Please solve this : Suppose you want to test the null hypothesis H0 : miu=100 against the alternative hypothesis H1: miu>100 using, alpha = 0.05, the population in question is normally distributed with mean 96 and standard deviation 12. A random sample of size 42 is used (i)Sketch the sampling distribution of X assuming that H0 is true.( ii) Find the probability of type II error and power of the test.

I want to add one more question regarding type 1 error .
I.e., in my book it's written what is the chance of making type 1 error ., Wrt it written is if p smaller than .05 and if one claims that he will reject null hypothesis if there is less than 5% chances of getting results when null hypothesis is true .

why would a reseracher work on two different level of significance in the same research problem
As per my knowledge there is no need to do any additional work for another level ... First we should check our results and values on any one level... After rejection or in case of fail to rejection.. we should go for another level....
In this nothing is big... We have to just compare values with two different values...
