great job I love the explanation. I think you shift motor was the problem that caused the board to burn and blow the fuses. again this was great help and fantastic step by step explanation. Thanks!!!
Dude! You Da Man! I was ready to call the wrench. It was exactly the problem. I have another 02 I use for plowing, which isn’t running now especially when I need it. Replaced it with that one. Thanks!!!
Thank you for your video . You showed exactly what to look for and fix . You explained everything in detail , so I understood all that you were showing . Thanks for helping us Ford guys out 👌🏻👍🏻🙏
Been having same problem with my F350 2002. Windshield replaced cause it was leaking 2 years ago. Checked stuff on it most of morning and then found your video. Took it out and it was burned up like yours. Thanks for the video. I didn't have any problems with fuses so hopefully my transfer case motor is ok.
Nope, not at all. But I also bought it off ebay. It was used off of the same exact vehicle as mine so no programming was needed. But im not sure if a NEW one needs programmed or not.
o man this video is what i needed i had my truck sitting for 5 years because of my 4x4 issue no light . now i registered it today time to start looking at the gem module.. thanks man
Cool. If your g.e.m isn't in the same place as mine, theres 2 other places it could be. Hopefully your 2000 is exactly like mine. Super easy fix. Be sure to check your windshield 1st before replacing G.E.M.
Hola amigo, greetings from mexico. I bought a F350 6.0 a few weeks ago and I was almost 2 weeks fighting with this problem, after replacing fuse box and countless checks watching your video this was exactly my problem. Should I prevent something? Check voltages to prevent it from happening again or it could be a leakage problem as well, regards.
I'm glad the video helped!!! I work at a Ford dealership in Iowa and we get a lot of snow here. It's very common that the Hot then Cold over time, destroys the seal and glue that holds the windshield. Water was definitely my problem. After fixing the window, I haven't had any more problems.
Have you checked your vacuum and rubber hoses that run to your hubs?? I do know that you CAN get power, but if that vacuum is not working or hose is cracked or messed up, it won't allow it to engage.
Same thing on my 02 7.3 powerstroke ur videos same me time I cheek it and it was piped got a use one for 400 off eBay and new window as well 580 woth ever thing now I’m back and going 4x4
Would all this apply to my 2002 f250 4x4. My fusebox looks just like yours so I assume my gem modual is in the same place but my 4x4 relays are orientated a bit different. I wish I knew how to test my 4x4 shift motor..if anyone knows please let me know how to test it. Thanks
If you can remove your shift model, there should be an opening on the side of it. I believe it's a square opening if I remember correctly. A socket wrench should fit the square opening. See if you can get it to turn. Mine was completely stuck and wouldn't turn. The new one turned easily. Another way to test it would be to unplug the transfer case motor and use a jump box to see it you can get power to the motor. By switching the positive and negative around, the motor should operate, Disengage and Engage... If it DOES work, then you have a different problem. Message me back if that doesn't help find your problem.
@james_crow2352 My issue turned out to be a corroded 4x4 Control module that is behind the glovebox. The front windshield seems to be letting some water in. Sent part to YourPartSource they did a reflow, replaced main components and sprayed a sealer on it. Installed it and all works..even my 4x4 low light on dash now which never worked even when my 4x4 worked. Great company. On another not. I could never get the heater core cover on right. There is a little standoff peg on the right side, I think it needs to push through the hole there on the heater core housing but it never would go in so I have a gap there which I think has been there since I've had the truck...May be why my air pressure is low from vents even with a new blower motor? Anyone know how this cover needs to go on properly?
Thank you sir! It's a SINGLE straight out of the Cat, straight back, then up and over the rearend into a "Y" into two 5" Slant Tips angled Downwards towards the rear... If that makes sense. 😅
Sorry so late. It's me just different channel. Sounds like a relay issue on the LOW side, or the SWITCH that runs the 4x4 could be bad also. I seen those take a shht. Try that, see what happens.
I just went on Ebay and typed in my truck information. It popped right up. But before you purchase one, be SURE to take yours out to look at it thoroughly so you can compare to the new one BEFORE you order. I saw there were different ones with different connections and different designs. Looking at yours FIRST will save you a problem of getting the wrong one.
It's me james, but from my other channel. I was thinking that same thing. But I could spin the MEW one, just Slow like a gear. Wouldn't turn fast. More like a motor to be exact. I even put power to the old one and it started getting warm. It was fried.
🤣🤣🤣😂🤣 Good catch man. Lol! Nuts and bolds is correct. I didn't even realize my stupid ass said that til after I posted and watched it for the 2nd time... lol!
Hey nice truck! What are the specs on your lift and wheel tire combo? I have a 02 f250 and love the stance of your truck. Also what brand brush guard is that?
Thanks man!! Much appreciated! The lift is from SUPER LIFT I believe... there's "S's" stamped in the lift kit everywhere. I actually bought the truck already lifted. I was gumna BUILD one with a 12-14 inch lift, but didn't like the price of the kits I was finding, so I found this truck already built. Has 41/14.5/20 super swamped Iroks on it I have a buddy with the same truck on 40s and a 10" life and mine is INCHES higher than his... 4 or 5 inches at least. Had the truck 10 years, nothing loose in the suspension or steering. Straight beast. I love it.
The tires are 41/14.5/20. I'm not sure what the gears it has but I can pull a 20 ft enclosed trailer with no problem, or run 90 down the Eway (IN O/D) at 1500-1600 rpm... O/D is a transmission killer though, so I keep it OFF on the Eway.
I've heard lots of ppl say it did, but mine didn't bother my stero at all. There IS another Body Control module that sits on the wall behind the stereo. It's possible that's the one that controls the stereo. But I'm honestly not sure. I'm betting it's in the fuse box somewhere. I'm interested in knowing! If you find it, leave a comment! Sorry if I didn't help much.
@@james_crow2352 i will let you know. I just bought the truck ('03 f250) and the 4x4 doesn't work (electric shift, with a good fuse) and the power windows dont go down also with a good fuse. So im thinking it could be the GEM. Once the weather up here in new england decides to cooperate im going to dig deeper into it
@@zacharyolson7730 nice! Glad you found that! This may be the fix that you need!! Also, I didn't buy mine brand new. Mine came out of a used vehicle exactly like mine, so mine didn't need reprogrammed. I'm not sure if yours will need programmed or not, but you can install it, check your fuses and see if it works. If so, good to go!!
I tried my 4x4 today and when i turn, The front wheels feel jumpy. Like the dont wanna rotate. I locked the hubs and put it in 4H. Drives straight, fine. Until i try to turn.
That sounds about right. Thats a good indicator that its actually in 4WD. When locked into 4WD its like a joint or knuckles type system. As long as you're driving STRAIGHT, there's no binding so no jumping. As soon as you TURN, the joints slightly bind up and thats where the jumpy feeling comes from. Its normal though, not a problem. I haven't seen AWD vehicles do this because the system engages and disengages on its own so you never feel it, but with vehicles that have to be PUT into 4WD, almost every single vehicle is jumpy when turning while in 4WD.
Hey whats up. I found it right on ebay, but the company that shipped it to me was called Rancho Truck Store, or Truck Company... Something like that. Just type in your vehicle info on ebay and you'll see all the different ones. Just be sure to have yours OUT already to compare your with the one you're about to purchase. I "DID NOT" have to have mine programmed either. It was used, but i just put it in.
I bought a F350. I'm never buying a non-manual transfer case truck again. Fucking circuit boards and all this dumb shit...just pull the lever idk we ever made it more complicated than that...
great job I love the explanation.
