HODS was awful, I love the actors but it was all depression and absolute misery. There was no love, no friendship between Barnabas and Willie like in the tv series, no warmth in the Collins family, lies and betrayal, rage and death.
Well said!! Kate Jackson really puts her heart and soul into it! Unlike the other Angels it wasn't her goal to look sexy but to give it her best as an actress! Yet she was very sexy at that. And a fantastic actress!! Wish I could watch Dark Shadows. Unfortunately I never got the chance to watch it.

I was born in 1970 so I never saw Dark Shadow and The Rookies. I grew up watching Kate Jackson on Charlie’s Angels, Scarecrow and Mrs King, and Baby Boom. Someday I would like to watch the years of Dark Shadow Kate was in only and also watch The Rookies.
RIP, Lela Swift. Re Ms. Jackson's comments, Ms. Swift was one of the few female directors out there then (and now) helming a show that was on its last legs. By the time Kate was on the show, it was down to the last 9 months. Maybe ABC was giving a lot of pressure to Swift re budgets? scripts? to keep the costs down as the cancellation date approached? I think this is a fine, affectionate interview.
She looked beautiful on Dark Shadows and she is beautiful here. I didn't like her on Charlie's angels. It seemed like they "uglied her up" so the other 2 would shine. I look at a picture of the 3 of them and they have 2 glamour girls and Kate wearing a plaid shirt buttoned up to her neck with an ugly sweater vest over it and her hair wacked off. She looks more beautiful in this video than she did in her 30s. If it's plastic surgery, I don't care-they did a great job!!!
I do not agree! First of all Kate was just as gorgeous as the other women on Charlie's Angels, she just didn't glam it up as often as the others did and she didn't have the Barbie doll hair (thank goodness!!!!). No one ever "uglied her up". She was always beautiful on CA and it was her own decision what to wear as a private detective. Not surprising she was the only Angel believable as a cop being such a fantastic actress. I have watched all of Kate's 69 Charlie's Angels episodes and she wore a lot of pretty skirts and shiny blouses especially in season 1. Some sexy 70s pants suits, too! And some other fancy and lovely outfits. By season 2 fashion changed slightly. Plaid shirts became more popular and all of the Angels wore them now and then. Kate still did some glam stuff, too, and she looked stunning. Personally I love her best in cool casual clothes such as those tight and sexy bell bottoms, T-shirts and blouses. As for the hair, I never cared for the big hair the others had. In fact I think Kate's hairstyle on Charlie's Angels is the best and so lovely. It was very pretty, silky and playful! Frankly her hairstyle in this interview here does not much appeal to me. It looks too much "Dallas" or "Dynasty" to me. No, I looove her Sabrina Duncan style. She was the coolest and the unconventional Angel. And to me she was at the height of her beauty back then. Don't get me wrong she has always looked gorgeous! But those 70s were just magic and I love the off-beat, perky, fun Sabrina Duncan character. Solely Kate's awesome invention. While I love all of Kate's interviews the one in the link below is my favorite. They did it while they were filming a CA episode in 1977 and you can see how gorgeous and radiant Kate looks. Very pretty hair and outfit. Charismatic woman! What's not to love
I watched that interview too (I assume you're referring to his comments about Lela Swift).... he really didn't seem to like Grayson Hall either.. mind you, he seemed to be in a rather combative mood in the interview, even criticizing the fellow conducting it.
@@JohnCee754 I met and interviewed Frid about 20 years ago. He was extremely candid about cast and crew members and his personal life. NOT for publication of course but we had things in common and remained phone friends until his death. And, he did not think much of Hall's supposed talent. Lol I was happy to learn that he was very fond of Miss Bennet and Mr. Edmonds.

Unfortunately, ''Night of Dark Shadows'' was nowhere near as good a movie as ''House of Dark Shadows''.

Wow - so she wasn't fond of director Lela Swift. That's the first time I heard one of the DS actors bad mouth her.
Dennis Patrick didn't have anything good to say about Swift either.
