    My favorite band of that era. Great songs, and Ross Childress was just about the only guitarist in a high profile band in the 90s who was still flying the flag for shred guitar, though he rarely showed it within the context of CS.

    • @markyboo
      @markyboo 9 років тому +10

      Speaking of guitarists, this footage of CS annoys me because the camera spends more time on Dean than Ross. Dean was a fifth wheel in the band, only there because he's Ed's brother. He didn't write anything, his playing is buried in the mix (sometimes he's straight up miming playing) and he doesn't even provide backing vocals. It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't play on any of the recordings.

    I think Ed Roland is a under rated song writer. No, the most underrated song writer, as they are probably also the most underrated band, of the 90's for sure. They became my favorite band for the 90's but I have to admit, I didn't, in the beginning know many of the songs of there's played on the radio was even them. Until I started to seriously investigate and buying their albums. I used to get them and candlebox mixed up big time when they both had come out about the same time. And to this day and back then every person I ask when one of their songs come on if they know who it is, not one person knew but they always said they really liked whatever song it was

    Always felt like these guys should have had a bigger following, they already have a bunch of hits. Surprised they weren't able to maintain the spotlight.

    I Really Love This Band. I sadly, just don't know much about them...Any info would be appreciated:) They really sound like U2. A tribute is played here. Pardon my ignorance of the bands history.

      You can easily google for info on Collective Soul. Basically though, one of the more successful US rock bands through the latter half of the 90s, lower profile since then.

    Collective Soul are just classic level great rock, with music that has lasted over decades, but are oddly unsung.
