- Prawn here with a look at the Lian Li Uni Fan TL and TL LCD fans. These are fans that offer improved performance over the SL Infinity fans but also have some other interesting highlights that include new connection logic, reverse and standard blade orientation and more.
You can get these fans in 120 and 140mm variants, in white or black, with triple packs of the regular and reverse models available (for 120mm) and single packs too.
Other features include:
28 mm thickness for improved performance (but still work with standard radiator screws)
9-blade design with LCP design to cope with fast speeds
Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) reinforced with copper shielding
Cables that can connect at either end of the chain of fans
Locking covers to protect otherwise exposed pins
Daisy chain cables that allow you to connect upto 10 fans on a single controller port
Large infinity mirror on the side of the frame with diffused RGB lighting and 26 LEDs per fan
Different fan groups can have different speeds in L-Connect
Both TL and TL LCD fans can be added to the same controller
21 different lighting effects
LCD versions feature:
1.6-inch LCD IPS display with 400x400 resolution
Can display CPU temperature, CPU load, GPU temperature, GPU load, and fan speed
Or Gif, MP4, JPG and PNG files
Display can be rotated in the software and have hardware lighting set
Apparently up to 7 LCD fans (3+3+1) and 10 regular TL fans can be connected to the same controller.

Prawn you're the absolute best when it comes to gettings detailed information and you do an amazing job at showcasing whatever it is your reviewing. Thank you for all your hard work! Its very appreciated 👏
Thank you kindly. I've got lots more content coming including a detailed wiring guide, build guide, comparison video and more
These aren't something I'd personally want for my build, but it's really cool to see companies like Lian Li continuing to innovate and come up with new and interesting ideas. Also $149 is a reasonable price as most 3 packs of normal RGB fans are around $99 anyway. I can foresee these being sold out for a while.
I just preordered the reverse lcd fans from newegg earlier today. The release date is Jan 6 2024. Im stoked about it. Lian li fan boy here!
They’re all sold out do you think they’ll have more on the day of the release?
Did you try and order from new egg?
@@DirtyMikeAndTheBoys74 sorry for the late reply I’m able to preorder on new egg !
These are the coolest fans I’ve ever seen but 149 is a lot for 3 fans
Its a taste thing... I for one like a more simple look much more than LCD RGB all over the place (less is more)
But the price is actually not that bad, you probably are only gonna buy 3 anyways, and the cost difference between LCD and Infinity isnt that much anymore
it’s not alot when corsair does it though huh?? this has a SCREEN in it why would you not expect it to be expensive 😂this is actually a good price infinity fans go for like 120
I bought 6 of these non lcd fans (1x120 pack 2x140 reverse blade 1x120 single pack) They’re so good
And I JUST waited a month for my reverse blade infinity fans to come in from AliExpress 😂
Worth the wait?
I wish you could have more than 7 fans, like in the o11d evo you can have 10 fans and id love to have all of them with lcd's
They might have perfected the enthusiast PC case with these.. Im staring at my 011 Vision and I dont think I'll actually ever change this case over the next 10 years haha.
This is an actual premium feature for gaming pcs.
Your voice is magic. These videos are a mix of informative and meditative.
What's that white lcd cpu cooler?
Thank you. It's the Galahad 2 LCD. I've got videos on it too 👍🏼 link in the description
I love these fans, I personally want a cheaper version w/ the same look/style minus the LCD screens.
I’m just waiting for them to release the SL-INF 140mm in reverse blade.
Me too
@@TheProvokedPrawn Yeah it kind of makes no sense to me that they only made the reverse blade in 120mm when they have a 140mm model for the regular SL-INF as well. Especially now that they released the O11D EVO XL which can support 420mm top, bottom, side, and front (with the mesh panel), I feel like a lot of people that buy this case (myself included) would want 140mm fans all around, but with no reverse blade option we're just kind of stumped right now. Funnily enough their rival Phanteks does support their D30 fans in 140mm reverse blade, but I prefer the way the SL-INFs look a bit more.
@@TheProvokedPrawn is it only reverse
Nice gonna wait for the sl version of these.
just an idea, lcd fans have more air pressure while non lcd fans have more airflow on 140's (according to spec sheet subject to scrunity) it might be more optimal to side mount the radiator along with lcd and let air flow through bottom to top uninterrupted
I'm really looking forward to any reviews that would compare TL 140 non-LCD to LCD - these numbers make my head spin on which one will be better (if any) with rads
I have pretty much the same setup as you, all TL (3 LCD and 4 LED). From what I see in the video I want to connect the 3 LCD into the controller separate from the 4 LED fans. So 2 fan connections out of controller and no SATA necessary
Thanks for a great review! Not a fan of the hub on the TL-LED fans. It looks like something is missing. Would prefer some sort of cap or sticker for them maybe. I too prefer the look of my SL-Infinity fans. If they come out with an Infinity LCD I may have to pick up a set of 3!
Mental how you can keep 13900k running that cool!
Is there any difference esthetically between the lcd wired and wireless besides the "wired" part?
What are those names that cable can connect each fans?
Quick question: How big of a performance difference are the TL vs SL INF (140mms)? I have some SL INF fans, but am considering the TLs since I won't be looking at my case too often, nor will I be showing it off. Should I stick with the SL INFs?
Great review thanks. Wondering, how many LCD fans can I put in one case ? ? ? LCD FAN LIMIT ???
Think I'll wait for the version that has RGB in the hub. You know that version will emerge. They'll see how these sell, if they do well I'd wager an illuminated hub option will emerge.
Is there any difference in the performance or the way the fans RGB lighting syncs if you connect them up together to 1 port on the controller vs 3 seperate ports on the controller? In my case, I would still like the lighting to sync from one cluster to the other, is that supported when they are each on their own controller port as well? This well mean I dont have to use the SATA power connector
Hey, will you be covering the NV9 from Phanteks?
I don't have a contact at Phanteks sadly. So I'll have to buy it. Maybe some point in early 2024
@@TheProvokedPrawn please do not feel force to buy it. I was just wondering. The Nv9 with all that space and all 140mm fans seems cool.
It is always cool to see that somebody are willing to innovate but I just ordered 6 QX120 fans because I don't like the look of these Lian Li fans.
The QX120 is overpriced at 370 usd for 6 fans but it offers all the features I want and there is no need for cable management.
The 6 year warranty is also great when a lot of competitors only offer 3 years.
Is there any talk of an infinity version 🤔
Hello, I plan on putting these fans in a Lian Li o11 mini case. I noticed that the dimensions of these fans are slightly bigger. With them being 124x120x28mm in comparison to the SL uni fans at 120x120x25mm, will the 120mm TL fans fit in the rear of the o11 mini case? I’m sure they will fit everywhere else, but I’m worried about it fitting in the rear of the case. I can’t find anyone that has put TL fans in a o11 mini, only SL fans. You usually have all the answers to my questions, so I figured that I would ask!
that's beautiful .... but you should have put in a white graphic card .....
Nice. We can play Minecraft on our pc fans.
I hope they make the reverse in a triple pack!
They do. You can get triple packs of the standard fans and the reverse fans, both LCD and non-LCD.
Are the reverse for the back? I'm trying to figure out if I have to get the regular ones to place them in the back of the case for exhaust
I have a be quiet dark Rock pro 4 that I'm going to replace the fan with the LCD version I think it'll look pretty cool.
Enjoy
With all the praise for your voice you ever try singing? OAK RIDGE BOYS TRIBUTE BAND HERE WE COME! YEE HAW!
no, I've got an awful singing voice. Mind you I've always hated my voice anyway.
amazing video as always. do you know if you can use lcd tl’s with the old sl inf fans? like can you use them on the same lian li fan controller?
I haven't tried but I bet they'd say don't. The flat connectors are the same to the recent SL infinity but Lian Li usually says you need the specific controller for the relevant fans
Can I use these on the side to intake and the previous fans on the top as an exhaust, the bottom as intake and side to exhaust? I'd just like these on the side to show anime girls dancing but the other parts bigger fans elsewhere
Quick question...I have installed 3x Lian Li Uni Fan TL LCD 120mm reverse blade fans and 3x Lian Li Uni Fan TL 120mm Reverse Blade Fans....when I power down the computer everything switches off as normal...all the RGB turns off too...but all 6 fans remain spinning...I have triple checked all the connections between the fans and controller and motherboard...I have also checked the BIOS and I'm stumped...no matter what I try they just never stop spinning....they'll only momentarily stop during a system reboot....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Can we mix these with sl120 fans?
sorry, just to check, is the limit of the lcd fans 6 for the whole case? or 6 in a daisy chain?
They say 3 fans per port upto a maximum of 7 on one controller. You can't daisy chain the LCD ones
hi, can anyone help me? the tl lcd ones that are on the side case are regulars right? these are inwards fans so the product name will be lian li TL LCD 120mm fans regulars? they are not reversed blade right ? ty
Just installed 3 TL LCD 120 reverse blade fans into my o11 Vision and the screens didn’t turn on…have to open the case and swap the fans round…should’ve watched your video first! 🤣
Aye quick question. Which lcd fan should i get for exhaust so the lcd is facing outwards, Reverse blade or the normal ones. and are these fans compatible with SL-inf controller
Excuse me, I am a viewer from Taiwan.
I have two TL LCD 120 fans.
They started to make strange noises after using them for more than 2 months.
Has a similar situation happened to you?
So, I have the uni sl-inf 120 triple pack, the new lcd triple pack and 2 aio (aorus waterforce x2 extreme aio for cpu and aorus waterforce RTX4090 aio fans) and I’m wondering if I can or should use the sl-inf? All going into a thermal take p3 pro. Any suggestions?
I got the LCD fans, but can't use them as my PSU has no 6 pin ports (only SATA) and my GPU uses 16 pin so I can't use that. Any recommendations for a PSU that can support intel i9 13900K and a 4090 as well as support 2x lian li TL fans?
Do you prefer more the TLs or the SLs? I think the SLs
SL Inf for me
Great video. Quick question, which version of the triple fan would I want to purchase to mount in the front of an NZXT H7 for intake where the screens would be seen from inside the case?
Reverse, but what a waste putting these at the front.
@@pepesilvia3827 just temporary. Will move to another case where they will be seen from mounted on the side
hey PP. love the videos for sure as i'm a builder myself. Being new to lian li, I got the lian li 011 evo dynamic rgb case based upon your review. Now to my question. What do i get with an already purchased "corsair iCUE H150i Elite CAPELLIX XT", I'm thinking of lian li TL LCD 120 reverse black 3pak for side intake, TL 120 reverse black 3 pak for bottom intake, and finally TL 120 standard black 3pak for top exhaust, hoping that it will go into the corsair radiator just fine screw wise. Does this make sense to you? Also how many USB 2.0 connections would i need in this combination is my real worry?
They should attach to the rad just fine. You can also get this to solve usb worries ua-cam.com/video/d8vELbWWaCQ/v-deo.html
@@TheProvokedPrawn thx for ur prompt reply to this post.
if i was to buy the 3 pack lcd can i use 1 as exhaust an the other 2 on my rad. thanks
Sure
When are these releasing??????
They should be available now?
So nice video. Tnx 😇🙏
Thanks for watching
Does the hub you show in this video come with the LCD fan three pack? Or non LCD three pack too? Thanks! Any idea when OCUK will get stock in?
Both
Could you explain how to connect the Galahad v2? Did you use the original hub with the TL fans?
I used the TL controller. Connected the fans to it and then set the group on the rad to be controlled by CPU temp. I.e. spin more when it's hotter. The pump is then connected to AIO Pump or CPU fan on the motherboard.
Really appreciate the feedback... Happy NY@@TheProvokedPrawn
How about mixing tl, tl lcd and strimmer plus v2?
You can. You just need different controllers
good afternoon. Will it be possible to connect Lian li Tl led 120 3pcs + lian li infinity 120 7pcs , will you need to use two controllers ? and will it be possible to synchronize them?
Two controllers
Thank you!
No worries. Take a look at my wiring guide too ua-cam.com/video/gvDVijV4qvU/v-deo.html
can we use the screw covers from those fans on the earlier versions of the fans just curious?
Doubt it
hi, random question but i've got the kraken z73 aio and wanted to use these fans on that cooler but im not sure how to connect these fans to the three splitter cables coming out of the aio? would the fans work correctly if i connect the l-connect controller to the motherboard or do i have to connect the l-connect controller to one of the three splitters?
Just leave those splitter cable empty and remember which fan port you use then set the fan speed for that to change according to CPU temp with l connect
Since I will use 2 Controllers for that I will need 2 additional PCIe cables from the ones I have. My question is that my PCie cables have 2 PCIe ports each. Can I use one for each controller or will it be a problem? So for example instead of getting two additional PCIe cables I will get one and use my cable with two ports or pigtails or however they are called for the two controllers. I saw that it is bad doing that for a GPU (I think in one of your videos) however I haven't seen anything that says you cant do it for a Fan controller
Apparently it's fine to use pigtails for fans
all Reverse coller ???
Will the fans still work if you don’t use the Sata cable or do you need to for the fans to work
You need the PCIe power cable for these ones
@@TheProvokedPrawn I tried and I’m not getting power with the other Lian li v2 controller the v2 fabs work
@@ToniRawGazer I have a wiring guide here which might help - ua-cam.com/video/gvDVijV4qvU/v-deo.html
@@TheProvokedPrawn thanks brother I’ll check it out
@@TheProvokedPrawn definitely connected the controller with the fans properly but still the fans won’t spin and no lights
The controller that comes with the Galahad 2 LCD-Inf has different connectors, Would I then need two different controllers ? Or would I forgo the controller that comes with the AIO since it appears in the video that you don't have the connector running to it, only the USB connection ?
In my build I abandoned the AIO controller. Connected the pump head to CPU fan, then controlled the fan speed of the fans on the rad via L Connect, syncing with the CPU temp.
Excellent !! Thanks for the reply. That’s pretty much what I had planned. Now just to wait until they are available (I think around the 15th of January). I was going with the Corsair ICue Link but the reverse fans here just have a much better look. Thanks again !!
Should the controller plug into the CPU fan header for PWM controller?
Sys fan or cha fan with pwm control
This might be a stupid question but I have 10 fans in my case, if the max is 7 then would I buy 3 of the other fans to connect or how would that work?
My wiring guide is publishing soon. That should help
what is the difference between the TL and SL fans?
me: I keep seeing builds with Lian Li Uni fans and I love them. I need 9 of them for my O11D Mini Snow Edition!
Lian Li: Sure, which would you like?
SL
SL V2
SL-INF
SL Wireless
SL Wireless LCD
TL
TL LCD
AL
And there are many AIO CPU coolers too which have fans that may or may not match any of these above.
me: ... :( never mind
There are a lot. TL and the wireless models are the newest. There are differences in performance but aesthetics is the biggest thing imo. For me, the Infinity fans are still the nicest. See here ua-cam.com/video/ZdoCrYgZyE8/v-deo.html
just a question but where on earth do you buy a double/triple pack of sl inf 140mm with a controller?
As far I know you can only get single 140s
So Lian Li O11D Evo Rgb is not coming this year?
It's available now I believe? ua-cam.com/video/c-0WW77_fM8/v-deo.html
Can i Put the TL Series in one Case with the SL infinity series with one Controller? or dont work this?
Lian Li says you'll need two controllers.
We have almost the exact same setup. I have a six pack of the Uni Fan SL Infinity connected to its controller, and I have the Galahad II LCD-SL Infinity AIO which is connected to its controller. I want to add just a single TL LCD at the back of my (reversed) Evo RGB case. It's in the perfect position for reading the fan LCD! But what controller can I connect it to and get use of it's LCD? I'd hate to have to buy another controller just for this single fan, or buy another controller to replace either the AIO or SL Ininfity controller. Will it be fully functional if I connect it to one of my existing controllers?
Sadly you need an LCD controller
Yikes. Was doing some more research and found a note at the Lian-Li site that said I also can't connect other fans to this controller except the TL family. Why they do that to us. LOL!!! Rehtorical. $$$@@TheProvokedPrawn
plus do you get better thermals with your gpu vertical or when its directly connected to the motherboard?
Vertical is really just for looks
Well I want it to look good and show off the 4090 lol - temps same? @@TheProvokedPrawn
Question, I'm a noob to this, is the controller a requirement? I noticed buying just one fan says no controller included
Yes. See here ua-cam.com/video/gvDVijV4qvU/v-deo.html
Bản lcd và ko lcd có chạy chung hud ko
Super noob here, if I want to install these as fans on my aio, how do I set them to be recognized as my aio fans and have them act according to cpu/rad temp… do I do that via software or is that a different wiring?
ua-cam.com/video/gvDVijV4qvU/v-deo.html
Remember the port you connect them to and then set a fan curve in L connect to respond to CPU temps and spin up accordingly.
@@TheProvokedPrawn thank you very much ! that answers my question
Does the controller for the sl infinity fans with for the lcd?
No. You have to use separate controllers apparently
Hello, can I connect the lian li lcd with the uni fans sl120 v2 or is it not possible? It seems like I'm wrong and I can't agree with them u.u
They need to be connected separately and you'd need two different controllers
i wan't those fan but with no light only the lcd
Wait, so a maximum of 6 LCD fans per port? So theoretically 10 LCD fans would work with 1 controller?
For LCD fans they say 3 fans per port, to a maximum of 7.
So I'm having a problem with these fans that I can't figure out. I have 3 standard TL fans as my exhaust and I have 2 reverse bladed TLs on my radiator as an intake. I put the standard fans into the controller then connected those to the other group of reverse blade fans and none of them spin or light up. I have the fan header and ARGB into my motherboard but still nothing. However they all will spin if I use SATA end without the controller. Am I doing something wrong?

@@TheProvokedPrawn I've watched this video as well. The only thing I haven't done is run the standard and reverse blades in different groups I have them all together. Lian Li don't directly sell on Amazon. Usually it's easiest to buy from NewEgg, CaseKing or Overclockers. For Amazon it's usually third party sellers selling via Amazon. It's weird and sucks.
@TheProvokedPrawn Big Thanks!
Is Lian Li going to make the normal TL version's center piece covered? kinda looks ugly.
Yeah I'm not a fan either.
maybe someone will have some suggestions... I have 3 of the TL LCD 120's, they are all plugged in, the USB is plugged directly into the motherboard... the fans are spinning, the screens are displaying the default graphics but my LED's are not lighting and L-Connect 3 v2.07 is not detecting the fans/controller, they are plugged into port 2 of the controller... I have tried both heads on my MB... I have tried un-installing and re-installing L-connect... I have checked all my connections... Im at a lost..
Have you checked for a firmware update? lian-li.com/L3-changelog/
Also, one tip, the LCD fans cannot be connected to port 1 on the controller as that won't work apparently. I'm also assuming you're using the TL controller and not another one as that wouldn't work either
@@TheProvokedPrawn I am using the controller that came with the 3 pack, and im using port 2. Is there a way to update firmware without using the L-connect software? when i go into L-connect it doesnt even list the fans or controller in the (Settings-> devices)... Its almost like it doesnt know there is a controller at all
I see more features, I see more headaches, lol.
Do we really need fans with lcd screens tho?
Probably not
The lack of a center cap is extremely lame, like why
If you were fortunate enough to have these do not and I repeat do not use SL fans in combination with TL LCD fans. I spent over the past 8 days trying to get the TL fans to work properly. The only fix was to remove the SL fans replace them with non lcd tl fans and boom they all work with no issues at all. (Too many hours spent just trying to figure out fans for a desktop.. sigh)
Did you try to use both fans on the same controller?
@TheProvokedPrawn I didn't! I did read a warning message about them not being compatible and that I would have problems if I were to use them together. Also one more thing to note, I found out one of the TL LCD fans were bad. Not sure if it happened as I was trying to get them to all work or it was bad before and could have made my situation worse, but the screen turned on had no lights and the fans were going max speed with no way to get the program to recognize it. Going to exchange it today but was something to add from my experience.
My problem with them is you can't add 1 lcd fan into a stack of 3 like everyone would wanna do.
That's fair. I haven't thought of that. You could use one as an exhaust fan
please LCD is Standart blade . plesase vhrite all coller blade 🎉🎉🎉
Nah , i more into lian li sl infinity fan since they got rgb fan blade on it , although , if lian li make another TL version with rgb fan blade , take my money , i don't need those LCD fan since i got hyte Y70 case which already have screen.
It's a nice fan but my taste more into sl infinity.
ye i like how the infinity has the rgb fan blade too
$150 for three fans?!! pretty expensive?
I'm considering getting one LCD at the very back of O11, if only it supported water temp display. And then the rest would be TL 140 non-LCD, but there's no info on how well they perform compared to LCD, besides their specs on paper.
What next? An LCD screen on an LCD screen?
😂
You creators should push back when a company like LianLi does this. If every channel I'm on does the latest from LianLi all at the same time, I just don't watch your content. I've already seen 4 people tell me about the new fans, with the LCDs, and the case. You lose views letting them dictate what and when you post. You're even a few weeks late, and it's still WAY WAY too much.
Weird take. What do you propose I make content on then?
Looks cool, but doesn't cool any better than my $15 Be Quiet fans.
Lian Li - the company that makes super cool products but are always terrible QC'd so they arrive broken and malfunctioning. 4/4 Lian Li products ive purchased ive had to replace because of their terrible quality.
لو انها مصنوعة من الألمنيوم او انحاس البارد فلن ادفع هذا الميلغ لمجرد بلاستك سيئ و شاشات لا فائدة منها.
If it was made of aluminium or cold copper, I would not pay this amount just for bad plastic and useless screens.
why is the middle so uggly
🤷🏼♂️
@@TheProvokedPrawn its like they forgot to put a cover on, I love the fans but that part ruins it for me
@@itsjustbeny yeah I don't like it either
These fans are trash, it kept turn off time to time no matter how I reinstalled the software/update it, no support at all , (I’m using 7800x3d CPU) , wish that I’ve got the Corsair instead.
They’re all sold out
Second :)
