Great video, I just bought an old Canon film camera that has ef mount, tempted by Sigma ef m lenses for my M50 but sticking to purchasing ef lenses only. Keep posting videos.
Can I ask which adapter you used to mount the lens on your M50? I just got this same lens. None L, so the lower end one and I can’t figure if I’m even able to mount it to the M50 body. Help please 😣
For me the original EF 24-105 f4 mounted on a camera with APS-C sensor is a real under-performer. With a speed booster it's a disaster. On a full frame, even with an EF to RF adapter, it really shines.
Use the 24 to 70 for a bit cuz a buddy of mine has it I didn't get a chance to really compare I do think that the 24 to 70 is a bit sharper but I don't think it's a crazy difference I think you be good with either or I just pick up whichever one is cheaper at the time
I would like you to show us the official information FROM CANON THEMSELVES that canon ef-m lenses are not going to be made for this system. Besides, what is wrong with the current lineup? Ef-s lenses are inferior to ef-m lenses die to their age and often too big. The FF lenses from canon are too big and expensive so it defeats the purpose of this camera. The philosophy behind this this camera is: small, portable, affordable, decent, photos first, videos are secondary. Both, the eos M cameras and ef-m lenses follow this philosophy.
Lots to unpack here. First off, no there is no official statement FROM CANON THEMSELVES saying they are no longer going to support them but are they still making lenses for the mount? No they're not the introduction of the Canon r10 is all the proof I need that they're done with the EFM mount the r10 is small lightweight compact just like the M50 and 6 Mark 2 with better capabilities and the RF mount. As far as EFM lenses being Superior to EF and EFS lenses I respectfully disagree. From what I understand EFM lenses never got an L series version and I honestly think they pale in comparison to many of the EF and EF lenses out there they're not bad lenses at all they are sharp Compact and lightweight but the first party lineup is garbage luckily Sigma and viltrox make excellent Primes for the mount. Lastly I agree about the camera being made for travel and for beginners again I respectfully disagree about adding larger lenses and Equipment defeating the purpose. These sensors and all of the EOS M cameras are pretty solid save for their poor low light capabilities but if you're young and getting started and want to take your film and photography to the next level I do believe that adapting lenses is a better option than investing into a brand new camera right away it's the same reason why a lot of filmmakers are using red komodo and Alexa LS as their A cam despite the fact that they were made to be B cams or crash cams

Although, from what I have seen, the cheaper RF lenses are not that great either. And I am distrustful of Canon making any decent RFs glass in the future. The R10 is not a a small camera compared to M series (unless you have bigger hands and all cameras smaller than R6 are "small" and "compact" from your perspective). I can add sigma 16mm on my M50 mkII (or m6mkII) and make it slightly bigger or add smaller lenses and make it very pocketable. M series gives you that choice. One cannot do that with R10. I've held R10 in my hand, compared it an M camera, and it feels like R10 is going back to ugly, bulky DSLR. Even if you strap the RFs 18-45 or future RFs 22mm it will be bulky. If I wanted a camera of this size I would have picked RP instead. But I will wait and see how the R100 will look like and what will it offer but I doubt that after I am done with M I would want to get into RF. Probably I will go with Sony or Fuji. So what R10 has slightly better specs? For most people, M cameras have more than enough to offer for the next few years. But if you are a pro or a "serious" enthusiast you will probably pick R10, R7, RP, R6 or R5.

Yeah those Sigma EF-M lenses are crispy but the EF lenses can follow you to your next camera

Not much but the price. The comlite and viltrox adapters ive used have all preformed very well at a fraction of the cost

Yeah I forgot the ND filter had to crank up the shutter speed

I'm to poor to buy camera
Try getting a canon rebel T3i for about 150-200 on ebay that sensor put the rebel series on the map and the image still holds up
