Woah! I've known the Captain of the flight, Classens, since early in my flight training!!! I'm pleasantly surprised to see him on here. Feels like just yesterday we were back at flight school. Great to see him so far in his career, clear skies and fair winds captain !
This is the epitome of video that I love to watch. The Caravan, for me, is one of the best products Cessna has ever made. They have been making wonderful “high wing” aircraft for a long time. I had the pleasure to solo in their small Cessna 152. The scenery was jaw dropping and you were in good hands with the professional pilots, who have many years ahead. Thanks - Jim
I flew Federal Air a few years ago. On our way back to JNB from a dirt strip airport a young lady came of the plane with a cooler, gave us some beers or soft drinks, carried our luggage, did the briefing, folded the stairs...and flew us to JNB. Great memories there !
Some of my favourite videos are with the Grand Caravan aircraft good to see young pilots up and coming as well give them a number of years and they will go from being the big fish in a small pond to a small fish in a big pond moving to say an A320 size aircraft.
Love seeing short local aviation from around the world. It is not only fun for aviation fans but also those who enjoy learning a bit more about these local and national services..lower to the ground. Thanks.
I have taken the flight many times. A couple of times there were animals near or on the airstrip and so the airplane buzzed the strip first (to scare the animals off) and then landed on the second pass. The safari vehicles awaiting the passengers will also try and move animals away in anticipation of the landing.
Love this and your other vids! But you should get a lapell mic for yourself and the guy you're interviewing :) add voice recording in the cockpit (ATC etc) and it's perfect! edit: just came to where you have the cockpit audio. nice! :)
Last time I flew Fed AIr in October 23' I was in a cessna too, 35 degrees outside and they had us waiting o the tarmac for 35 minutes before getting clearance, it was a very painful experience. My previous flights with them have been better especially the twin-engine planes.
Another great vlog Gabriel I got to fly on a Cessna 208 Grand Caravan way back in 2003 on a visit to Honduras 🇭🇳 but wud love to fly on the PC12 and Beech 1900D but bring on the next one 😊😊😊
I'm on the verge of finishing my CPL. Does anyone here know how many hours is required for me to become a First Officer for Caravan at FedAir? It's a bit unclear on the sites.
For a First Officer position at Mokulele Airlines, the minimum requirements include 250 hours of total time, 100 hours of cross-country flight, 25 hours of which are night flights, and 50 hours of turbine time or 75 hours of instrument time. For a First Officer position at PlaneSense, the minimum requirements include 750 hours of total flight time, with a preference for 1000 hours, and a current and valid FAA Commercial or ATP pilot license with single-engine land ratings. For a First Officer position at Morningstar Air Express, the minimum requirements vary by aircraft type, but for the Cessna Caravan, it is 1500 hours of total time or 1200 hours with 300 hours on type.
Hi, you should get in touch with them, send them a note and tell them you're interested - I'm told you could get in the door pretty quickly if you are a good candidate, have the required skills and are committed. Send me a message on Instagram @gabeleigh if you want me to put you in touch with someone for more info.
Hi im from greenland and want to be a pilot one day and i wanted to ask how you ask them to be in the cockpit i once goy lucky bc the flight attendat was my familiy and she asked the pilots if i wanted to be in the cockpit but my dream is to be in the air greenland a330-800 neo and idk how to ask
Thank you dankie appreciate your vlogs about my home country SAA . I have watched all the other the vlogs just made me so homesick currently abroad. Hope you do many more 🙏🙏🇿🇦🇿🇦
Lol I thought that there's something wrong with camera level at MSFS2020 while flying this airplane but pilots really see nothing while in cockpit. I don't get constructors, they should actually have pilots heads as high as possible. How do they even taxi when they don't know where they go unless pilot lean head out of the avionics panel.
They are sooo young! What a great start to a career in aviation!
We have such an amazing young aviators community here. It's really amazing.
Agreed it's so impressive.

Awesome to see South African aviation get featured like this!
Thanks it's a really great place to make videos!
Wow, you’re really making South Africans proud here. FOUR videos on South African aviation!!! Great stuff ❤
That captn seems so positive it's infectious. Great to have such a representative for an airline!
For sure!

That's great to hear, thanks!
An amazing video is always 🎉
I'm loving those trip reports in South Africa!
Really glad you like them!
The 1st officer is thinking "hou op praat Emile, ek wil huistoe vanaand wees" 😂
As a Dutch person I could understand your writing.

Once again, a flight we could never take in our lifetime. Just like the recent northern ones. Thank you so much for this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great seeing Emile. Always been a great guy since flight school days
Pilot is only 21 😊 he seems a lovely young man. And you have the best job, but you know it already
Amazing, great to see disciplined checklist use and detailed approach briefing in the cockpit even in a small operation like this 👍

WOW what an incredible video and a Captain at 21 years old, I take my hat off to you young Sir.

Gabe hopping in a Caravan. Not a sexy airplane but that doesn't matter. I love it! Oooo and that G1000Nxi. ❤
Flashback warning! I did this during 2005 for Federal Air. Flew in the Krüger park with the Caravan. Great fun and a wonderful place.
Please do airlink e190 behind the scenes operation or saa a320
Really working hard to bring you an Airlink one, hopefully soon!
FedAir for the win. Good job guys!

Emile for the W captain
Renoster! Check!
can i find federal airlines in flightradar24?
Yes you can - the best way as of now is to search the registration of one of their aircraft, like the one in the video: ZS-KMH
❤❤❤❤
🥰
is it possible to join u on your adventures
ahh here's the Video.
Yep!
