GROCERY HAUL & MEAL PLAN FOR A FAMILY OF FIVE | MAY 2024

This is actually a recent grocery haul as I wanted to catch up with them a little bit! So I hope it's useful! Have a lovely week - I hope you have sunshine! xx
MEAL PLAN
THURS - Mac & Cheese, with salad and garlic bread for the kids. Mark is cooking for us.
FRI - cricket Hot dogs, hash brown bites, cucumber, hummus and watermelon - Bill’s friend for tea too.
SAT - Curry from the freezer that my Gramps made. Butter chicken curry for the kids.
SUN - Potential BBQ
MON - swimming Creamy chorizo pasta
TUES - swimming Caesar Salad Baguettes
WED - Crispy pork udon, Chinese starters (leftover from freezer) and prawn crackers.

I'm a 35 year-old mum of three, who lives in Cheshire, in the UK, and this is my small part of the online world, where I share parts of my life - whether that's the day-to-day stuff, motherhood, recipes, or all that other stuff that makes me, me. I'm married to Mark, who is honestly my best mate, and we have three children, Bill, Daisy and Stanley, and they seem to be growing up so darn fast these days. We have a golden retriever called Merlin, and two cats called Romeo and Elsa and...hang on, this is sounding a bit like a kid's essay at school isn't it? Sorry about that! I have the tendency to ramble a bit. Life did not go to plan for me, but I am very grateful for that, otherwise I wouldn't be where I am today.
As for this channel, you might find everything from food videos, clothing hauls, home updates, vlogs now and again, and some topics close to my heart, such as coparenting, mental health, hearing loss and Stickler Syndrome too. I am a very average mum, but I try my absolute best at whatever I do, and hopefully you enjoy following along!

As an American, seeing the Dole fruit cups with the cherries was really surprising to me. Big cans of that were a classic for all kinds of 1950’s/1960’s style jello (jelly) mold “salads”. It was also a school lunch classic. I would always eat around the cherries. I preferred the one labeled “tropical fruit salad”. That was often a treat (pudding?) at weeknight dinners when I was a kid. I think seeing mixed fruit with cherries like that is probably nostalgic for everyone millennial and older in the US.
Edited to add: hot dogs and mac and cheese is a kid classic in the US. It was a “mom doesn’t want to cook or argue with anybody” kind of dinner. Similar to what I’ve seen folks in the UK do for their kids with beans on toast. Although it was always Kraft Mac and cheese.
