Religion began when the first con man met the first fool - Mark Twain
Funny you are quoting Mark Twain who was Freemason.
@@keksi6844 What's the point here? Do you consider Freemasonry a religion?
@@annmariethompson4587 or when the first con man had a child
Islam is Barberic ideology mixed with God concepts like poison coated with sugar. Religion is the best tool for power: like Arab countries ruling by particular royal family, no election they are enjoying with massive oil wealth. Even men are getting authority over women. All this possible due to fake God concepts. After death nobody come back and say the reality... This political game will continue as long as stupid people are there...
As an ex-ethiopian orthodox christian which is a sister church of the coptic orthodox church and now an agnostic, i resonate with this gentleman. thanks for bringing him up!
An informative and interesting discussion. Thanks Seth and Adam.
Another brilliant podcast. Thanks Seth!
Adam, thank you for your incredible work and dedication in exposing the truth about Islam. As an ex-Muslim, your videos have been enlightening and empowering. Your courage and commitment to truth have provided much-needed clarity and support for those of us who have left the faith. Keep up the great work!
Islam is based on a dream and a successful warlord.
"On a nightmare" you mean

Wonderful interview!
I generally follow politics. Your channel is a pleasure.
Things that cause harm always caused harm, whether or not it was 1000 years ago or yesterday. The social acceptability of the harm in one era does not change the objective facts of the harm. Having sex with immature humans is harmful. Always was. The slavery argument fails in the same respect. Making humans property is harmful. Always was.
Yes. The idea that you can argue that these things being subjectively moral in the past, but not in the present, somehow can’t be blamed on religious doctrine, is laughable. Religious doctrine is obviously authored by humans, with no gods involved. Surely an objectively moral god would never allow immoral practices to happen, from the very beginning, and certainly wouldn’t allow it to be doctrine.
Ex muslim here. I'm now at that crossroads between spirituality and letting it all go and sit in my atheism. I'm at this place because I had such a horrible time internally and emotionally being muslim for almost 30 years. I keep thinking that spirituality would be me back to that horrible place and perhaps atheism can free me altogether from thinking soke being hates me.
Stay safe and find community. There is peace without superstition.
Stay safe and find community, There is peace without superstition.
My suggestion: first have a strong inner compass pointing you towards what is right or wrong, and try hard to error on the side of freedom and justice. Let people do what they want as long as they don't hurt others in the process. Second look towards science and rationality and ethics for your answers and let religion go the way of astrology and divining rods. Discard any type of supernatural claim. Believe me I was a jesus freak and letting go of virgin birth myths and a hell etc was difficult but has resulted in a deep feeling of freedom and a strong sense of self. In your case you would need to discard the attractions of dawah and the morally superior feeling of not being an infidel. Have you read "Infidel" by Ayaan Hirsi Ali? Or "unveiled" by jasmine mohammad. or "now they call me infidel" by noni darwish. or "son of hamas"? Strongly recommend them
Stay strong, stay rational. It will lead you to a worldview that can give you the confidence that you have the most correct methods for finding truth.
I was raised in Mormonism and was heavily entrenched for @25 years when I started to learn so much….then I became an atheist/agnostic. So, honestly, I worry about atheists circles when I see the word “spirituality” used because of the religious baggage that comes with that term. Me personally, I am absolutely fine with it. I am spiritual. Every time I look up at the stars and think of the processes and time it takes to make them; I am spiritual. As a fossil hunter, any time a dig up a piece of 55 million year old fossilized wood; I am spiritual.
You see, to me, a spiritual experience is just chemicals in the body giving a person hit of dopamine. That’s not the most romantic way to put it, but it’s true. So why not find things that give you that dopamine hit that is based in reality and not myths? Don’t get hung up on definitions too much, but do try to live life to its fullest and make others in your life enjoy their times with you?
Don’t know if this is the best explanation, but it is what it is and I hope you fine your legs after deconversion. I know I did ands been more fulfilling.
"Faith crisis" is an interesting term...I see those with faith as having a rationality crisis.
Great discussion, thanks for having this conversation.
A very interesting and infomrative conversation. Thank you.
This was a beautiful show, thank you.
It's amazing, to me, how convoluted all religion is. The Jesus story, where he had to die for our sins. Doesn't make sense. Islam is no different. Restoring the connection between god and man. God can make the connection any time he wants. Doesn't make sense.
Before Jesus died for our sins. Human paid own sins by transferring sins to animal. Then sacrifice the animals. Penalty of sins is death

So true about Adam’s calming demeanor, really like that about him
Adam Elmasri 🌹🌹🌹
Among the most lovely persons I knew , Adam is an angel but real and with proofs ❤ thanks dear host ❤
So interesting to me, the evident struggles people have in their relationships with religious belief.
Although raised in a very religious family, I can't say that I ever took it seriously or believed the claims of the church. I simply never internalized any of the dogma.
My parents were wonderful people. They were moral, ethical, and tolerant. I'd like to think those life ways became a part of me. But their beliefs in the supernatural? Not one bit.
it's very rare to have such parents that are ok with the children not believing and at the same time are perfectly in harmony with their own faith.
my parent are somewhat the same, very nice people, same qualifications as you give... I never believed any of it, like you. But as an adult I learned why they actually believe, (from a youth with trauma) and it comes with a lot of negative things. So even if they seem to be ok with it (child not believing) it can still cause all kinds of problems for them, they can start doubting and their whole word can collapse
For me that meant I could not really talk about them on the fundamental things , because I became afraid I would harm them. So here you have another example how even in an seemingly ideal (tolerant) situation, this religious belief can lead to struggles.
I saw adam i clicked, but I think I'll be a new subscriber here, i really liked this video
I loved this story and share about Islam with Adam. Thanks.

Islam is much closer to Judaism than Christianity. The Quran is similar to the Tanakh. The Hadiths are similar to the Talmud. Halal is similar to Kosher. Imams are similar to rabbis. The list goes on.
Except Jews do not practice the death penalties outlined in Deuteronomy 13. Nothing in Moses abrogates this. If another prophet or divine figure did abrogate Moses, they might as well abrogate the first and tenth of the ten commandments.
Absolutely loved this. ❤
How do I know your own, personal, private, particular, infinitely-alterable version of your favorite brand the silent, invisible, undetectable, untestsble god who just happens to be the most popular one where you were born isn't real? Call it a hunch.
Great video Andrew that you did must see by everyone "the story of you"
💚Adam💚
Thank you, Seth.
I probably would not have found Adam via the "ALGORITHM".
Of course, it is almost impossible to comprehend faith by reason and intellect, though both attributes are complimentary to faith. Honesty and truth are to be revered and these are not in any way determined by our feelings. Debunking belief suggests a sense of superiority on the part of the one doing the debunking. By what authority is reason the way to understanding? Despite there comments I enjoyed listening.
I'm from iraq. And yes we also have our religious affiliation in our ID cards, not just what religion but also which sect.
I listen all the time (in part) bc I love Seth's voice but I think his guest, Adam Elsari (?) has a great voice too.
I knew nothing about Islam so that was why I listened to this one in particular... I didn't know that they thought so much about the Jesus character. Interesting.
Great job as usual Seth. I’m more and more positive every time I read the comments and see recent former religious people added to the secular world. Superstition is not the way to
Oops Sydney lol I was close :-))
Child marriage is legal in most of the US. Some states (like California) don’t even have a minimum age.
8:00 It's complicated.
Interview The Muslim Skeptic, next.
@28:27 Seth in some muslim schools (remember "Infidel" by Ayaan) students are forced to memorize the entire Koran. It is primarily what is taught in the school. They know their Korans better than their science books. That might not be the case in western countries but also remember the YTube video of Richard Dawkins trying to teach a class in England and the pushback from both the muslim and christian students.
Well they 'know' the Koran, word for word, but as for actually knowing the Koran, that is understanding it is another thing. Same for a lot ( most ) of christians.
A fool thinks himself to be a wise but a wise men knows himself to be a fool.
It always intrigue me that people become agnostic or atheist in the adult life. What took you so long. I lost my weak faith at 10.
For me, it was the way my religion taught me to fear and mistrust outside sources of information.
I was atheist at 15 years old, I'm 23 now
Mate, you sound Aussie to me though with a funny accent, but that may be as you are in Tassy... ( That was a joke. )
I'm guessing you're in Canberra.??
As I understand, Hadiths are saying and actions of Muhammad.
Nice conversation, but I don't think this man fully understands how Muslims think about Jesus.
Muslims think Jesus is some sort of Messiah, but he's not Christian. Muslims think Jesus was Muslim! In fact, Muslims think we're all Muslims, which is why they call us "reverts."
Muslims think Jesus will return, but when he does he'll be fighting for Islam against Christianity! The following passage describes what this Muslim Jesus will do. From Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 39, Hadith 34:
_______________________________
Narrated Abu Hurayrah:
The Prophet said: There is no prophet between and him, that is, Jesus. He will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognize him: A man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on earth for forty years. Then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him.
I have lived in Australia from 1962. Born in England.
Muslims are seriously disadvantaged in Australia.
I don't hide my id. I live in Batemans bay. You are always welcome.
I'm self educated without any religious beliefs.
Aussie all the way here. Anything not the "correct type" of christian was disadvantaged for a long time, slowly changing in places, but anyone who "looks muslim" is now labeled, by the same power group of christians, as terrorists. As far as I am concerned all religious extremists are terrorists, not necessarily bombings etc, but dangerous beliefs, while "basic" religious people, who are not pushing it at everyone, are people.
( Scott Morrison spent his whole time in power either parroting tRump or trying to protect his church. That is what I mean about dangerous )
Excuse me Adam my writern English is poor.
I would like speaking to you in person.
I'm very simple. Everyone is an individual and must be respected. Same for our fellow critters.
Simply research prewritern history for a better analysis. Just saying
Allah calls to die for him, Christ calls to live for him !
Allah wants submission from all, Christ offers his love to all !
Allah says he is the best deceiver, Christ proclaims he is the Truth.
“Rethinking Islam” making it secular liberal like Christianity or make Muslims atheists. There I saved you guys 45 mins 🤷🏾♂️😂
The message of Quran is End time The day of Judgement .Bottom line
Seth. Mohammed was illiterate. He didn't write nuthin'.
Two verses of the Quran that contradict each other…--
Surah Al-Anbiya (21:98): “Indeed, you [disbelievers] and what you worship other than Allah are the firewood of Hell. You will be coming to [enter] it.”
Surah An-Nisa (4:158): “But Allah raised him [Jesus] to Himself. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.”
Millions of Christians consider Jesus to be the God or the son of the God , according to the first verse, even if one Christian considers Jesus to be the God and worships him, that particular Christian and Jesus will be burned in hell. But the second verse says Allah took the Jesus with himself.
What don’t you finish citing the text of surah 21? Is that because the answer is stating you in the face?
21:98 Certainly you ˹disbelievers˺ and whatever you worship instead of Allah will be the fuel of Hell. You are ˹all˺ bound to enter it.
21:99 Had those idols been ˹true˺ gods, they would not have entered it. And they will be there forever.
21:100 In it they will groan, and will not be able to hear.
21:101 Surely those for whom We have destined the finest reward will be kept far away from Hell.
Jesus even though he was worshipped as a god not because of his doing is exonerated because of his righteousness.
Darn it Seth the least you can do when discussing Islam, the Quran and Muslims is to at least be informed about the subject. You sound unsophisticated and so unsure of yourself and the subject.
The Arabic word علقة alaqa literally means a leach or something that clings. In the Quran that description is of the fetus when it attaches itself to the uterus wall a process called implantation. It is that simple.
23:12 We created man from an essence of clay
23:13 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place
23:14 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creationglory be to God, the best of creator
23:15 after this you shall surely die
23:16 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day.
The question is then how did this man from the seventh century Arabia with no education whatsoever know the process of the creation of the human fetus? Think about it.
Don’t talk to this guy who is a Christian about Islam if you really want to discuss Islam and Muslims.
The greeting in Islam is assalamu alaikum. It is similar to shalom for the Jews. An Arab Christian like Adam would not use that kind of greeting. He might say to you ahlan wa sahlan for example.
