A follow up: Showed this vid to an Open Art Studio last evening and saw speechless people's jaws physically DROP.
Stopped at an inneractive display encouraging people to study 3 D printing, showed the video, and this artist's name and video info were requested and written down for refference by the people running the display.
I'd say at least 20 people were "influnced", strike that, were " inspired" by my showing them the video.
I also made the suggestion that "maybe" this artist's work could influnce the use of 3D printing & 3D pens that could in turn lead to SIMILAR work in those respective mediums(???).
Meanwhile, finally taking time to read the printed messages displayed in this video I am now assuming the works shown are now owned by several top end clothing stores in the NYC area. Meaning we would have to travel to the stores to see the works.
To all those who gave my original comment thumbs up: Maybe we can influence a sponsor to arrange a multi city tour of some of this artist's work??? (Or maybe, another medium, 3D photo images of the work?)

Wow! This is quite a challenging work, turning fabric into human sculpture. A Person with great patience can only master it....Wowww this is great!!🧙‍♂️😍👏

  • @MercyMburuNyakio

And I just kind of let the fabric go where it's got to go. You can force it and you can get great results but... There's something more interesting by letting the fabric sort of... Just work in harmony with it.
*And then you get two stories, one is what I've done with it and the other is what it's doing by itself.*
This guy has just so beautifully articulated the bond between an artist and his work. Like a relationship where two entities come to meet and meld into a wonderful, perfect symphony. I like how he talked about the occasional spontaneity of the fabric that wasn't his doing in some sort of conciliatory but overwhelmingly fond way.
He's just so passionate and I'm just so taken with everything this video represents - even that part about how the 'energy' of city gives him a Carte Blanche to take his art to new extremes.
Thanks to the amazing editors and people at New York Magazine who made this possible!

KanadeTenshi you can't determine what art is and isn't. Art is such a vast and broad thing. There's no sole definition of what art is. Its subjective. Splashes of paint on a blank canvas is still art. Art is art when you say it is. "Actual" art. What does that mean? All art is actual art.

    • @belal5053

@@octaviawinter9768 that is not true. At allll. Art was always objective. Required skill. It wasn't until world war when the US started pushing it to be "subjective" in order to be different from the Russians/Germans. It was an actual politics that allowed for this
