    Love mine as well. Have it since 1st of march (serial no 3) and used it quite a lot as well. Like it in the flat, love it in the waves, riding it with a Code 720S main, great combo.. The board absolutely feels smaller than it is but has the great benefit with for instance shore break that I'm up and gone super fast, away from the hassle. (82kg myself)

    I use my 100L (80kg naked) for lindwind conditions. 1350 sabfoil for 6-8 knots. and 10+ i use razor pro piuma 975 set! really happy with it. also the boardbag is nice

      @@schwitzberger7325 Sweet set up!!! The whole Razor Pro line works perfectly with the Torpedo and the 975 is so versatile! Still a lot of lift, but good speed and turning. Even pumping works quiet good 👍

    Great overview. Love mine, great in light wind and doesn’t give up much in waves and higher winds. Any experience travelling / flying with it? The new travel bag looks great but not sure it offers enough protection.

      THANKS !! Yeap, I definitely enjoyed the Torpedo. For me it was love at second sight. I do try to be unbiased when it comes down to reviews and testing gear, but things that appeal to my inner understanding of beauty might have unconsciously a better start right from the beginning. Like I said in the video, red is not my color and the look of the Torpedo was not really appealing to me at first. All the more impressive that the board easily managed to turn my mind purely by its functionality. It just works and pretty much does what it is advertised for.

      And for traveling: Haven't done any flights but I think like with every board a good board bag is half the bet. The other half is in the hands of the airline you are flying with and that's just jeopardy. The Sabfoil bag looks nice but can't really say much about it. I got myself a sock for the Torpedo just for in car travel and the occasional trip on the roof rack. That was totally fine. Over the years I developed a few packing habits that do help to keep your board in one piece. You can find most of them in this video: ua-cam.com/video/6UMHmOxg5A4/v-deo.html

    Thanks for the review! How would you compare the ease of paddling the Torpedo up in flat water compared to a normal downwind board?

    • @hoppline
      @hoppline  6 днів тому

      @@stkl23 Depends on the downwind board! There's so many options and each and every one is different. For it's length and width the Torpedo is pretty fast and paddles nice and straight (with a little j stroke)

    What happened w the duotone board?

      The same thing that happens to all my boards: I sold it. I do go through a lot of gear every year and unfortunately I can not afford to keep it, both in terms of money and space. To be as independent as possible I still do buy most of the gear from my own money. Some times I am glad to get rid of things, some times it hurts. Letting go the SLS Downwinder was a hard decision. It was a tiny bit slower but more stable and one of my favorites in terms of look and color. But for me, keeping things I love and I am used to, is a little deceptive. Riding as much gear as possible is important for my judgement and giving me the ability to truly compare gear. Every item I review has been with me for a very long time and dozents of sessions in various conditions and set ups. It's tempting to stick with the things you love to just get the best out of your session, but that's not my goal. The Torpedo for example was love at second sight. It took some sessions to get used to it and appreciate what it does for me. And now, that I am used to it and know every aspect inside out, it's already time to say goodbye and make room for something else (that is already in the mail 🤣....

      @@hopplinethat’s fair. Many people are so critical one design or another. Even a log 🪵 can fly so it’s all taken with a grain of salt.
