Nah, Helter Skelter was Number 11 in the first game. He was the guy who got killed in a cutscene (and also in the first trailer for the game). The guy who appears in this game as the tutorial fight is his brother, and he actually IS called Skelter Helter.
Can you guys believe it’s been a year and 10 months since the previous NMH VOD was uploaded? Freaking wild. I remember watching that VOD the days before I entered uni.
Nice to see No More Heroes 2 on UA-cam! While I’m also sad that Henry got snubbed in this game, I’m glad you enjoyed it and I can’t wait for you to check out NMH 3 and maybe Travis Strikes Again beforehand!
One of my fav video game songs of all time came from this game (despite never playing it)- Philistine, which is the song #4's Margret Moonlight's song. It really digs in deep into Travis. And yeah as Travis said, it's "Catchy as hell". One youtuber did a ranking of his fav Video game songs (ones with lyrics), and this ranked very high, I think Top 3 at least (it wasn't #1).
I think another reason why I like this game is that, the plot is such an enigma if you really dig into its vagueness besides revenge on the surface. But it truly was Travis’s Desperate Struggle
Fun fact about this game, no one knows who actually wrote the story, since NMH2 doesn't have any credited writers. Though yeah, I felt the same way about NMH2 that Nico did, it had some neat moments but it really didn't have the same magic as the first game. I also feel like Travis' character got pretty flanderized. But anyway I think Travis Strikes Again is great and depending on my mood is either my favorite game in the series or my second favorite, the only caveat with playing it now is that on top of being the third NMH game, it's also a 20th anniversary game for Grasshopper Manufacture (the studio behind NMH) and as such it incorporates tons of characters, references, and easter eggs, from the studio's other games like The Silver Case, 25th Ward, and Killer7, and while the game is still enjoyable without understanding the references I'd still recommend checking them out since it adds to the experience (on top of them being interesting games in their own right.) As for NMH3 it's unfortunately feels as rushed as NMH2, but at the very least the combat is actually really fun and well-designed (definitely the best in the series) and the bosses are fantastic.
@@GavGamePad Its a game series no more heroes is a part of. Twilight Syndrome, Moonlight Syndrome, Silver Case, flower sun and rain, killer 7, 25th ward, no more heroes series, and many other smaller projects. Travis Strikes again and nmh3 heavily reference the prior games
I know it's been a year, but i just wanted to remind you. Play Travis Strikes Again first. Some things in NMH3 won't make sense if you don't play TSA first
No More Heroes 2 was definitely a weird title. There were some cool parts here and there, playing as both Henry and Shinobu were pretty groundbreaking for the time. You have some really good fights like the one with Alice Twilight. Then you have the absolute ass boss fights like Jasper Batt Jr. If you are familiar with the Autarch of Flame (Alex Rochon) during the late 2000's. He DESPISES this twat with every fiber of his being. According to Suda 51, he intentionally made the final fight suck as a way to make the player feel unsatisfied. Almost like a bit of a commentary that vengeance won't make you happy, even if you do get the justice you sought after. But all in all, this is still a good game. It may not have been as amazing as the first game, but I like what Grasshopper Manufacture were trying to experiment with. This is probably my second favorite or my third favorite game in the series depending on what mood I'm in. But it's still worth checking out. And I can't wait for you to check out 3 or maybe Travis Strikes Again.
I'm genuinely confused that some people in chat compared this game to DMC2 lol. Like damn NMH2 has it's flaws but the fanbase still love it for what it was. DMC2 is just complete ass. Edit: To my understanding the last scene is a year later with Travis reconnecting with Sylvia while she's working at a phone sex hotline (I guess??) place after she lost her job when Travis killed the last Boss and took down the UAA. Idk man I think that's what happened but like we don't really think too hard about the ending it's kinda ass lol
While i do love this game overall and im glad Nico enjoyed it to i do however think NMH2 is arguably the weakest game in the series. NMH2 definetly has its strong moments for sure but it also has moments that are pretty questionable to say the least and the game overall is just not as much of a masterpiece as the first game was imo. and the main reason for this games flaws is that Suda51 was not as fully involved with the development of this game as he was busy developing a game that sadly due to publisher meddling was completly changed from his original vision. I cant wait for you to eventually check out No More Heroes Travis Strikes Again and No More Heroes 3 as those two games are so good. NMH TSA despite being a spin off is an incredibly fascinating game. The game is basically Suda 51 reflecting on his past as a video game developer and its super interesting. NMH3 is imo the best game in the series as that game kinda takes the best aspects of the previous games and puts it into NMH3 and I think that game overall has the best story, gameplay and bosses.
4:40:38 lol travis can finally kill the one person he wasnt able to last game 6:01:36 first death 6:23:20 something that confuses me henry killed three guys for you not counting that fight u did as henry but you ony went from 7 to 5
bruh someone in chat really said the American version of Margaret's theme is "much more like a rock song". HAVE THEY EVEN HEARD IT?! IT'S LITERALLY A POP SONG WHILE THE JAPANESE VERSION HAS A SCREECHING GUITAR SOLO AND HEAVY DRUMS. I do not understand the people who prefer the American version to the Japanese one, it's just ridiculously generic outside of the lyrics.
I heard the developers made the last boss purposely unsatisfactory to make the journey of revenge have an empty ending. How far excuse goes is up to you, for me it's just a purposely bad final boss that kinda doesn't leave any impression except, this sucks.
It never really felt intentional. They have this whole epic drawn out three phase boss battle, then it just ends abruptly with no reflection or acknowledgement whatsoever. All the potential consequences and stakes get undone, leaving no one unsatisfied except the player. It would have made more sense if Travis immediately trounced this pipsqueak and had nothing to show for it but everyone he cares about gone.
Suda wouldn't pull some bullshit like that. I think the fight just sucks because it's poorly designed, no symbolism at all. This isn't Spec Ops: The Line.
While it is odd how inexplicably bad it is compared to the mostly alright roster of boss fights, I really don't think there's much reason behind its faults. The only thing I can buy is how goofy the character himself is, along with the lack of a solid conclusion. But the boss fight itself isn't something I feel like they would purposefully make bad. Especially since it would be competent enough if they got rid of that damn tornado fist move. Whoever put that attack in deserves to be blown out a window in the exact same way.
Oh I see that you fought THE boss. You know, the boss who is really despised by the countdown community back then, FOR GOOD REASON? usually I just recommend to stop the game after Alice Twilight as she makes a much better final boss. Edit: Damn you were real lucky on his 2nd form. You only died from the window once, but wow I can't believe none of his tornado punches knocked you to you death.
Wow nico really lame out mimi fight. It's actually a fun fast paced fight. But dude forgets he's got different stances and goes for heavy and slow all the time and got punished for it. Not to mention he doesn't know when to back away and just gave up after 1 death. I never complain about how nico decides to play cuz I'm just here for fun time. But it was odd seeing him give up after one attempt cuz he just didn't get the hang of how Henry played. Mimi herself is not a cool character but her fight was fun. At least for me.
If you looked at his comment on the Kirby vod, it's because one, *a lot* of people have been asking for these vods, and two, he didn't have a short lp he wanted to do before ff16, so this was the plan until that launches, then he'll be uploading those
Not gonna lie...still salty about Henry getting snubbed this game.
So, catching up with the streams, huh? I can dig that
Henry got snubbed? We're the ones who got screwed out of 3 extra boss fights.
I am more salty of Jasper for that stupid tele-punch spam.
I can't wait to see your reaction to the final boss
There should be a spin off game filled with all of the cut content called no more cuts.
Travis: I now have two beam katanas!
Henry: Man, you get two? I only get the one...
Shinobu: You guys get beam katanas?
Never forget that canonically the Skelter Helter fight started at sun down and ended at sun rise. We only see at most one and a half minutes of it.
*Helter Skelter.
Nah, Helter Skelter was Number 11 in the first game. He was the guy who got killed in a cutscene (and also in the first trailer for the game).
The guy who appears in this game as the tutorial fight is his brother, and he actually IS called Skelter Helter.
Clearly none of you watched all the trailers. Though the name being confused between the two characters is kinda the point.

Travis Strikes Again first. 3 is the latest in the series.

I still really like NMH2.
It was written by an orangutan in a tuxedo.
I'm pretty sure they long since confirmed who wrote it
@@The_WIll_OF_D99 oh really? who was it then? I've been wondering for years who wrote NMH2
Whatcha mean by Travis' character got flanderized?
2:04:52: Still one if my favorite quotes from this game. Well, that and...a certain other line near the end. XD
I hope he plays the rest of Kill The Past and doesnt just skip to the other nmh games

I love this whole trilogy from Suda51. Very Tarantino like influenced throughout with character Travis being my favourite anti-hero in gaming :-)
It has 4 games that game you left out is also canon and has a lot of lore for it.
Travis strikes again
Watching him forget he can dodge for 70% of the game hurt so much
I really love NMH2. Super underrated soundtrack and much faster combat.
Kinda bummed nico never used the Peony, that sword's gimmick of getting super huge was really fun
GAAAAAASP!!!!
AFTER 10,000 YEARS!
NO MORE HEROES 2!!!
These uploads of your twitch streams are fun to watch since I can't view them due to work scheduling. Can't wait to see what the next full LP will be.
It will be FFXVI. Nico made it no secret he is going to LP that game when it comes out. After TOTK is done, then it is Rain Code. Two obvious LP's.
Despite its oddities, I really enjoy the sequel.
BTW, you barely use the rolling cancel move, lol.
