I think the fact that your video was so concise is really nice. No BS. I think the fact that you voiced over the video helps with clearly depicting whats going on in the vid, instead of trying to speak while actually doing the carb mod. I have seen this technique before, and I obviously think it is effective. PS my 1987 KLR650 has 47,000miles on it. Ride on!
im planning to get the lexx, the k&n air filter and some jet kit. but im not sure what brand of jet, fmf power up, the dynojet or the moose jet kit. any experience with one of this?
stock you are restricting air and your exhaust has a ton of back pressure, so the stage two will help add the fuel needed to keep it from burning too lean. adding the stage two could make it run too rich. but bolt it on many say they come lean from the factory so it may help but i think you will lose power myself due to dumping too much fuel.
2 questions. 1. where did you get the stage 2 jet kit? and question 2. what is the difference between stage 1 and stage 2 i am thinking of doing this but only see stage 1. Great vid was happy to see a great vid on this you did a great job showing how to do this very clean ty.
what was your outcome he doesnt respond to posts and i have the lexx with a k&N was looking to rejet and cant find any data on what jet to use. i rebuild gokart engines but im not the best with carbs i can make em run but i dont want to ruin my bike. $150 gokart engine.... oops too lean. my KLR engine ^*$#($)*%)(*# yeah i dont want to experience that. Only upgraded the exhaust due to the D*^& chirp. IT IS SOOO annoying on long rides

so i just bought a used KLR Carb with a stage 2 kit in it. i have stock exhaust and air breather.
you are suggesting it wont run good ?

Great video!
were you happy with the end result? Did you improve performance much?

Thanks for documenting this. Have just had the exact same mod done to my 2010, picking it up this week! Was good to see what is actually involved.
