- In this video we travel south of the border.. then south again to the south of that border.
This video is all about rally, specifically navigation based rally. I had watched Dakar, and some racing from Baja and always thought it was really cool but didn't really understand what the heck was going on. So when my friends from RideNorthMoto told me they were heading down to Mexico to race the NORRA 1000 I asked if I could join in and learn how this all works!
In this video we explore the equipment needed to race, how to read a roll chart, risks and dangers and what you will need for support.
Please enjoy the video and leave a like and a comment!
This one took me a while so any help is greatly appreciated.

Have any of you guys done any navigation races before? Any advice for people who want to try it out?
As someone who is interested in getting into rally.
This content is perfect ...
Please keep it coming.

Entertaining and informative video. Always excited to see you upload!
Thank you! It's been a bit since I've uploaded but I got lots in the works!
Ohhhh loved it. Now you def perked my interest in the sport. Fantastic as always mate.
It’s pretty interesting! I’m excited to give it a try.
Apparently there two NAV races on the island
Definitely debating doing this in 2024 while i await my bug build. Wish they had upped the yr limit for sportsman moto.. hard to find good pre 99 atvs for good prices
Great stuff, not too long, not too short !! Great info. Well done 👏🏼 ✔️
Thank you Darrin! Means a lot coming from you
Great video, thanks very much.
You’re very welcome! Thanks for watching and saying some kind words
Good Job as always Bud! Great footage of the Baja, would love to check that out in person.
Rally Navigation is a lot of fun, I enjoyed the few 300km gravel road trips this summer and want to do more with my basic setup even locally!
Keep all the great films coming.
Thanks man! Appreciate that. I enjoyed those too, and you navigated them really good with that set up, proving the concept!
Great simple entertaining overview. If you want to getvstarted innthis DualsportBC has the Too Loong Days Roadbook event each year from Vancouver to Peachland and retuen (now in July) Vancover Island Moto Sport has two Events each year with an added time trial and we will be hosting a Roadbook basics course with routes at the 2024 ADV gathering in Vernon
Dude! This awesome, I have been looking for stuff going on in Canada but it’s so hard to find info.
Do you have a link you could drop to your event in Vernon?
👏👏👍👍
Thanks for watching!
I am so surprised there are no options on my Garmin, or no phone APP existing, allowing for a simple Trip with +/- adjustment to match the km of the next line of my roadbook. Are there? I have done 6 long range rally (4500 to 5000km each) with roadbook, and my earlier KTM had a simple 50$ trip remote control option. Not any more!! Mounting an ICO is a mess when having a multi- purpose bike
Is all the classes rally there’s not one for just having a gps?
Hey there! Yes there are normal gps guided rally races. Baja 1000 & Baja 500 are both done like that. They also allow pre-running of the course prior to the actual race.
