I pre-ordered the Daemon Prince and can't wait to finally get it! I've been dying to get my hands on it for months. Gonna go with an Emperor's Children theme :)
Yeah ive just got round to painting my old daemon prince like that, looks especialy good with the caroghburg crimson. Makes me think abit of congealed blood.
Every video I watch of these models makes it that much more difficult to not spend my money on them. They all look so fabulous in their Chaosy glory! Also, the reason ‘why’ the Chaos Knights are pushfit is because they’re actually the same ones from the Start Collecting! box, just now with an additional upgrade sprue. Overall, this was a fab overview!
Praise the pain gods. pushing them together with your bare hands just shows your dedication to the ruin-ing your finger-ous powers. **triggers ptsd flashback of a spike going under my nail a bit :')**
Happy New Year Naomi :) Enjoy your videos, this style especially with assembly tips. Plus the only channel I know of with model-paint coordinated nail colours!
Nice video! You give a lot of good tips I am going to bring with me to work on my Slaves to Darkness army. I got my hands on the new big box with chosen and daemon prince as well as the old with the karkadron lord or whatever the hell the name of the beast is! It'll definitely be easier to assemble and paint with your directions in mind xD
wow your exalted hero of chaos looks awesome! im playing belakor and now i can apply the chaos legionnaires colours to him and make him look with that kitbash like an exalted hero of belakor!
I got the new box, the 'Start collecting' box and a warcry box, all assembled and painted. more c. knights, c. warriors, and the c. lord on mount on the way. all this and I STILL haven't played a game with them yet...
I made the mistake with the spikey bits when I was assembling a skull crusher juggernought and a noctilith crown - so many pointy bits right where you need to push.
Awesome models! I ordered the ones that didn't come in the boxed set. Except for the Knights because it's just an upgrade sprue and I have the older ones that had a banner and horn so I'll just use those.
I would like to have a side-to-side comparison of the different sizes in the models. Particularly, I would like to know the size difference between the chosen, the exalted champion and the warriors
Unrelated to this video - but with all of the new GW contrast paints being 6ish months old - have you had any issues with separation and settling - some of my technical paints have really turned to a thick gunk at the bottom and I am not sure if the contrast will do the same. Thanks!
All paints do that given time, it's normal :) The thinner paints do it faster than thicker paints, generally Just add some agitators, like The Army Painter or Warlord Games mixing balls and give them a few shakes, and they'll be good to go again :)
@@swordnsteele712 I haven't had many issues with getting the paints back into useable condition - after sitting for a while. So if the contrasts are similar I will have to start ordering a few. Thanks!
I don't think it matters much whether the AoS or 40k parts are used for the Daemon Prince, as long as the weapon is correct. Soulgrinders, Juggernauts or Skull Cannons are a thing, a Daemon Prince with a more mechanical look could still be at home in AoS, just as a winged melee fighter fits into 40k. Did the same with the old model, no one has ever complained, it complements the Bloodcrushers next to it very well.
Hey Naomi do you have any of the previous plastic Chaos Knights and or Chaos Warriors? It would be cool if someone made a video with putting the last version next to the new ones just to see how they look like next to each other.👍
I have since learned that, silly me, the Chaos Knights are from the Start Collecting now out of print--which explains why they are push-fit!--but with that in mind, the size of the new Chaos Warriors would be very comparable to the previous ones 🤔
@@swordnsteele712Do you know are those the knights the ones in that come in that new vanguard box set or are those the ones that you showed in the video you know which ones? I still wouldn't mind to see comparisons between the new warriors side-by-side with the ones from the start collecting. Or any new ones compared to the ones that were prior. Not just for size I want to see what they look like next to each other. Maybe if you have Facebook or Instagram you can post pics there.
@@swordnsteele712 oh to give you an update: After doing some research and found out that the chaos knights from the start collecting box and these new ones are the same they just added a command sprue.💯😊
Loving the 'old skool' look of these guys. Lots of nice nods to 2nd ed Warhammer fantasy and the classic metal 40K demon prince. The Chosen champion is 'so on the nose', all I can see is the Knights of Ni from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.🐇
I have looked at the older Start Collecting and in fact the Chaos Knights are the same as those in that set, which is not in print anymore, and the Chaos Warriors are a new kit, not the same as those within that kit. It explains to me why the Chaos Knights are push-fit!
The Chaos Knights are push to fit models. So it is not possible to change position to lances in orizzontal and not vertically, like they are charging towards? orizzontal
I have the cards for them from ebay (only way i could get them without getting the big box) but when is the battletome sold separately for them going to be released?
I never recomend using glue on push fits. The glue adds extra mm and is harder to fit the model, then if you cut/sand the peg it won't fit as it otherwise would.
I've glued all of my push fit models and never had a problem. filing down the very tips of the pegs does off and make them fit a bit more snug. on some models I had better luck just cutting the pegs off completely. I use Tamiya extra thin plastic cement and just let it run into the cracks. you can also brush it on to smooth out the cracks. just be careful not to let it run toward your fingers. that's the only risk with extra thin.
Plastic glue does not add any extra thickness. It doesn't work like super glue. If you are not sure about how to use it, just take some bits of sprue and glue them together to familiarize yourself with how it works and how much to add.
I like your type of review, you show the packaging, unbox and build them complete.Thats why i like this channel.

I found , on the warriors, that gluing the shields to the lower arms and then gluing that to the upper arm worked better than as indicated.

Great models and presentation. Thank you.
The Chaos Knights are push fit because they were from the start collecting set 4 or so years ago.
How'd I miss that? 😂 Well, that explains it then! Thank you 😁

Me and the son got into 40k over the last year. We both also seperately, tried to get the wife into AoS.
Welp, i got a greenskin 40k and slaves to darkness AoS. I'm super excited for it all.

Yes, these are the Knights and Warriors also coming in the Vanguard, if one can go with the pictures on the GW website, which I presume that you can.

Hi. Having built Eternus, would you think it would be possible to build the normal chaos lord body with the dragon option mount?
You may have to shave a spike or two but yes, I would say so :)

Can you tell me if the Chaos Warriors have different bits for the top of their banner for each mark.of chaos or no?
They do have bits for each mark of chaos :)
Whats the diff with start collecting set unit for chaos warior and knight?

With some significant slicing, regluing, and potentially puttying, you could do it, but it would not be as easy as reorienting an arm, no.
