Asili (flute) is a wind instrument of the Luo community. It was/is being played by Kenge Kenge band during community important occasions e.g Childbirth and naming ceremonies, initiation, Wedding, funeral and other ceremonies. As MANENE CULTURAL TRUST we document and preserve the tangible and intangible heritage of Asili and other instruments for posterity by offering a platform for those who wish to learn how to make it, preserve it and play the instrument.
