- Do I have to sell my GT-R? Am I still buying the 2020 Supra or another 370Z Nismo?
I recently got fired from my full time Job! For the last three years I worked at a car dealership!
I handled taking the photos of our inventory. Creating the ads for all the vehicles. Managing the listings on our website and external websites. Valuing all the cars we purchased. Managing turn around time and budgeting all expenses for reconditioning cars, and posting the final retail price for vehicles.
I was going to give my two weeks notice soon anyways to join Mike building our UA-cam channel and living our dream! So my boss beat me to the punch!
BTW... I am keeping the GT-R and I'm still planning on buying the new 2020 Toyota Supra! Or another Nismo Z!
It was a good experience and I learned so much about the automotive industry. But I'm ready to pursue my dream! Thank you all so much for the support! 2019 here we go!!!!

Jon Becker Well there weren’t really any ‘secrets’ within the dealer. It’s more of just general knowledge of what dealers are looking for when buying a car and what they think when selling a car. And how banks work. So technically it’s all general knowledge of how the car buying business works

@@JonBecker81 Oh yeah I've seen the bad sides too. Luckily I was with a dealer with high morals and we always went for the fair deals wanting everyone to be happy. And since I was in charge of giving customers trade values on their cars, I couldn't live with myself if I tried to screw people. I'd always show ppl the values and competitive cars for sale to show my price was fair. So I'm glad I was with a good company

Brian, please review the 2019 Subaru Forester. I'm interested to know your driving impressions since there's only one sole powerplant in the Forester for 2019, a CVT engine. I mostly wonder about power since it puts out only 182 hp and overall reliability. Thank you for sharing Brian, you are only going up from here.

Question for you; been thinking about putting a tesla screen in my GTR. Still would have the gauges and function pages on the new screen, would that hurt the resale value?
It really won't effect resale. It might make a buyer or two not want it if they don't like that, but it might also be the reason someone chooses to buy your GTR over others. Don't worry about it ;)
I was let go from my job in car sales as well. Currently trying to find something in marketing or similar.

I think it would be great if you make some informational videos about the dealership pricing of new and used vehicles as I know very little about it. I enjoy your channel and started watching it due to the 370Z Nismo that you owned and last year I ended up buying a 2012 370Z Nismo with low mileage and I love driving it. Thanks for the excellent videos and I'm glad that you and your brother have the opportunity to do what you really enjoy doing for a living.

This was the first time i watched your Channel and i really connected right away, i am a full time maniac about cars, i know a lot about prices, engines in particular and overall problems etc, i dream about working with cars but have no mechanical knowledge or degree, i love marketing and sales and have done it in the past few years in a different subject, i would love to have a job like your's but have no money to invest in cars in the first place...I want to ask you for an advice, i am going to start a business with a friend that is a car painter and your opinion would be much appreciated about what steps i can take from here, i am thinking about car detailing business but overall i love to drive, test, improve and talk about them :)

Is there a certain degree required to be an inventory manager at a dealer, like if someone had a finance degree could they still do that job
I don't think so. A lot of car dealership jobs you can get by working your way up to it. And my dealer was a very small family owned dealer. It was me, finance manager, the owner and his wife, and a detailer. So my photography job morphed into handling buying cars and doing the entire marketing side.

Definitely will! However I would stay away from buying a brand new Hyundai or Kia. The depreciation is absolutely horrible. You'll loose a lot of money on one. Stick with a used one for half the price, and then in two years get the new generation as a 2 year old car.

I can do that! You will have to start small tho. My first auto loan was $10k. 6 months later had a $21k loan. One year later was able to buy the GTR with a $44k loan. So you'll need to start small and build credit history over time.

echoing some of the comments already. please do upload videos on an insider look at car financing/dealerships, maybe a primer on leasing vs. buying (and strategies on how to get the best price for both), purchasing used vs new, etc. would really be interested in getting your insights given your past work experience.
jasperac I can definitely do that! I don’t have any experience with leasing cars, but new vs used and the ins and outs of financing I know pretty much everything about. Can definitely help!

Yes, make a video explaining real dealer holdback for each mfg. and true dealer cost...not the inflated invoice prices which are meaningless, financing (how dealers buy lower rates and mark them up for addt'l profit) and floor plans. Not that any of this knowledge will result in a lower purchase price but at least one will know how bad a deal they really got instead of thinking they did well. Thanks for the information.

Dude any stock car goes for more money than modified period. Look at all the modded mustangs and corvettes compared to the stock ones are always several thousand $ more
Just some friendly advice, if you and your employer came to decision together that it was best for you to leave, then you didn't actually get fired. That sounds rather harsh and doesn't look good for your working abilities.

Greg Taylor I did get fired. Just over the last year we had talked about one day I’d probably be leaving to do YT full time. He noticed that my motivation at work was going down and told me he had to let me go.

Emman4theWin Zx As long as your credit and income can support it. Although you loose a ton of money with a lease. Financing would be a much better option
