    OK thanks. I didn't have a hydrometer when I first mixed it. Got one for a test 3 weeks in and it was at 1.000 the same as water and I thought it was broke. But I drank what was in the cylinder to test it and got a decent buzz. I'll just call that a 15% because it felt like it :)

    I am new to this, so please excuse my stupidity. My hydrometer numbers do not have noughts in front of them, so is 120 just 0.120 with me just adding the nought before the numbers

    For the starting gravity, do you take a reading before or after you have added the yeast?

    Can you tell us what the "131.25" number represents? You didn't explain what this figure is or why we are using this specific number. Also, links to the resources you mention are not in the description. Thanks

      Its just the number that's been identified to provide a pretty good ABV estimation :) What resource were you after?
