This vehicle project using the chassis of the T24 light tank was proposed in July 1943. This vehicle was to be equipped with the 90 mm gun of the M36 tank destroyer. The U.S. Armed Forces requested that testing and chassis improvements be completed before converting the vehicle into a tank destroyer, but the program was abandoned in August 1943, despite the successful testing of the T24 tank. No prototypes were built.
