I will happy if season 2 will dive deeper in his story. Simply, because I developed a soft spot for the actor. The writing leaves more to be desired. For me it does but that doesn’t mean I can enjoy other aspects.
The scars on Qimir look like it came from a lightsaber whip. Venestra wields that type of weapon and it could be a theory that Qimir used to be her Padawan.
@@emmeQuite the episode! One thing is for sure: the Fangirls are going to have a blast on Manny's skinnydipping scene in the cove! There will Fanfictions galore! Good job Basil and his little snout! Better than Scooby-Doo, that is for sure...
8:51 I guess because Osha’s a meknek and would know how to get things back up and Mae probably doesn’t know that. I’m choosing to believe Sol was so wrapped up in his grief he couldn’t see the obvious signs
Aww - hello, Mochi! Bit of a slower one this week, but that's to be expected really after last week. Really liking Qimir's character - he's a very different villain to the others we've seen. He's pressing some of the Jedi's pressure points in ways we haven't seen done on screen before. I'm digging it.
@@kaygee2121 like he could be plagueis ? Or his master could be plagueis?. Idk if he could be plagueis since he’s suppose to be from the muun species, also didn’t plagueis have one apprentice only? (Palatine)
@@Obi416 lol..fancy autocorrect of Palpatine there 😅 Yes, I think Qimir could be Plagueis, and his master is Tenebrous. Qimir is arabic for moon (muun). The planet they are on seems to be Bal'demnic. A planet Tenebrous and Plagueis used to mine cortosis in legends.
I actually don't think Basil told him. I think Sol knew the entire time. Everything he tells Mae is to show her that Osha is a good person and so is he. Basil's reaction was one of surprise that the entire time he was trying to solve the mystery Sol already knew
@@oneironaut420Sol was reading minds in the first episode. Qimir mentioned it in 5 and 6. It appears to be a rare force power that he has. Not omniscience.
@@nathandts3401 I just mean in general people seem to think that Jedi can sense anything at any time. Even reading minds is different from sensing things through the Force. A lot of ancillary media have given the Jedi godlike powers to the point where everyone just says "the Force did it". This is rampant in the sequel trilogy where characters do something purely meant to move the plot along with the excuse "I sense something".
@@oneironaut420 The High Republic project has actually been pretty cool with the way they represent the force. A lot of the characters see the force in different ways and a handful of them have rare, special abilities. Personally, I'm pretty underwhelmed with the depiction of the force in the show.
Cool thing in this episode there is a bit where Mai sees the light when she wakes up Sol is going to tell her what happened, hopefully the full truth and reason for the Jedi being there, with the light signifying seeing everything and secrets coming to light while Osha goes into darkness with the helmet with only a sliver of light. I'm thinking Osha will see a bit of truth, but not all of it, and Mai will be forced to learn the full truth.
I'm thinking that Vader's helmet could have been based off of Qimir's in terms of the isolation aspect, which I think Darth Sidious wanted for Anakin to feel. Christ's peace be with you!
I....felt that this episode was empty. That the plot didn't advance, the character work was minimal, and there was no action. It's okay if one, or even two, of those things are true, if it's made up for by the others. That didn't happen this episode.
"Twitter gonna blow up about this". Yup, twitter did indeed blow up about this.
Qimir is turning out to be one of the most complex characters in this series. The thing is, on many counts, he's NOT wrong, especially about the Jedi.

Basil made it through another episode and even got a fight scene where he bit ankles 😭
he is the real protagonist

That kinda makes Basil’s presence and scenes pointless. And it gives the impression that Jedi are omniscient.
