- Hello wannabe mechanics !
In this video we will replace the driver side power window regulator on a Skoda Octavia MK2. It is going to be an interesting and demanding job because the inner metal door panel is secured to the door with rivets so you will have to bore them out in order to replace the regulator.

Thank you so much for the video!
Brilliant video
Replaced my window regulator and it works straight away
Just a little mention for the future guys that are trying to do it, instead of rivets, you can use short metal screws, next to the rivets holes.
God bless you man!
Nu era nevoie să folosești engleza, după nume ești de-al nostru de la Românica😁. Mulțumim pentru vizionare și mai ales pentru comentariu!🤗
Great job, guys! 👍👍
For anyone attempting this, please dont use the glued nuts method! I've tried this and the nuts come undone with very little torque.
Use nut rivets instead. You dont even need a special tool for this, you can use a bolt, a few washers and a nut to pop the nut rivet.
Thank you for the info! I'm sure it will help a lot of people out there.👍
Great video, many thanks. Agree with point below on using rivet screws. Thank you for taking the time to make the. Video. Great work ❤
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and I'm glad it helped.

Good knowledge! Thank you very much for sharing :-) Greetings from Australia
Thanks for watching!
Hi. You done a good job. I am having issues finding the right size rivets. What is the size of the rivets have you used please?
We used M10 but I recommend M12 like the originals. The problem with the M12 is that you will need a bigger gun than the usual one
any ideas if a 2013 superb plate is bolted in or riveted?
I am afraid not. There is only one way to find out. The problem is you will need a biger pop rivet gun than standard ones if you want to use rivets again. We used a standard pop rivet gun and placed metal washers on the other side so that the small rivets we used could pop. If none of the above are an option you can use bolts and nuts glued to the inner side.
Excellent video, can you tell me what size rivets you used thank you from the UK
I don't really recall but they were the smaller ones. That's why we used metal washers too. If you are to use rivets, try the big ones because the holes are quite large. People from UK are the best DIYers (don't mind getting their hands dirty) and nr.1 viewers on my channel. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!
neither skoda nor VW have my part 3T0837462A in stock in the UK (drivers UK side front) they want £GBP160 and £GBP 140 to fit, ive bought TWO off ebay for £70 and two used motors (just in case)
Im finding getting the little plastic dowels in a real pain in the arse, any advice?
Just use a screw and a small hammer
Don't forget to grease them for an easy slide
The way is to remove the door glass by tilting the front down then withdrawing vertically...now fit the pins on a work bench and check you have equal amount of pin on each side of the glass..put a smear of grease on the pins then reinsert the glass to the aperture...with the glass in the closed position wind the mechanism up to meet the glass and the clamps will expand open to allow the pins to click into their locations and the glass will be attached..hope this helps
Salut, super ok niturile de unde le-ai luat și ce mărime sânt
M10 am folosit noi dar originalele sunt m12. Pentru M12 ai nevoie de un pistol mai mare decat cel obisnuit
Da, mulțumesc tare mult.
That music is annoying but thank you
Yes, sorry for that. For the latest videos I completely changed the format of the tutorials. Unfortunately, I don't have the projects, so I can t reedit the old tutorials. Thank you for your comment.
