what are the odds of a weirdo like him walking in the middle of nowhere and coming up with such BS? That is the real unusual thing about this video and why is worth watching.
The odds are pretty good I'd say. I had a jogger run directly into my path at the last second and then he claimed I had hit him on purpose. Luckily for me there were countless witnesses who came forward and confronted the man. After that I bought a helmet cam.
Unfortunately, the reason I bought a helmet camera was after I had an incident as well (Driver cut me up, then got out of his car and assaulted me when I slapped his rear wing - he passed about 5cm from me - I was too shaken to take the plate, and didn't have a good description of driver or car, so police couldn't do anything). I honestly wish I had the camera because I like making videos of people, but it's for my own protection (And I just forgot / didn't bother switching it off for this off-road video).
Same as the rest of them. They suspect/or know you're filming. Instead of walking on by like everyone else and being a 'nobody in a crowd of faces'. They make themselves a 'somebody of interest' which is apparently what they're trying to avoid. I do not understand.
Yeah it's weird, if you're that worried you're on camera why make a scene and almost guarantee you're going to be put on UA-cam rather than edited out as non-useful footage?
It's only fair to show how terrible I am on a mountain bike on a relatively straight and flat track, if I'm going to upload the video of this random guy ;)
It's not a bad thing to have some empathy, perhaps think of why he didn't want to be on film. He might be a nice person who has been victimised in the past, perhaps by the police or just by unpleasant citizens, making him feel uncomfortable with any sort of monitoring. Adopting an 'I'm right and you're wrong' attitude isn't often helpful or the most reasonable attitude.
What a ridiculous statement. I don't particularly like being filmed or having my picture being taken either but I realise that I have no control over it when out in public as the law dictates. It doesn't mean I have "something to hide", because I don't.
As a photographer, I get this one quite a bit. It's often when I am taking pictures of buildings in town. People walk up to me asking if I was taking pictures of them or I get security guards telling me I can't take pictures. Ironically by asking you if you had photographed him, you ended up filming him with a clear mugshot, whereas otherwise it would have been an indistinguishable long distance shot.
Top Tips - Always put a chain back onto the front sprocket starting at the bottom of the sprocket then reverse the pedal direction to complete. (It only took me 40 years to work that out).
I have no idea why that didn't occur to me before... Obviously trying to spin the pedal forwards will cause the rear wheel to spin. Derp derp derp - good tip, thanks!
I always found that if you used your gears whilst riding i.e drop from big to small cog reverse peddle then forward peddle the chain goes back on, on its own. You don’t need to get back on your bike.
Not a great thing to do to your chain rings or derailleur though, last thing you need is to bend the derailleur cage just because you can't be arsed to stop for a few seconds to fix it. Better thing would be to take the bike back to the shop you bought it from and ask them to adjust the derailleur stops so that it doesn't go so far as to be able to make the chain come off it's chain line. Or find a youtube video that explains how to do it and o it yourself.
I've never understood people's belief in their right not to be videoed in a public place, where I can already see them. I mean, the camera isn't recording anything that I'm not already seeing.
It depends on where you are in the world. In France, for instance, you can't film people in public without their permission. I think that's dumb. Like you say, if you are in public, then what you are doing is already on full display.
The weirdest and strangest thing about this - which I find so difficult to believe - is that there is a clear blue sky and sunshine in the background in what the video maker wants us to believe is Britain. No. This must be two people with British accents crossing each other by chance in North America or Australia or southern europe.
Chain slips off the front gear? Position pedal so the right-left pedals are horizontal, right pedal is pointing forwards (left is pointing backwards). Grab chain somewhere below left pedal with your left hand. Grab right pedal with right hand. Your hands are crossed, left hand is closer to you, right hand is closer to bike. Position chain on the most-bottom tooth of the gear. Rotate the pedals with your right hand. When ~half of gear is covered with chain, release left hand. Rotate some more so the chain covers all of the gear it should cover. Clean your bike, oil your chain, ask bicycle service for wear, don't spike your trainings (ride a little every day). Good luck have fun.
From my perspective it appeared that that rock jumped up and bit your front tire. (BTW, I'm 62 and have finally given up cycling. I got tired of rationalizing my own falls!)

something about photos of him. In the USA if you are in public, you don't have the right to privacy. Anyone can film you. Is it different where you were?

I came to watch this video, because it's such a beautiful meadow/setting. Wish I was there, riding a bicycle, enjoy beautiful sunny day. Well spent time.
Unfortunately, I found out after this that cycling isn't permitted through the park except on the road and marked cycle paths. So no more rides through it this summer :(
Edinburgh Cycle Cam That's a pity. hey, have you ever been riding bicycle in Greece, near Athens? Also - which exact region is it where u r riding in this video if you don't mind sharing?

Thanks for the tip! This was actually just before the bike's 6 week checkup - I had it for 5 and a half weeks and only used it on the road, so thought I should probably use it "properly" before its check - It's much better now :)
What you look like is not private if you display it in a public place. Photographing you is perfectly legal, and you have nothing to complain of. Surveillance cameras do it all the time. You make yourself appear stupid if you do complain. But it is different in France.

Maybe he's just committed a murder 😳
That finger would go up his ass
Oh lordy 😂if there are no signs for cameras you can record or snap away on your camera. In a public place. Infringement up my arse omg
He was high
did he have something to hide
Is that guy on his own planet 😳
I really had no idea what to say to someone who walks up to me and says "are you filming me?". I should have said "Well I am now..." 😂
Bizarre!
I wonder what he had to hide?
Wow that scenery is beautiful
Don't like it? Well you know your options
Ad Ad I've not cycled outside the UK, no. This is Holyrood Park in Edinburgh - around Arthur's Seat.
During the one day of summer we get here 😜
Lol - what a mad man…
In a public place you can film anybody you like what is he hiding.
Take the bike back to the shop you bought it from mate and ask them to adjust the derailleur stops so that it doesn't go so far as to be able to make the chain come off it's chain line. Or find a youtube video that explains how to do it and do it yourself, then you'll have uninterrupted rides!
Thanks for the tip! This was actually just before the bike's 6 week checkup - I had it for 5 and a half weeks and only used it on the road, so thought I should probably use it "properly" before its check - It's much better now :)
Good skills mate now get out there and enjoy the bike, some lovely rides down towards the coast from Edinburgh!
Or get a multispeed rear hub and ditch that crappy derailleur.
It's all about jealousy. F that guy.
What you look like is not private if you display it in a public place. Photographing you is perfectly legal, and you have nothing to complain of. Surveillance cameras do it all the time. You make yourself appear stupid if you do complain.
But it is different in France.
Does anyone remember a TV series called 'In Bed With MeDinner'? Just imagine Bob Mills getting his hands on this footage pmsl
Here's the show in question: ua-cam.com/video/qT7e2GgtHO8/v-deo.html
Where’s COVID 19 when you need it
Beautiful day for it.
