm glad the company found a new home.
Where’s my wildcat?🥺🥺
Not on this list since it's rough.
I would add wild cat
I hate that ride.
Los Inquietos del Norte
What's restless?
I went to the revOlotuain bOY ME BE LIKE :YOHOHOHO
It's a fun ride.
Yep
I'm so sad bc they don't have the pirate ship😭
It's still at the park. It just isn't on this list.
@CanobieCoaster I know that's what I meant. You can't ride it anymore. It fell apart.
I love how everyone agrees that wildcat needs to be closed down 🤣
It's abysmal.
It's extremely rough on your back and neck.
Happy wildcat was NOT here. Sucked. It hurts so bad! If it didn’t then it would be a 10/10 but it’s so bad!
I just skip Wildcat on most visits.
It would be a 5/10 if wasn’t so rough.
I think all these rides execpt Down timem is bad and sombody can get hourt
They're all safe.
Ugh I hated american flyers. Made me super nauseous 🤣
Oh no!
